We had a family dinner at La Spiga and we all had a great time. We enjoyed every course, the wait staff was excellent and knowledgable, the food was top notch superior, and the ambiance was perfect. It was very relaxing and we didn't feel rushed at all (we were there for quite a while). Thanks for such an enjoyable evening!

This review comes with a slot of thought. We spent time trying to find the best Italian restaurant in Seattle for our one night stay and ended up choosing this restaurant because of reviews on open table and Google.
First of all our waiter was so rude and said he was offended that we would ask about the wines that are being sold in half and whole liters of they were wines on tap in order to serve them this way. They are charging $40 to $80 for wine served in craffes. Wine by the glass is $12 to $20 for 5 oz pours. This seems to be highway robbery to me.
Secondly, it took 90 mins to be served soggy pasta swimming in pasta water and lasagna that looked and tasted like it was 2 days old. Our waiter was not apologetic about the slow service. In hind site I wish we would have talked with the manager. They need to improve food and service to deserve 5 star ratings. I will not go back.

Went here on a Thursday night during Seattle Restaurant Week. Unique dishes we don't normally find on the menu in and Italian restaurant.

La Spiga is amazing!! From the time you step in the door, the entire staff is looking to make sure you’re taken care of! The offerings for Seattle Restaurant Week were superb!! The wine selection is always amazing! Can’t wait to dine at La Spiga again!!

I usually love this place! Restaurant week menu is really underwhelming and our server gave awful service dispite only having two tables. Other staff were great! The menu and our server were not up to par .

I had heard a great review from a friend so I was really optimistic about dining here. However, I was very disappointed in the quality of the food. I ordered the pasta with wild boar and it was so intensely salty I couldn't eat it. I politely explained this to the wait staff who said they would replace it. The next dish came back equally salty. I am not afraid of zest or salt but this made me unable to taste anything other than salt. What a disappointment. I will not be returning; there are too many other good options out there. Sorry.

We had a wonderful dinner! The halibut was on point with a very light spring set. Jeff made some great wine suggestions, the entire staff was very attentive and on point. Beautiful open space and delicious, authentic food. New favorite!

First the good: the sommelier and the server were knowledgeable, professional and courteous. The server really did not know wines and we had to ask for the sommelier who took over. The food disappointed. Entrees are around $30, so you'd expect a "wow" and taste. It just wasn't all that special, or had real authentic flavors and recipes from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy as promised and I know this area well, having lived there. In all fairness, we did not have their pasta, which could be the saving grace. But the marketing pitch is their recipes are authentic. Didn't seem so to me. Presentation was average with most dishes, nothing special, such as a hunk of braised beef with nothing to accompany it. One brown mass. It was served hot, although one person in our group had to wait four minutes for their entree to be served while the others had theirs. Therefore, I cannot recommend this restaurant as being a top tier ristorante Italiano in Seattle, for anyone whom is expecting creativity and special presentations or even real Italian faire. With the exception of the wine list which is a 9, it's a 6 on a 10 scale.

Went due to Seattle Times restaurant week. Fixed price 3 course set menu with 3-4 choices per course.
Food excellent. Service warm & friendly. Large dining room meant that there is room between the tables – which is always nice. Will be back

I've been to this restaurant before and LOVED the food. However, when I went for restaurant week last Tuesday, the two pastas my friend and I ordered (ragu and gnocchi) were really dry/cold. It was a bit disappointing, but it may have just been a busy night.

Found the place on a google search for live jazz, and while not what I had hoped for, it turned out to be a really neat find. Was a piano/cello pair that were fantastic, the waitstaff was appropriately attentive and gave great food recommendations. The food menu prices were affordable, the drinks were a little pricey but very nice. We had a couple glasses of wine that were fantastic. I made the reservation on this site, and called them to add my credit card to the evening as a secret payment. After they lost it and had to call me back to retrieve the card number, they later on comped the drinks we ordered (even though I told them that wasn't necessary). For an introvert that enjoys quieter scenes, it was a good noise level overall - not too loud, and the patronage was also trending a little older than we were (in their 40's, 50's). The hostess was a little rude but nothing too egregious. Cannot wait to go back!

