Osteria Morini - New York is a authentic rustic Italian restaurant by acclaimed and award winning Chef Michael White and the Altamarea Group. In Italian, “osteria” means a place where the owner “hosts” guests, and at Osteria Morini - New York Chef White continues this tradition of hospitality, transforming his first downtown restaurant into an authentic, old-world osteria with soulful food from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy.

Osteria Moroni used to be one of our favorite restaurants in manhattan. Seriously disappointed last night. We will not be back After booking well in advance, we were sat in the bar area section with so much traffic and a horrible draft from the door opening and very cramped from people walking back and forth. Poor seating for sure. Service was horrible. Waited 15 minutes for our waitress to grab our drinks that were ready at the bar after she walked past multiple times. Bread was brought to our table with no oil or butter. We asked multiple times for both and after being so hungry we ate the bread plain. Pastas are consistently good, no complaints here. Veal was horribly disappointing. Soggy and cold. For a ~$40 dish, we were expecting much more. I will say osteria morni has some of the best pastas, but with bad service and paying so much, you can find pasta just as good elsewhere.

Love is not strong enough for how I feel about Morini's! From my favorite Downtown Martini and the duck pate, every morsel was more than perfect. The only problem is getting so full that you either can't try everything you want to tey or can't finish what you ordered. Michale White is a genius who creates with such love for his art and only accepts pure perfection in whatever he serves. Do not miss a chance to experience this for yourself.

Had the best dinner tonight. Between me and my friend we ordered 5 items from the battilardo including: prosciutto di Parma, duck liver mousse, smoked trout, parmigiano cheese with truffles, and parmigiano gelato. It came with an assortment of crostini and lard bread. Then we followed it with a pork belly appetizer which was served with arugula and filone bread. Then if that wasn’t enough, we ordered 2 pasta dishes: mezza luna and torcia. Both were excellent and cooked perfectly al dente. Then lastly we had the veal cutlet. We were so full that we couldn’t finish any of our dishes so we took a nice soggy bag to go. More food for tomorrow. Works for me! Btw, the staff was so great. They were very hospitable, knowledgeable about the menu, attentive. Every time my friend took more than 2 sips of her water, a server came and filled it up. She mentioned that she loved that any of the staff could accommodate our needs. At a lot of other establishments, only your main server can bring you another drink, or another fork, or your check. But here, everyone was working together and it was nice to see they were all a team. I’ve been here many times but it was the first for my friend. She loved it and can’t wait to come back again so we can try the rest of the menu. Thank you again for a wonderful evening. See you soon.

They tried sitting us at a two-top 4 inches next to another 2-top so we asked to be moved. They moved us close to another 2-top not at least it was 8 inches apart from table next to us. Food was just OK.

The food was very much like cardboard. Hard to pin down exactly, but there are a slew of these new restaurants (mostly Italian-esque) with great looking menus and a certain clinical, kitschy ambiance (I realize that sounds somewhat oxymoronic) that are super overpriced with food that’s mostly tasteless. It’s sad

Food- EXCELLENT. Service was good as it usually is... Better then most places in NYC.... Pasta is homemade. Cheese and meats sliced fresh, drinks generous. You cannot go wrong with OSTERIA. Been here many times and always return if I am staying in Soho.

My wife and I visited this restaurant based upon the restaurateurs reputation. Unfortunately; we were extremely disappointed. We ordered two glasses of wine, an appetizer and two entrees. The frito misto came first before the wine and was extremely oily. (Too long in the fryer at the wrong temperature). The entrees were equally as bad. My wife had a veal cutlet over tasteless spinach and a cheese topping that was dry and didn’t appear freshly prepared. I had a squid ink pasta with fish that was unrecognizable. The dish looked more like a bolognese. Not as the description depicts. The wine pricey; Pinot Grigio $17/5 oz. I fully understand what the costs of operating a restaurant in Manhattan are. It’s very hard and demanding. With that said; the price and service should reflect the final product! It did not.

Bartender was friendly and cocktails were good but it was downhill from there. Server seemed to be barely containing annoyance at have to work. Octopus was rubbery and overdone. Salad overdressed and mains both quite salty. We had enjoyed a meal here before, but this time felt unwelcome despite a reservation and ordering a bottle of wine and the food quality was poor. Very disappointed.

While our meal was pretty good, although not extraordinary, the service was awful. Our waiter's thick accent made it almost impossible to understand his explanation of the menu (and I am used to listening to accents.) After taking our order he disappeared. I asked a busboy for a refill of my iced tea and his response was "Ask your waiter." A while later, as we finished, a new waiter appeared at the table next to us. When we successfully flagged him down I asked if our guy had been cut and he said yes, he was now our server and brought the bill.

As usual, the food was top notch. Our table had scallops, chicken, veal and pasta. All were perfectly prepared. We had meatball appetizer and mozzarella with endive-both delicious. The service was a little slow and surly. Unexpected. None the less, it’s our go to lower Manhattan Italian.

We’ve always enjoyed our dining experience @ Morini’s but this time was different. Our waiter was almost non existent, he came around a few times to explain the menu, take our wine order, but after that not so much. Another waiter took our order. The servers served our appetizers, when our mains came it was very salty. We sent our pastas back after one bite, then our waiter shows up & says our new orders would be out in 2 mins. There is one thing I have to mention, Morini’s makes their pasta fresh which I appreciate but for my personal taste, I would have liked my pasta cooked just a tad longer. My mistake for not specifying correctly when I ordered. I’m not a local, so this is my second time going this year. When it came time to pay the bill, our waiter shows up. Was the food good? The appetizers were good, the pasta ? I’m still on the bench with that one. Will be go back next time while in NYC? I’m not sure. Maybe give them another chance? Why not. Perhaps next year when we return to NYC.
