Took my wife here to celebrate our 1st date anniversary. Great place, great food and Nick was awesome!!
We brought a birthday party here and the service was excellent! The live music was a nice touch as we dined on some excellent & authentic Italian food.
Seated quickly, attentive staff, delicious food. The steak was tender and full of flavor.
Great food but we had to sit at the bar for 30 minutes while plenty of tables open on a Monday night. Our ticket was not put in and we watched a table get seated as we ate appetizers. They received their meals and finished before we got our main course, which were pastas, so should not have taken that long. We were given free glasses of wine, but were trying to leave to go climbing, so while a nice gesture I didn't want it.
Amazing! There was two guys playing string instrument (romantic music). It felt like an upscale restaurant but with a cool and chill vibe. Beautifully designed. Food was crazy good. Pasta is a must! Prosciutto was the best I’ve ever had. Tiramisu was good. Drinks strong but not too strong where it wasn’t good. Love the experience!!!! Will definitely be back.
Wonderful top notch casual Italian restaurant that offsets Capitol Hill frustration. Tavern Law after. :-)
I think this could be a really wonderful restaurant--and for most people it is. For me, however, as a transgender person FTM post-transition, I was misgendered through the entire meal and was repeatedly called "ladies" for the entire 90 minute lunch. Let me also mention, I was there with a client for a business meeting, which made it evermore awkward for us both. Food was great, service was okay (our server re-used our wine tasting glasses for our glass pours which is bad, bad form and never refilled our water).
PSA for servers, here are a list of other words:
Either of you
Etc, etc, etc, etc. There is absolutely no reason to assume someone's gender in a public place.
I hope you work on training your staff toward inclusive language.
Love it!!!! Ask to sit in Jeff’s section, he is amazing!
You can't ask for much more than great food, top notch service and an enjoyable atmosphere.
Jeff was a great server! Food always perfect.
Eh. Nothing special. Too bad
La Spiga is easily one of the best restaurants I have dined at in the Seattle area.
Great restaurant. We sat at 7 pm and stayed until 11 pm, just enjoying ourselves and our company. We were never rushed or pushed by the wait staff. The ambiance here is excellent.
Menu was authentic, food was good, service was great!
Tried Osteria La Spiga on a Friday night and it did not live up to expectations. After being seated, we waited almost 15 minutes before being seen by a server. Cauliflower starter was bland. Waited over an hour after placing our entree order for the entrees to arrive. The table that was seated next to us received their entrees before we received ours. Overall a lot of waiting, terrible service, and just ok food.
The food is great. The lasagna was killer! But...the service was horrible. The server tried but he had to many tables for a Saturday night. We waited almost 30 minutes for our bill and then another 15 for them to run the credit card. Soup didn't have a spoon. No salt on the table. One of our drinks took almost 15 minutes to arrive after everyone else's drink arrived. I wish I could recommend it but not with that kind of service.
I went to La Spiga with two girlfriends and was underwhelmed to say the least. The ambiance was fairly cute, but the restaurant is pretty large and feels indistinguishable from every other Capitol Hill/SLU restaurant. Our waiter was really sweet and the wine list was fine but that's about it. We ordered a starter with ciabatta that was really dry. It was served with plain olive oil, no seasonings, salt, or vinegar. All three of us ordered different pasta dishes which were over cooked and over sauced. I got the tagolini with braised pork. The meat was fine but the sauce didn't taste particularly fresh. The pasta itself was definitely nothing to write home about. My girlfriend's ordered two different types of gnocchi. Both plates had too much sauce and the gnocchi was a little chewy. We ordered tiramisu for dessert. It had way too much sponge cake and not enough mascarpone cheese, leaving the dessert to taste really dry.
I like the food here and the restaurant is in a beautiful building, with a small outdoor area in the back that is nice in the summer. I like the atmosphere and the live piano music is nice. I have been here with friends several times and we often have odd issues with the service. One persistent annoying practice they have is they try to remove plates and glasses from the table before we are done with them, with food still on the plate and non-empty glasses, and leaving the area before we even realize they took it. This is not good service. Please let us finish!!
