Osteria Morini pays homage to the casual and rustic cuisine and ambiance of the Emilia-Romagna region of Northern Italy. Osteria Morini is a casual Italian restaurant from Chef Michael White. In Italian, “osteria” means a place where the owner “hosts” guests, and at Osteria Morini, Chef White continues this tradition of hospitality, transforming his first Washington, D.C. restaurant into an authentic, old-world osteria with soulful food from the Emilia-Romagna region of Northern Italy.

Osteria Morini DC Ratings and Reviews
Good food. Cool restaurant. One hitch - we arrived for our 5:30 pre-theater reservation to a nearly empty restaurant and we offered what could only objectively be considered one of the worst tables in the house. It was a very small table directly in front of the door. When we asked for another table, the hostess seemed really put out. The exchange felt insulting. We won't be rushing back.
Sunday evening dinner was a very pleasant experience. Service from our waitress was super. We particularly appreciated advice on wines offered, and opportunity to taste wines before we ordered. Special entrees -grilled veal chop and broiled banzini (served deboned) - were both delicious.
We dis Thanksgiving dinner here and had the time of our lives! Great good from main courses to the sides and even desserts. They even had a specialty cocktail for the day that was absurdly good and quite seasonal. We've never had a bad meal at Morini's and love coming back again and again!
A four hour tour... We arrived for our reservation for 4 on time and were seated promptly. The restaurant was busy with a good vibe. We enjoyed great cocktails, then the long waits began. Long wait until appetizers arrived. Long wait for our pasta course. We had the sommelier help us with wine selection for out main course, but they brought it out with our pasta. We had another very long wait until the main course arrived. We finished the bottle of wine before our main course. Long evening, long waits, food was good.
Amazing experience. This restaurant group is top notch. If you like delicious Italian food in a comfortable with an elevated atmosphere; try this place out! The server, manager and whole staff treated my father and I to an amazing experience. We had the fondue app, bucatini, crab ravioli, branzino and limoncello for dessert. Everything was superb. Can’t wait to come back !
Loved our dinner at Osteria Morini! This restaurant was highly recommended by several DC friends, and it did not disappoint! The pasta is amazing and the wine was incredible. Will definitely be going back, especially for date nights and for when friends and family are in town!
We are local (within blocks) of the restaurant and dine here as often as we can. We had very close friends driving in from out of town and they hit the dreaded beltway traffic. The hostess was extremely accommodating and flexible given the circumstances. Our waiter was on point throughout the entire meal. And, the food does not disappoint - duck breast, pork chop and tortelacci were the stars of the table. Always a great experience and we love that we are so close! Thanks!!!!
I was looking for a place with a great view and tasty cuisine to see long-time friends. When making the reservation a week in advance I asked for a quiet table. We arrived & were offered a table squeezed near the kitchen! We declined that and were placed in a nicer location. Unfortunately, no matter where we might have been seated could have qualified as "quiet" except perhaps the tables outside. It was too chilly for that ! Service was great, the food authentic and tasty and decor charming. When I return I'll have different expectations for the noise level.
I would recommend with reservation... Food was OK. I had the Branzino which was very nice but the Insalata Mista was strange and although I love hazelnuts, it was overloaded with nuts and dried cherries. Pastas were just ok. Service was decent. Extremely LOUD!!
First time at this restaurant. Four of had lunch and were all impressed with the 'authenticity' of the Italian cuisine. The "two-fer" and "three-fer" lunch specials are hard to pass up. Well worth a visit if you haven't been and you want an Italian-style meal. Bravo to Osteria Morini!
We stumbled upon Osteria Morini after having a tasting at the District Winery across the way and were delighted! They have really succulent and savory options - such as their cheese plate, mushroom gnocchi special, and sliced filet mignon. Don’t forget to save room for dessert and espresso. Our server was really helpful w/ suggesting drink options so please ask for tips. We sat outdoors on their lovely patio and had an amazing view. We’ll definitely be back soon!
