Osteria Morini - New Jersey
We had a wonderful dinner at Osteria Morini. Chef Chris was very accomodating of my mother's pork allergy. The food was absolutely incredible. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
We always loved Osteria Morini in the city. Decided to give this location a try. Besides good service can’t say that we liked it. Food is bland, nothing to remember. No ambiance (not cozy either).
We had another great meal at Morini. My family and I love this place. Everything on the menu is delicious.
The chef has a heavy hand with the salt and this is coming from someone who loves salt.
Desert was underwhelming apple crisp lukewarm and overly sweet, no tartness to it at all. The vanilla gelato on top was heavy more like ice cream, overall disappointed with the experience food wise.
The manager did however take the desert off the bill when he saw that I had hardly eaten it, and our water gave us very good service.
Had a very nice Valentine's dinner. Was a preset three course menu but enough choices for us each to find something we liked. Food and service was great!
I always find the food here to be excellent. When you just want a great bowl of pasta and a glass of wine, this is the place to go. The pizza is the best in New Jersey, and that is an observation from someone who grew up in New York.
Dining at bar, bartender seemed overwhelmed. Dirty glasses and dishes all over. Not a good look. Once reinforcements arrived, things got straightened out. Good menu. My go to for dinner in Bernardsville area.
Great experience! Loved the food, ambiance, server, and happy it wasn’t too loud.
Really Really Like this place. The bread is one of the best EVER! I like that they have 1/2 and full portions of the dishes. The Value is extremely good. The waitress we had this time....wasn't up to par...seemed to be new and a bit too causal...but was good enough. Could it be a bit more creative...yes. But as is...still one of the best around for an outstanding Italian Meal at a very reason cost for the high quality!
We are never disappointed at Osteria Morini in Bernardsville. The food and the service are always top notch. The only issue is the noise level, which can get pretty distracting, especially seated near the kitchen. With a party of 4 or fewer, conversation is manageable; with 6 or more, distracting becomes annoying.
We really enjoy this restaurant- the food is always excellent and portions are good, but definitely not inexpensive. Worth it for us for a splurge. Nice atmosphere and service.
OM provides a consistent and pleasurable experience. However it is recognized that regulars, for which we are not, get specialized attention not afforded to the less frequent visitor. This being said, overall a very nice evening.
Creative menu and wonderful pasta. It’s a good place for dinner with family and/or friends. Tables are pretty close and it is a bit noisy but not unbearably so. We’ve been here three times and always come away happy 😊
Overpriced. It’s just a fancy pizzeria. Pizza was average. Server was very friendly and attentive.
We sat at the bar New Years Eve. It was a limited menu which was fine. The food was delicious, the bartender was fun and pleasant and very attentive. We really enjoyed our evening!!
We’ve never had a bad meal here. Everything tastes fresh and delicious!
This placed used to pride itself on serving fabulous seasonal dishes with authentic flavors. With the inclusion of their Nicholetta’s menu, the choices have become scarce and the pride in their dishes has gone downhill. This is still a frequent spot for me, as they do provide excellent service and the food is still tasty, but I’m not sure for how much longer. Their half price pasta night recently moved from Mondays to Sundays, which is never a good sign... -And they should think about keeping an eye out on their liquor usage/costs. Saw the bar staff taking in one too many “tastings”, even when not serving customers. I hope Morini rebounds and focuses on what made this restaurant unique and widely revered. For me though, I’m definitely on the lookout for another place to frequent.
Very good but disappointed at the elimination of many of my favorite pasta dishes from the menu such as gramigna and cappelletti
Consistently great food and service
Having been to the DC location we couldn’t wait to go back to Bernardsville to have Capeletti. OMG the truffle and butter sauce is amazing. Added benefit on Sunday night only $12. Also try the Polpetti appetizer- great for sharing.
Sealed the deal
Great spot. Not your everyday Italian, as the dishes are more sophisticated, but well thought out and well crafted. It’s a great place to try something out of your comfort zone. Dessert was outstanding as well, and our waiter was welcoming and attentive.
Great meal and wonderful evening
The fresh pasta was outstanding! The scallops cooked perfectly. I will definitely be returning
The service was really bad. It took so long for food to arrive, waitress disappeared, the table assistant/ atttendant did not speak english.. we felt absolutely abandond. The food was good as always but the experience this time was very bad!
My go to for business or personal. Sold on the polpettini and there pastas. Pizza great, and available next door during the day at sister pizzeria Nicoletta.
6 guests enjoyed dinner here one Sunday 6 pm. A decent sized family crowd with children. Service was ok. Fritto misto was interesting fried app. Mixed reviews. I liked it. I also had a chopped salad which had good ingredients, but lacked garlic or spice or pepperoncini, which would have made it better. Two meatball snobs gave them a 5/10 rating. Mheh. Pasta orders were pronounced good. As a gluten, sugar, and nightshade avoider, I would like to try a fish next time. Also need a basil pesto something. Maybe I’ll ask the chef to help me out next time.
App with shrimp and calamari was great as was spaghetti dinner with scallops shrimp.
Having been going since Osteria opened. The pasta menu has changed and not for the better. Bolognese sauce recipe not the same preferred old recipe. Gramigna pasta with sauce from old menu was better. Branzino was excellent.
Excellent! Great taste and decor. Definitely a good place I will visit again.
We had great service from Kevin. The food was very good & a great drink from the bartender 👍🏻. But it is s little noisy because of the “open concept “ and hard surfaces. Still a great stop & the owners home grown Cabernet wine was top notch. We’ll be back!
Too noisy for business discussions even on a Wednesday night. Waitress was inattentive, didn't give us utensils, left our wine in the ice bucket away from our table and only came to refill for us once, have to ask for butter twice,...
Frito Misto was the best I have ever had!!!
One of my all time favorite restaurants. Especially in Morris County!
Outstanding food! Attentive waitstaff and everyday specials. A true NYC gem right in suburbia.
Delicious as always with a very attentive staff. Our waitress Lindsay goes above and beyond to make the dining experience awesome. The food is so good and prepared with ♥️. A favorite of ours.
Wonderful food with the best service!
The waiter wasn't very good.
I asked for a glass of Malbec and was told they don't have Malbec by the glass so I requested
the house Pinot Noir which was okay at best. When my bill came the glass of wine was $22.00 and when I asked the waiter how it could be that much he said that he didn't know so rather than argue over the bill I just paid it and left.
I've dined here before and it was much better all around perhaps something has changed with regards to management or the chef.
It's a shame
The lasagna was very good.
The eggplant rollatini was soggy, the accompanying pasta was chewy.