This particular visit the server had forgotten a salad and made up an excuse that he thought we wanted it later, even though we mentioned nothing of the sort and he brought other salads to the table before the main course. Instead of blaming it on us, a more appropriate response would have been "sorry, I forgot and will try to get it as soon as possible", which would have been understandable.
Other than those annoying service problems, the staff has been very nice and welcoming and it's a nice place for dinner. I will return and keep one hand on my plate until I'm done.
We'll definitely come back.

Osteria la Spiga never disappoints and they once again made my birthday special. They have a wonderful wine list, but also welcomed the bottle I brought from my personal wine collection. Their menu is delicious for those without dietary requirements, but they also offer vegetarian and vegan options, plus gluten free pasta and breads too. Great for a mixed group of friends or a lovely Italian date for two.
Great Happy Hour small plates and wine offerings! Terrific, helpful, and attentive service.
We chose La Spiga for a farewell dinner for our Italian exchange student - service/attitude was poor - food was late, but worse, they made excuses rather than simply apologizing for it. The attitude: we're busy, your food is caught up because of a larger private party (which seemed to take priority), and what we chose took too long to prepare (presumably our fault?!?) Thankfully the manager stepped in at the end of our dinner to try and smooth things over. Sadly it was too late, and we had to leave, although his attempt was appreciated.
Delicious food, very good service
Wonderful buttery truffle pasta--reminded me of being in Italy! Monday night is happy hour all night--cheers!
This is our go-to date night spot! The prices are very reasonable and the food never disappoints. The pastas are so fresh and delicious!
Pleased with the above-average (for Seattle) service.
A perfect evening with perfect food and service‼️
Great spot with great food. Fun ambiance for larger groups. We really enjoy Osteria La Spiga!
Great business lunch option to step away from the city noise and hustle. Lasagna and prosciutto panini are fantastic!
Love this place. The service & food's always great. A little on the pricey side but worth it in my opinion.
Always a great place not my first rodeo
Great lively ambiance in a unique space. The service is usually very good as well. The food is good, about a B+.
Our dinner there on Friday evening was right up there with one of the best dining experiences we've had in this city in a LONG time. Our server was not only wonderful, but extremely knowledgeable about the menu, and especially the wine list. He made recommendations, and even had us try a few different wines that he thought we would enjoy. His service was prompt and genuine. We brought someone from the East Coast with us before she flew out and she was thoroughly impressed. Whatever you are doing, please continue it!
I mentioned our anniversary when I made the reservation but they seemed completely unaware of it (server didn't say anything- it would even be nice if the person at the front desk acknowledged it).
Our reservation was at 6:30 and we were on time. Food didn't come until 7:30. Our waitress Heather (who, by the way, was terrific) apologized, saying they had a wedding party upstairs.
Portions are WAY, WAY too small. I ordered butternut squash ravioli and could have had another whole serving and I'm not that big an eater.
Good food but overpriced. If you are ok with the prices, you’ll have a good dinner.
Excellent authentic north Italian cuisine with fresh home made pastas. The service is always good. Due to the very high curved ceiling the noise level is higher than average. A bit pricey for pasta but worth it.
The staff was very accommodating and on top of things, which made the evening very smooth. Our server Jeff was very knowledgeable of their menu very professional. He helped to make our celebration of the new year perfect. The food was very good too for that price, probably coming down to individual preferences and experiences for comparison. There was also live music playing jazz on piano accompanied by a female singer. It made few of us get up and dance.
Overall, this place is a very safe bet if you like Italian food and want to have highly enjoyable experience. Just be aware the noise level is a little bit higher if you prefer more intimate setting - however, I can't say it was in any way disturbing or unpleasant or too loud to have a conversation.
The food was wonderful & the service was too! Can’t wait to go back again :)
Such a magical space! Staff and food were great! Definitely try the Tagliolini al Fume!
