Osteria Morini pays homage to the casual and rustic cuisine and ambiance of the Emilia-Romagna region of Northern Italy. Osteria Morini is a casual Italian restaurant from Chef Michael White. In Italian, “osteria” means a place where the owner “hosts” guests, and at Osteria Morini, Chef White continues this tradition of hospitality, transforming his first Washington, D.C. restaurant into an authentic, old-world osteria with soulful food from the Emilia-Romagna region of Northern Italy.

I had branzino, and it was tasty, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Dessert was the special, and it was chocolate mouse in a butter crust, with mint and pomegranate. The service was perfect, attentive when we needed it, but enough privacy that we could talk.

I recommend Morini Mondays. Pasta is 13 bucks. A great deal. I recommend the Gnocchi.

Good, fresh food. Somewhat overpriced by typical of restaurants in Navy Yard area. Good bar area and good, attentive staff.

If you want a real treat of a lunch at the DC Navy Yard, consider Osteria Morini. Great lunch specials with choices of fresh pastas and salads and sandwiches. Get the gnocchi! You won't be disappointed!

Heard about the “Morini Monday” deal from a co-worker which is $13 pasta all night. Definitely a great deal.

Came with two other friends and we didn’t eat lunch the day off. We ordered the meatballs and grilled octopus for apps. Both were super tasty.

For entrees we split four of the pasta dishes: Duck Ravioli, Beef Tagliatelle, Spinach Lasagna, and Truffle Gnocchi. All were really good but the Duck Ravioli and Lasagna were the best.

We split two desserts: the Pistachio Lemon Cake and Chocolate Lava Cake. Both equally as good as the dishes before them.

Server was very friendly as were the runners/bussers.

2 bottles of San Pellegrino, 2 apps, 4 pastas, and 2 desserts came to $148 before tip. Definitely a good deal for a night out for 3 friends.

We already plan to come back :)

I was surprised at how easy it was to get a table for Sunday brunch. The best thing I ordered was my appetizer-- a cheese-filled raviolo (?) with leeks. My wife's entree was pasta with mushroom sauce, also delicious.

Osteria Morini is located next to the water and is a newer development area in the District (Navy Yard). The ambience is very good and the food was superb. We went during restaurant week and had the fixed menu. Everything was exceptional, especially the sunchoke soup. The manager stopped by to greet us and check in on our experience. Service was excellent. Although we visited during the winter, we are anxious to try it in the summer and sit on the patio adjoining the waterfront.

Sitting at the waterview, and food is pretty good as Italian restaurant. The price is in the middle range. I would recommend the pork belly, short rib, black ink pasta, and mocha cake. The restaurant is in par with Siroc, Tosca, Floriana, and little better than RPM, Acqua Al, Bibiana.

We were out for a walk and came upon the restaurant. It was so delicious- the pasta with sausage was great and the salad was fresh and delicious. I had such a nice glass of pinot noir. It was a very cold day and we greatly enjoyed our lunch.

Squid ink pasta was mediocre at best and one of the mussels in it had gone bad!!

Bus lady kept interrupting meal while we were still clearly eating to ask if we were done. She did this 3 times, once with each course. We were 3 people, having a 3 course meal, and occupied the table less than 2 hours so it’s not like we were being slow or dragging things out.

I went with a few friends for restaurant week. It’s a very sincere menu. The squid ink is everybody’s #1, outstanding! Gnocchi is very tasty too. We also loved the different cheese and spread we ordered from the normal menu. Beautifully presented too. The dessert Moca is my fav sweet so far. Ohhhh and I recommend the rum and hot chocolate cocktail if you want something comforting on a winter day. We all agree it will be our group’s new spot.

Went for Restaurant week - the meal was incredibly average-to-blech. I'm convinced that Restaurant weeks do not do any favors for restaurants. While the tables may be filled, if they're going to offer the dredges of their menu, it certainly doesn't lead to repeat business.

Wonderful meal! We started with the burrata and added prosciutto (which i would absolutely recommend doing). For our entrees, we ordered tagliatelle, cappeletti, rigatoni, and lasagna. The cappeletti is a stand out dish - I dipped my bread in the sauce after finishing all of the pasta! The lasagna was another favorite - the spinach noodles and béchamel were a perfect combination. Definitely recommend stopping in for a meal!

A dependable choice for interesting Italian food. I have never had anything that I thought was "to die for" delicious, but the food is always good and the service prompt in a pleasant atmosphere. Outdoors is nice in the summer. This was a cold winter day, so we enjoyed the tortellini en brodo and a good salad, as nobody wanted anything too heavy.

I was disappointed in the service and in the food. The pastas were very expensive for what they were. The server we had didn't take any time with our table. It was a disappointing meal that cost $100 for two drinks, two entrees, and one appetizer. Not worth it.

The gnocchi is amazing. They no longer do the 25% of bottles of wine on Morini Mondays which is sad. The prices were raised again to $13 a plate. Still a deal.

Morini Monday’s has gotten progressively worse. The waiter was nonexistent, offered no recommendations or even checked in on us during our meal.

We also felt extremely rushed to finish our dinner. There was a young lady with a tablet walking around the restaurant to determine where customers were within the meal.
