Great, every aspect was perfect, as always!
The food was surprisingly not great. The flavor profiles were bizarre and not delicious. We ordered some Italian classics and they were wrong and not good at all. Excellent atmosphere and service but disappointing food.
If you can't get to Italy any time soon, go to Mozza. You will dine as you would in your favorite osteria. We had not been here before and had to try everything. We began with the Mozzarella di Bufala and Condimenti, and it was so simple yet so delicious, then the Gnocco Fritto, fabulous and something we have not seen in an american Italian restaurant before. The Orecchiette with sausage & Swiss chard was amazing. Our secondi included Orata, crispy duck leg and the lamb chops. Each was prepared to perfection. I would recommend anything that we ordered without hesitation. You will love your meal, and then service is equal to the food. Enjoy!
A true culinary gem !
Amazing cuisine from start to finish. Each course beyond delicious.
Impeccable service - attentive without being overbearing , and everyone there shares a clear passion to deliver a total dining experience.
Truly professional staff from the moment you walk in - and who embrace the obviously top notch training that is at the core of the establishment.
It’s a treat to be around people who are as in love with a 360 degree culinary journey and I highly recommend to anyone looking to experience such greatness.
And ps - I never write reviews but this shining star deserves it - and we will for sure be back many many times .
We came all the way from Canada and Osteria Mozza exceeded our expectations.
For the most part, the food was exceptional. We ordered a linguini with prawn dish, however, that was so salty as to be almost inedible. We were really surprised. The sommelier recommended a great wine; we loved the burrata with caviar; the pear wild arugula salad was very good. Service was impeccable. Would go back, but might not order the pasta again.
Love this restaurant. We have dined at Mozza for many years and always have an excellent meal. The food is delicious and the restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere. We look forward to celebrating many more happy occasions here.
The dining experience, especially the FOOD was fantastic. As for service, I made the reservations for a party of 6 and needed to add one more when we got there. The staff was happy to accommodate us and thankfully so because it was for a birthday.
It was our first visit and we absolutely loved everything about it. The entire staff was exceptional and our waiter Pat was amazing. We ordered based on his food/wine recommendations and couldn’t have been happier. It was my birthday and it was such a memorable night. We highly recommend.
Always a perfect evening with friends, family. We all had our own starter and pasta and then split a few mains. Everything was fantastic! All six of us had different pastas and we each tasted them all. The mains, sea bass, lamb and duck were superb. I love this restaurant!
ALWAYS SUPERB
Always superb. Reliably the best fine dining in Los Angeles.
Food was on the heavy side overall. When the restaurant became busy the whole room was filled with smoke from probably the mozzarella bar. Service was impeccable. But most likely won't return.
Food was good, but service was lacking.
The service was excellent but the food did not meet our expectations, was just ok meal.
While we had a lovely meal and the food was quite good, it did seem rushed. Our server and the sommelier were both quite good and a pleasure to talk but the pacing between courses (we had apps, primi and secondi) was just a bit too fast for my taste for fine dining. I finally told our server to slow it down before our dessert so we could finish our wine and allow ourselves to breath a bit. Will certainly return, if for nothing else than the angiolotti that were stellar, but will try to be more upfront about how we want the meal paced.
Don't waste time on salads; have at least two of the mozzarella dishes instead! Everything was tasty; pacing was great. Prices were surprisingly reasonable.
If it wasn't so far (90 minutes to get there for a 6pm reservation), we'd go for every special occasion!
That Michelin star wasn't awarded because the tire company happened to be in a charitable mood! Just had an outstanding dinner with an out-of-town business colleague, and enjoyed perhaps my finest of several meals there. Polished, professional service, as it's always had.
As a starter, my cow's-milk Ricotta with honey, garlic and toasted bread with hazelnuts disappeared very quickly; I'm not sure if it's a regular menu item so if you see it, order it. Mozza is justly famous for its pastas, and our tagliatelle with oxtail ragu did not disappoint. This visit marked the first time I tried one of Mozza's grilled entrees; after my roast leg of duck, it most certainly will not be the last. We saved room for dolci, and their torta della nona is excellent and unique - I believe it was corn-based, in lieu of the more -common wheat flour.
Mozza can run a bit noisy during peak service. That mostly applies to the main dining room at the front of the house. But there are two other dining spaces, and having requested as quiet a table as possible, we were seated in the room farthest back. Nice "wine cellar" type atmosphere, and actually quiet as advertised - we never had to raise voices to converse, even during peak service on a Friday.
