Osteria Morini DC
Osteria Morini pays homage to the casual and rustic cuisine and ambiance of the Emilia-Romagna region of Northern Italy. Osteria Morini is a casual Italian restaurant from Chef Michael White. In Italian, “osteria” means a place where the owner “hosts” guests, and at Osteria Morini, Chef White continues this tradition of hospitality, transforming his first Washington, D.C. restaurant into an authentic, old-world osteria with soulful food from the Emilia-Romagna region of Northern Italy.

Wait staff and manager were extremely kind and patient as I waited for my date partner to join me. She had never been to the area and got off the metro st the wrong stop. I was clueless to where she was and the talked to her directly and provided directions
Although I get fish 90% of the time when I eat out the waitress mentioned the pasta and boy and I ever grate she did. My partner and I split the fish and the pasta. The pasta was to die for. I could have eaten the entire bowl.
We agreed we want to return.
Everything was amazing from the moment we walked through the door. They helped store our luggage (we ate before heading to the airport), the dining Ware was simple and beautiful. The food was delicious - I am so thankful for the lunch menu special! It was more than enough food! My coworker and I came on a recommendation from another coworker and it was spot on. It’s a definite must eat place if you’re in DC!
I love the NYC one. Been there tons of times. Best brunch in Manhattan. This one, which this was my second trip, is beautiful and welcoming. However, the food is just not as good as the NYC one. Salty and marginal. On the bright side, the service is wonderful. Loved our waiter. Fix the food.
Awesome spot on the water. Make sure to ask for a table on the patio!
The quality of Osteria Morini’s food has diminished significantly since last eating there a year ago. The roasted chicken use to be one of there signature dishes. The chicken this visit was charred. So bad and rubbery was the pork dish that it was returned.
Decent food and beautiful location but overpriced.
Service was pretty lackluster and not great. But the food was tasty!
Not sure if it was because of the company or the food, but this sure was the best dinner I’ve had in 2018 :)
We came to dine prior to a Nats game. Described as “Romanesco” cuisine, the food was great and flavorful, but not intensely so. Service was attentive and thorough. Our waitress had a great knowledge of the menu and the components of the dishes we ordered as well as those we did not select. Enjoy!!
Have been going off and on to the DC location since it opened. Was great to be back. Staff was all new to me but very attentive. Everyone left the restaurant very happy with food and service. Since I am back in any area looking forward to Ai Fiori again. What class.
The best pasta and dessert I’ve ever had! Service was a little slow but I’ll definitely be back for the food
Excellent house made pasta. Attentive service. Great experience! Recommended for any occasion.
We had a wonderful waitress and delicious food and drinks!
Osteria Morini is a great addition to the Southwest Waterfront scene. It serves creatively prepared Italian food, slightly overpriced but worth the expense, and offers an expansive wine list featuring reasonable markups. The service is first-class and the room is quite attractive, although noisy. We have been to O.M. before and will surely return.
Our current favorite restaurant in D.C. for Italian food. We take our time and make sure to savor every course.
It's one of my favorites for Italian food and I love the ambiance/sitting on the patio. All of the pastas are amazing, as are the meatball appetizer and sea bass entree. That being said, the service is terrible, every. single. time. I go back because I love the food and hope it will improve and that was not the case with our last meal. We constantly had to flag down someone to get more water, take our order, bread, etc. It was frustrating, we still had a nice evening and the food is great, just hope they can improve because it's not a cheap meal to have such poor service.
Amazing. Everything was amazing. The squid ink pasta with shrimp and scallops was flavorful and delicious. The tiramisu was good but the molten lava cake was the best thing I’ve ever tasted. The ambiance is perfect and the service is friendly. Book it now!!
This is the second time I have visited the restaurant, and won’t be the last. The food and service were great.
Franklin was an awesome server!!!
We went here 2 years ago for my mother's bday lunch. My brother couldn't get their fabulous burger out of his mind. Said best ever! Finally went again today. Burger still amazing! I had brunch frittata. Very tasty! Great use of ingredients. Exceptional cheese.
Osteria Morini is always excellent. It’s our go-to.
One of my favorite places (if not my favorite) to eat in DC. Certainly the first place that comes to mind on a sunny day or a nice evening when I think of a place to take friends and business clients. Excellent food, excellent service and great ambiance in one of the best urban settings in DC. Even walking through the urban spaces developed by the river front to get to Osteria is a joy.
Always love Morini but this visit stuck out because of great service. The food was delicious as always but our server was particularly attentive, very warm and never made us feel rushed despite being the last seating of the evening.
Nice ambiance. Great cheese plate!
Father’s Day was a success
I really enjoyed my brunch great food and the restaurant was very accommodating.
This is our go-to special occasion restaurant. Our son requests every year for his birthday, if not for the Uovo appetizer, then for the squid ink pasta. Well, all the pastas have been wonderful, as well as any of the grilled meats. Service is always exemplary, e.g. we flagged it was a birthday and were given a perfect small panna cotta dessert.
Awesome! Loved the outdoor seating by the water.
I went here for brunch and what a great decision! Delicious food. Great service, and I was able to sit outside.
We took a dear friend from Japan with a hearing problem to dinner, and she loved the food. However, it was very noisy. The waitstaff and the hostess and manager were all very kind about allowing us to move out to the patio for dessert so we could escape the noise. We had a lovely time, as always.
Food was delicious as always - had burger for first time- while it was delicious, it was too salty
It’s one of my favorites in Dc. I came more than 6 times in the last 3 months I recommended to all my friends.
Grabbed dinner outside. Good food. Nice ambiance. A bit pricey.
Excellent food plus large portions. Service is good, waiters checking in regularly, filling glasses, bringing extra bread, etc. I'd certainly recommend going for brunch, as they have a wide array of options that allow for most dietary needs as well as any cravings one may have for pasta, fish, other meats, etc. Also, they make a very tasty Bloody Mary! Will be back with family and friends!
Best rigatoni around!!! Also, if you go for brunch the pancakes are to die for! We were really excited that their desserts didn’t contain nut ingredients and that we were able to enjoy dessert out for a change (great place for others with nut allergies)!! Everything is delicious and the staff is incredibly friendly!
We had an incredible meal of blue crab & an amazing chocolate Carmel dessert.
Outstanding service and quality!
The ricotta pancakes were absolutely delightful. We also had the romaine and fried capers salad, the prosciutto di parma, parmigiano and soppressata with grilled bread, tagliatelle, and lemon basil shortcake, mascarpone cream and strawberries and blueberry sorbet for dessert. All were excellent. Service was great. We will definitely return to dine here again.
Great experience! The food was delicious!
