Osteria Marco is always my go to when it comes to lunches or happy hours. They always have the best service and the most amazing food and drinks.
As an out of town visitor, my selection was based on reading the many reviews on OpenTable to see info to support its ranking a top 10 Italian restaurant in Denver. My goodness, is there no discernment about what constitutes good Italian food among these many reviewers? Or is it more about the high rating based on quality of drinks, the price and ambiance? The bruschetta (btw waiter, that's pronounced in Italian as "brus kett'a" not bru shett' a" though a very common error as is with focaccia -- "fo ca'cha" not "fo cass'ia") came soggy from the mushrooms bathing it. Bruschetta is to be a well grilled bread so that such toppings do not cause it to become mushy to the point of being impossible to pick up to eat! My lamb chops were certainly not from the loin but some other part. They were so tough that I could barely cut into it. Moreover, they were terribly fatty. The Nebbiolo red wine at $14 for glass was mediocre at best. While I don't usually complain, I did this time about the lamb chops and it was received very well and to my surprise, the entree was deducted from our bill! Notwithstanding the kindness extended to me, I cannot rate my dining experience very highly when the food was so disappointing.
Consistently great food in Larimer Square that won’t break the bank. Great cocktails too!
Went for Mother’s Day and made a reservation for 6. Did not include 7 month old baby in reservation because she gets passed around and doesn’t require a place at table. Upon seeing the baby, the host was visibly upset and said to my wife in snarky tone, “you’re just gonna sit with the baby the whole time?” When my wife said, “yes”, he turned around to other staff and loudly said in obviously upset time, “this table is really for seven” and repeated this several times. The conversation turned to leaving before I had even sat down. We ordered some charcuterie and calamari. Cheeses and pork were worthwhile but the $16 calamari was a large platter of greens and Fresno peppers with 5 small pieces of Calamari. There is a difference between an artfully prepared dish and cheap....this came across as the latter. It was laughable. Halibut, Pizza and chicken were good...Pizza is notable good for neoplolitan. Waitress was friendly. Rude host and cheap app set the tone for a disappointment. So many options so won’t be back.
Great waitress good food really noisy! Not good for handicap accessibility
Great food, great service in a surprising roomy downstairs space.
We were disappointed in both the service and the pizza. Burrata delicious and cocktails worthy but will not be returning as there are too many other fabulous places to dine in Denver that offers more.
Our waitress was fantastic! She was so sweet and totally on top of our orders.
For a restaurant that is advertised as italian, I would have liked to see a few more pasta options on the menu, there was only one when I went.
Went for a birthday celebration. Great service, moderately priced- overall great choice,
Kimberly was phenomenal. Awesome server. Totally delicious food.
Great food great service
I have a new rule to try anything with truffle oil in it, and the mushroom fusilli was spot on. Also enjoyed the chef’s meat and cheese plate.
As always everything was great! Osteria never disappoints.
Delicious burrata and all around great meal!
Thank you Osteria Marco for the wonderful lunch and for supporting Project Angel Heart!
A great Italian downtown restaurant with an old-school classic ambience and to top it all off very good food
Great spot for a very exciting evening of Italian food. Noisy yes, but if you go later after 800pm it slows a bit.
As usual, always a great place to dine.
excellent dinner, the Gluten Free pizza was the best I've ever had. Even my non-GF husband found it delicious. A bit pricey add on charge for the GF pizza over the reg though. The calamari was also incredible. Hubbys reg pizza was also over the top. A little noisy but not too bad. Loved it and will be back.
Theatre date with daughter
Always great food & wonderful service.
I have nothing but good things to say about my experience. The overall quality and presentation was great, the flavor was on point. The portions to cost and the burrata left a little to be desired. Okay, I was really disappointed with the burrata considering how it was hyped. I wanted soft and fresh and felt it was manufactured and lacked creaminess.
The service was great, out waiter and the supporting staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive.
I would recommend and will be back.
Excellent, flavorful entrees. Caesar salad was mediocre. Nice Italian wine list.
We were in Denver for a conference, and 8 of us went to Osteria Marco for dinner and drinks. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the service was fantastic. Our server went above and beyond to accommodate us, even indulging in our requests to split a check 8 ways.
The food was also great. One colleague had the lamb chops and said they were outstanding. The pizza hit the mark, and the halibut was perfectly cooked. The cocktails were also delicious, and the wine list had a fantastic selection.
It was just the perfect lunch date.
Great space. Superior food and service. I will be back.
Wonderful as always.
Incredible burrata, amazing meats. the salad was worth it alone. we will be back.
Last minute plan for dinner. Accommodated us as a party of 3 even though there was only two top tables available.
Great service. Great food. Just loud bit not so much that we couldnt talk.
It was great, great food!
I had the roasted chicken over the green beans and mashed potatoes. The chicken was dry and pretty bland. Laying the chicken over the mashed potatoes makes it impossible to get to all the meat without using your hands. But then you get mashed potatoes all over your hands. That presentation of that dish makes me roll my eyes everytime I see it at a restaurant. It also covers the green beans in mashed potatoes, and makes the potatoes really runny from the beans and chicken juices. It may look nice, but it trashes the flavors and textures of each part of the meal. I won’t order that dish again.
It has been about 5 years since I have been to Osteria Marco. What a pleasant surprise. The food and service were excellent. We order the Rabbit and suckling pig ( only on Sunday) for main courses. Both were tender, juicy and spectacular! I am so pleased to see the high standards are being maintained. Highly recommend this Denver treasure.
We ordered burrata, whole grilled artichoke , meatball sliders, fig & goat cheese pizza, Luca’s wild mushroom fusilli and cucumber lavender rickey (cocktail). Everything was exceptionally good. We sat in the patio area, our waitress was prompt and service was good. Will definitely come back to try other food!
We came here to celebrate our anniversary. The hosts seems disorganized and when we came to ask if our table was ready they said they would come back down and find us.. which didn’t happen. I am very familiar with open table and you should be using your text features. The bartender was not super friendly. My boyfriend and I were looking at the wine list and noticed both of our menus were different so we asked which one was correct. He grabbed mine and walked away without a word. Our server Nolan gave us incredible service and he saved the night from a service stand point. The food and wine were delicious!
Super awesome food and amazing staff!!
We had to take an early reservation because I was a bit last minute. We were thrilled with the choice. Great food an exceptional waiter. He was attentive and informative. We never felt rushed and got to the ballet on time.
Great service, they were aware of our symphony tickets and got us out on time. Wish Happy Hour menu not just limited to seating at the bar though. Party of 5.
Back in time ambiance with excellent bar type Italian food. Service is very friendly and accommodating. Definately a good experience and fun time.