We brought a bottle of wine. Corkage is $40, but that gets discounted if you order a bottle of their's and (I think) is waived if the table orders more than that. (Am going by memory here - definitely check with the restaurant.) Also be aware that they won't permit you to bring a wine that's on their list (common-enough practice). Not sure if the "match" has to be down to the vintage year, so best to peruse the wine list and again call the restaurant with any questions - helpful, professional folks.
In short, one of the gems of the West Coast dining scene. Angelenos - enjoy with family and friends, but also know that you can invite with confidence any clients or colleagues from other great culinary cities. They'll be delighted.
I absolutely love this restaurant! Never disappoints.
It was a magical evening. The ambiance is elegant without being pretentious. The service was impeccable. Our server Julie was very friendly and made excellent recommendations. The food was amazing, as you would expect from chef Nancy Silverton. The burrata was delicate and creamy. The octopus was tender. The pastas were perfectly al dente, with flavorful sauces. I could eat the cacio e pepe every night! And the quail just took it to another level! By the time I had my coffee and olive oil cake, I was in heaven.
While the server was lovely, the food was really awful. Way over salted and mediocre at best. Such a disappointment.
It was an amazing experience, the respect that Nancy has for the products used you can feel it in every bite. Undoubtedly one of the better places to enjoy Italian kitchen
Service used to be very good here, but not anymore. An amuse bouche is no longer offered, our water glasses were never refilled, wine bottle had first glass poured and then was left on the table for us to pour for ourselves during the entire meal. Well prior to entree delivery, bread plates were removed without offering additional service. Also the dining room is consistently very smoky. Management really should address the kitchen ventilation issue. Food quality is good, but certainly not a Michelin 1 star experience overall.
An awesome experience... we had been to the pizzeria which was amazing, this took it to the next level!!
Food was amazing. For dessert get the espresso semifreddo. Probably one of the best desserts I’ve ever had.
Food and service was AMAZING. Our whole group was raving about every dish and just had the most wonderful time. Our server was funny and informative about the amount of food we might want to order for our group size (2-3 plates per person) and we shared it all family style. It was perfect. We didn’t have a single bad plate and the drinks were fantastic. Osteria Mozza gave us the opportunity for an unforgettable night of good company and excellent food, and we for sure have plans to be back the next time we’re all in town.
The service was outstanding and the food was excellent.
Everything was delicious. Pasta is the go-to. Bravo.
Only criticism: Duck Confit was overly seasoned - too salty. Apologies for the drama, but that made me sad! I love salt. But this was too much. A foul ball, if you will.
Nonetheless,
I'll be back when I have more money.
Xoxo,
Your Friendly Diner
A wonderful experience.
Very good. Seated on time. Service really good. Quail was exceptional-not dried out as some places. Sangiovese blend was very good. A bit noisy but can still be heard without yelling.
Try the egg raviolo. My fav, hands down. So good, I ordered another one for my dessert!
Gets our vote for best restaurant in LA!!!
The server, a young lady from Chicago, was the best server I've encountered in a long time. Here knowledge regarding the wine a food was the highlight of the meal. She's a star employee and a real asset to Mozza. My apologies for not remembering her name.
Excellent food, excellent wine and excellent value. We really enjoyed our meal there!! My only negative note would be that there was a table of ladies next to us who continued to get priority over us regarding service. At one point I was mid-sentence with our waitress and the woman behind me called for her and she just turned around to talk to the other woman without even letting me finish. I was surprised that we got continuously de-prioritized given we were celebrating my birthday and had made the reservation a month in advance. I guess we didn’t look rich/important enough. However we still had a lovely time and really enjoyed the amazing food and drink. Would definitely go again and would recommend to anyone wanting a delicious Italian meal!!
Everything was very good, the only thing i can complain about is i found the food to be very salty. It was tasty but just a little too much salt.
Food was delicious. Staff was excellent. Very helpful dealing with allergies.
Can’t wait to go back and eat some more!
Food was good as always but restaurant was overly bright and food was woefully slow; they ended up paying for our last course it was so late.
Came here for my girlfriend's birthday and it was phenomenal. The service was impeccable and the food was perfectly presented and seasoned. Definitely recommend Nancy's Caesar and the pastas.
Worth the visit if you're in LA, the Michelin star is well deserved!
Had the best meal! Did the pasta tasting menu and it was amazing
Amazing as always!
