Osteria Morini - New York
Best Italian meal I’ve ever had! Highlight of our trip, no doubt! Incredible food, excellent and knowledgeable wait staff, couldn’t recommend this place enough!
Amazing pasta and pork chops!
Kourtney our server was great!!! Food was great. The tables are very tight there but we were lucky to sit on the bar.
The food was very good. I just wish there were some cheaper and smaller options for lunch. Entrees were $23-28 for lunch.
Overall, food was very good except for the tiramisu which was quite disappointing. The pasta was excellent though the portions were a bit small. The service however was nothing more than adequate. Certainly expeditious but no warmth or flair… felt like we were at Olive Garden. I expected more. We ordered a good bottle of wine and the waiter brought it to our table already in a decanter… a big no-no. She should have opened the bottle and poured it into the decanter in front of us… no way of knowing if what we drank was actually what we ordered… There are so many excellent options in NYC and for the same price, even less, you can do better.
we love going to Morini’s when visiting NYC. What not to like, good food, good wine selection & reasonable prices.
Second time here, everything was wonderful! Haf the pasta summer tasting menu and it was really delicious.
Always a wonderful place to dine! Have never been disappointed Love to bring friends here for a special experience.
We’ve eaten here a number of times and always have a great experience. A tad pricey for everyday dining but fun for bringing friends from out of town or other special occasion like a birthday. Food is always great and we’ve had very good servers. However, we really do not care for restaurants who insist all of your party be there before seating (esp when 2 our of 3 are there and the restaurant was not full even when we finished our meal). Feels like you’re at Chili’s. In our experience the better NYC restaurants don’t do this.
Reviews suggested an excellent Italian restaurant in NY, a city not short of competition. Bourdain's recommendation closed the deal and table booked. As it transpired, service was functional and food acceptable without being particularly memorable. Enjoyable starters (chicken sausage excellent) but pork main was disappointing. Meat a little dry. Vegetables swimming in oil. Not great. Excellent wine, although provided with glass tumblers to drink it from, unlike anyone else in the room as far as we could see. Asked for wine glasses, which were provided together with the waitress's observation that "Italians drink it from them". Not on any of our many, many holidays in Italy they didn't, but not a problem, just a bit odd. Overall- expected a superb Italian meal but received something mediocre.
Great fun place for friends da or date
Absolutely delicious meal! We treated ourselves to the 120 day aged Tomahawk steak and were not disappointed. Steak just melted in your mouth and the Nerello Mascalase made it all come together. Service was just outstanding.
My friend and I came in for dinner last Friday. Your servers go above and beyond. After talking to our server at the end of the meal, she brought out a dessert with a candle. Not only did she put a smile on both of our faces at the end of the meal, but she recommend a variety of different dishes displaying quality menu knowledge. All and all, you can truly tell the restaurant values teamwork. The way they work together as a team is absolutely outstanding. Coming from a restaurant team in Philadelphia, I truly appreciated how we were taken care of every step of the way, from watering, to plate changes, to crumbing, and receiving our check. It was all smooth and you can feel the fluidity throughout your entire experience.
Also, our pasta was incredible. We'll definitely be back!
InFKNsane food!!! I’m an Italian that will now crave fussili with pork shoulder ragu til the day I die, SERIOUSLY!! A MUST❣️ Alegra at the bar is awesome!
Wonderful restaurant! Tasted like classic Italian food grandma made years ago! Loved the cozy atmosphere and service was fantastic! Highly recommend!😍
Outstanding! Always is. The people that work here are amazing and the food is excellent.
Absolutely delicious. As someone who grew up with a Northern Italian grandmother, I can say with confidence that everything about this experience was the best parts of eating at your nonna's house. Authentic, delicious... definitely get the budino pudding for dessert.
Dined at G’town Osteria Morini several times and thought highly. NYC location more of a neighborhood feel, but food and service were ok, good. Very casual and some patrons were too casual, tables are close, too many loud conversations! Doubt I would repeat !
Birthday date! The food was delish!
