I haven’t been here a while but they didn’t disappoint me.
Delicious food, excellent service and decent price.
This is the third time in recent months where I have dined here and the service has been abysmal. We’ve been shoved in the back room and the place is understaffed and we end up waiting for 30-40 mins just to order. Used to be a top choice but there are just so many other options out there now and it feels like it’s resting on its laurels.
It was absolutely delicious
We just returned from a week long Italian Cooking School and were reluctant to visit an Italian restaurant. We are so glad we did. Our meal was outstanding. We started with the Burrata and Bacon appetizer and Nancy's caesar salad. Both were full of flavor and tasty. The salad was deconstructed and presented in a unique fashion. Wow! We had the Garganelli and Linguine Prawn. The pasta was incredibly prepared and presented. Yummy!!! We only had room for Espresso after dinner. Thanks for a wonderful meal and evening.
The food was very delicious, very attentive service, somewhat crowded but nonetheless okay. The grilled figs were delicious, I love figs, the tomato salad was very fresh and very tasty. Great presentation. My husband tried the orrechiete which he loved, lots of flavor, I had the parpadelle with rabbit - very good, hearty. We had the chocolate sesame tart and the torta della nonna (I have made this at home, honey crust and lemon custard kind of difficult, can be messy when you sieve the custard mixture) This one had honey but I could not taste the lemon, very light not too sweet which I love because it goes perfect with coffee and they toasted the pine nuts and added some powdered sugar on top which looked perfect, it was very good although was hoping for a taste of lemon. Had an airy taste to it which made it seem lighter. There were several things I wanted to try, will definitely have to come back.
loved the mozza bar. esp buretta. slightly noisy, but loved atmosphere. Pasta was slightly salty for me maybe bcoz of the goat cheese. oveeall perfect dinner for our anniversary
We felt that the food was delicious, but for those prices, you should be getting bigger portions.
Great food and service. Loved it. Will definitely return
This was a pilgrimage for me as I’m from Edmonton, Alberta in Canada. I was seated at the mozzarella bar and it was a top 5 all-time dining experience. LOVED IT!
Wonderful, we love everyone who works there and the food is amazing!
Great food and a wonderful sommelier who picked excellent wines for us from their extensive list
The mozzarella was amazing but the cacio e Pepe could’ve been better. It was chewy and had way too much pepper.
Always great food and service with a terrific soundtrack in the background.
Prior to discovering Osteria on Chef's Table, I had already dined at Pizzeria Mozza so I already knew the experience was going to be just as good and we were not disappointed. I love the ambiance of Osteria and even though every single table was taken, it was still on the quiet side and my gf and I really appreciated being able to hear each other across the table. For drinks, we had the prosecco rose, Il Postino, Gordon's cup...all were very refreshing.
For our meal, we shared the following....
Burricotta & spiced walnuts...very good and creamy
Grilled octopus...the best ever!
Cacio e pepe...so rich & delicious
We tried all three of the bread offerings dipped in olive oil and they were all amazing, particularly the sesame bread.
Perfect as always. Tried some new items this time and have to say the Rosemary Charred Pork Chop was delicious and moist. The summer panaznella salad is my new favorite salad (sorry shaved brussel sprouts). My only gripe is not having my all time favorite Burrata and Bacon not on the bread it used to come on. Plus we just missed the best sweetbreads dish, ever.
Food tastes exceptional, but is very slow.
Service is disappointing.
Pretty awesome as always. Food is always uh maze ing
My seating request to be in the main dining room was not honored, instead we were in a very small side room which I specifically wanted to avoid. The food order for the main course was delayed almost an hour because of an apparent “miscommunication“ between the waiter and the kitchen. These people are pretty full of themselves. A little more humility would make for a warmer ambience.
No assigned waiter evident
Great appetizers to start but the main dishes were all very very salty . Disappointed at the idea of seasoning in such a refined venue
The ink pasta was awesome! You can't find it anywhere except here.
Best Italian restaurant in the area. Reminded me of eating in Italy.
Great food and the wine was very good as well. They may try to upsell you but the service was very nice and accommodating!
Amazing food ever! Appetizer: leeks & figs were to die for!
Will be coming back!!
This was a delicious dining experience. Jan and Matteo were our serving team, but all the staff pitched in and were low key, polite, efficient and a pleasure.