We had reservations for our wedding anniversary, but more than 20-minutes after having been seated, we still had no one take so much as a drink order. We were completely ignored, but we were a little curious if it was possibly because we'd brought our infant son with us and the servers and hostess somehow disapproved.

We promptly departed and went elsewhere.

good Italian food although as a self proclaimed lover of bread was sorta surprised and a bit let down with trying to make the bread fancier than it needed to be.... It was good bread... but not very hearty

great service and setting!

Great food but we had to sit at the bar for 30 minutes while plenty of tables open on a Monday night. Our ticket was not put in and we watched a table get seated as we ate appetizers. They received their meals and finished before we got our main course, which were pastas, so should not have taken that long. We were given free glasses of wine, but were trying to leave to go climbing, so while a nice gesture I didn't want it.

Amazing! There was two guys playing string instrument (romantic music). It felt like an upscale restaurant but with a cool and chill vibe. Beautifully designed. Food was crazy good. Pasta is a must! Prosciutto was the best I’ve ever had. Tiramisu was good. Drinks strong but not too strong where it wasn’t good. Love the experience!!!! Will definitely be back.

I think this could be a really wonderful restaurant--and for most people it is. For me, however, as a transgender person FTM post-transition, I was misgendered through the entire meal and was repeatedly called "ladies" for the entire 90 minute lunch. Let me also mention, I was there with a client for a business meeting, which made it evermore awkward for us both. Food was great, service was okay (our server re-used our wine tasting glasses for our glass pours which is bad, bad form and never refilled our water).

PSA for servers, here are a list of other words:

Folks
Friends
Y'all
You two
You both
Either of you
You all
Etc, etc, etc, etc. There is absolutely no reason to assume someone's gender in a public place.

I hope you work on training your staff toward inclusive language.

Tried Osteria La Spiga on a Friday night and it did not live up to expectations. After being seated, we waited almost 15 minutes before being seen by a server. Cauliflower starter was bland. Waited over an hour after placing our entree order for the entrees to arrive. The table that was seated next to us received their entrees before we received ours. Overall a lot of waiting, terrible service, and just ok food.

The food is great. The lasagna was killer! But...the service was horrible. The server tried but he had to many tables for a Saturday night. We waited almost 30 minutes for our bill and then another 15 for them to run the credit card. Soup didn't have a spoon. No salt on the table. One of our drinks took almost 15 minutes to arrive after everyone else's drink arrived. I wish I could recommend it but not with that kind of service.

I went to La Spiga with two girlfriends and was underwhelmed to say the least. The ambiance was fairly cute, but the restaurant is pretty large and feels indistinguishable from every other Capitol Hill/SLU restaurant. Our waiter was really sweet and the wine list was fine but that's about it. We ordered a starter with ciabatta that was really dry. It was served with plain olive oil, no seasonings, salt, or vinegar. All three of us ordered different pasta dishes which were over cooked and over sauced. I got the tagolini with braised pork. The meat was fine but the sauce didn't taste particularly fresh. The pasta itself was definitely nothing to write home about. My girlfriend's ordered two different types of gnocchi. Both plates had too much sauce and the gnocchi was a little chewy. We ordered tiramisu for dessert. It had way too much sponge cake and not enough mascarpone cheese, leaving the dessert to taste really dry.

I like the food here and the restaurant is in a beautiful building, with a small outdoor area in the back that is nice in the summer. I like the atmosphere and the live piano music is nice. I have been here with friends several times and we often have odd issues with the service. One persistent annoying practice they have is they try to remove plates and glasses from the table before we are done with them, with food still on the plate and non-empty glasses, and leaving the area before we even realize they took it. This is not good service. Please let us finish!!
This particular visit the server had forgotten a salad and made up an excuse that he thought we wanted it later, even though we mentioned nothing of the sort and he brought other salads to the table before the main course. Instead of blaming it on us, a more appropriate response would have been "sorry, I forgot and will try to get it as soon as possible", which would have been understandable.
Other than those annoying service problems, the staff has been very nice and welcoming and it's a nice place for dinner. I will return and keep one hand on my plate until I'm done.