The food was delicious. I had the scallops and my husband had just "plain old spaghetti". It was his favorite spaghetti by far. The noodles were perfect. It was a wee bit loud for me and I'm not a huge fan of side by side tables (it always feels like you're in a conversation together) but all in all, the food an service was great. I was reading in several reviews about it being upscale, I don't think so (paper napkins) but it was a great place for a date!
The pastas at this place are amazing! The only downside is that for me, I love hot sauce and they don’t have hot sauce, just red pepper flakes. But other than that the ambiance and food and everything is amazing. The bread they serve is even 🤤 so delicious
Best restaurant in NYC. Amazing food in a comfortable, friendly setting with unparalleled staff.
I've always enjoyed my meals here and usually the food is terrific. On Sunday the spreads and salads were great but my main course, a veal milanese. was rather bland and tasteless. I'd give them another try given my enjoyment in the past, but with a more wary eye.
We have been to Osteria Morini many times for the fresh pasta dishes. The pasta is always delicious! We liked the spring cocktails as well, my gin drink was fresh and light. The hostess was very kind and the service was good, although I noticed that we didn’t get bread like all the other tables, which is fine since we had pasta, but it would have been nice to get bread. Service should be even every time.
Outstanding meal from start to finish. Susanna provided excellent service and paced our meal perfectly. Mista salad perfectly accompanied the chicken sausage with red cabbage & apples (outstanding dish). We ordered spallina as a mid-course, which was just decadent and the moved on to Barnzino and Swordfish both of whic were expertly prepared. Swordfish was just amazingly prepared and is my new benchmark. Morini is simply the best. And somehow always improving.
Great food at reasonable prices! Spacious tables and attentive service. Restaurant noise can get loud but doesn’t take away from the overall experience.
Amazing ! Loved the food and our waitress was so helpful
Went for brunch and loved it! Food was delicious, wait staff was pleasant and professional and we never felt rushed.
Not coming back here. Service was very poor for the price. For anyone reading this, your local Italian Bistro likely provides an equivalent experience at a fraction of the price, stick what that.
Late date on a Sunday and the staff was extremely accommodating. Everything we had over the course of the dinner was spot on and the wine they suggested worked absolute wonders. Osteria Morini has always had a special place in my heart, but this visit has me thinking this could be one of the best Italian restaurants in NYC.
Thanks to the chef and hospitality staff for a unforgettable evening.
Always excellent. I go every time I’m in New York.
Incredible meatballs, wonderful wine, every single thing about this place was above average. Highly recommend.
very good italian reataurant. great choice of wine and the pasta was amazing! a bit noisy..
definitively check out this place!
With all of the great restaurants in NYC, I would not recommend this one. The food is passable but overpriced.
The duck pate was good, the bread was chewy and hard.
The gnocchi were very hard and chewy, whereas good handmade gnocchi should melt in your mouth.
Pasta with seafood was harder than al dente and sauce was too chunky.
It missed the key point of Italian flavors and is overpriced for the quality.
Terrible service, so so food this particular time but last time it was excellent.
We were in no hurry so we didn't mind waiting for our server to show up. When he finally arrived he asked us immediately what we wanted then for some reason looked straight up at the ceiling. When he looked back down the person in our party who had answered had to repeat the order because the server was not paying attention. He never read us the specials, he was asked politely to not pour the wine from the carafe but willfully did so anyway, he didn't bring the bread and later didn't ask us about dessert.
We had been here before and it was wonderful. Service, food etc. Some how the pastas we had were not as good as we had remembered them. Not a deal killer. I'd give them a pass on that because everyone has a bad day but since there is no way would I take a chance on getting the wacky waiter again, we won't be going back.
Delicious pasta and service was very attentive and helpful when selecting wine and menu options ! Even though it was crowded on a Thursday night, service was quick! Also been to the location in Washington DC and the New York location has a more authentic Italian feel!
Everything was delicious! Especially the braised octopus appetizer. It was a little hard to hear my friend across the table, but overall great food, helpful waitstaff and a nice restaurant.
Love this place. It's pricey but the food is well worth it!
Surprised to some extent. A very nice upscale place with decent Italian food.