Our mozzarella sampler was good, but the bread raised it to a new level being crispy and effusive with olive oil. The red endive and fennel salad was superb ~ light, aromatic and delicious. Matt “carved” the egg yolk and ricotta raviolo which is a main attraction, and we are so glad he did. The yolk effused and blended with the sage butter sauce with notes of nutmeg. The oxtail ragu with tagliatelle was excellent. The grilled octopus was tender and blended so well with the celery. We shared a whole flash fired branzino which was tender and moist. We are usually not dessert oriented but their mini doughnuts with huckleberry and lemon hit the spot. It reminded me of Tom Douglas’ creations in Seattle. They are very deserving of their Michelin Star, and we look forward to enjoying another evening at Osteria Mozza.
Great place, nice ambiance, good service, and delicious food. Definitely one of the top 5 restaurant we’ve ever been to. They definitely elevated every dish we ordered.
• oxtail ragu: 5/5 absolutely delish and well seasoned. Would have loved a bit more meat, but everything was great.
• Mozzarella sampler: 4/5 it was good, but maybe I’m not a cheese type of person. The garlic bread was great!
• Grilled octopus: 5/5 delish well seasoned. I believe they add lemon as it’s grilling so that flavor was on point. Not salty at all.
* Ricotta and egg ravioli: 2/5 my least favorite. Plain, not much flavor there. I’ve had better ravioli at several other places.
• Branzino: 5/5 it may look plain and simple in pictures, but this fish is packed with flavors I did not expect. Skin was crispy and meat was moist and delicious. Seasoned perfectly! One of my top 2 dishes of the night. Highly recommend!
• Bombolini: 4/5 pretty much cinnamon donut holes with ice cream. Still pretty tasty!
• Service: 4/5
I still gave it 5/5 because of the food.
Will come back in November.
Osteria Mozza was a delight! Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and helped guide our choices to fit both our tastes and hunger level. The menu can be intimidating but with guidance we had perfectly combined smaller plates pleasing our whole group. The sound level is a bit high but the energy in the dining room supports the sharing attitude of the menu.
Mozzarella tasting, oxtail, squid ink pasta, octopus, desert, and drinks. We arrived at first seating, looked confusing and the service was underwhelming. The best thing we ate was the octopus appetizer and oxtail pasta. It tries too much to be fancy and doesn’t inspire you to return. Our server was not personable and after we were done the entire dining experience was like a high end Chili’s serving people who don’t know better.
Mazza is soulless and overpriced, but more significantly, the food is dreadful. The pasta was “soggy and worst of all, the steak was so abominable we spit it out into a napkin. The foods aroma remind me of room-temperature hamburger meat from a grocer that lost power. Bad in every way a restaurant can possibly be bad, but Mazza’s food is worse even than the poor service from staff who all seem annoyed at having to be there. The appetizers tasted “reheated,” the pasta was overcooked, the cooks seemed to be applying salt with a snow blower. The food at Mazza seems exhausted, imagine a chain of restaurants started by retired employees of the Olive Garden.
Wow , I knew this place was going to be good but it well and truely exceeded my expectations! Food was amazing , this is a must do while in LA
Everything was impeccable, as always, that’s what keeps me coming back. They even were gracious about my vegetarian restrictions, as annoying as I know that is. We appreciate you. Thank you again.
I brought my son to the restaurant for his 8th birthday because he’s a huge Master Chef fan. The staff was incredibly sweet to him. The food was, not surprisingly, delicious. The ambiance was fun and classy and hip all at the same time. The staff was very attentive. We loved it so much!
Every morsel of our dinner was absolutely scrumptious! We celebrated my husbands big birthday and it couldn't of been better (except for the broken A/C) oh well.. it was really hot in there, but we did our best to not think about it... We shared many different dishes for the four of us. The best was the pasta with the sausage. We loved our salads and the fish and steak were also delicious.
Air conditioner was not working, and the waitress was not attentive in filling up our water. 2 out of 3 the pasta dishes was too salty. Food and services was definitely off and worse since the last time we were here.
La comida es realmente deliciosa, sabores que hacen salivar con un toque de innovación.
Wonderful food and perfect service.
Server and food were wonderful. Always a great experience!
Absolutely underwhelmed by Osteria Mozza.
The food was good but lacked finesse. Positively not worth the price tag -particularly the pasta-.
Service was less than mediocre, permanently reaching across our table when every space was easily serviceable from behind, once almost spilling the entire main dish on my wife's lap.
I honestly don't understand how they obtained a Michelin star rating.
If you are willing to spend this amount of money, there are far better restaurants in LA to do so.
Amazing food and we took our time
Really good pasta and steak! But the flowers were dead in the bathroom.
