Went for the Happy Hour that was advertised online...$5 pizzettas and $5 selection of beer and wine. This was not what they offered. The bartender was very curt with us about the specials when I asked about what I had read online. Very inattentive service as well. Poor experience all around, which is regrettable as I was looking forward to checking this place out.

We frequently go out and dine as we live in River North. This is one of our favorite spot but first time for 2 for 1 pizza Monday. It was great deal and pizza was delicious plus cocktail was good. Only thing we were disappointed was the bartender wasn't attentive at all. (We sat at bar). He was busy talking to female customer but seemed forgot our order and made my stake on our bill. We saw he made a mistake on another customers at the bar as well. But I gave 4 star for service just because another person (maybe manager?) was following up on delay of our food and very friendly.

Our server Andy was simply the best. Took care of our every need and made the entire night more memorable. We had a drink at bar prior to sitting and the bartender was the exact opposite, but I couldn't tell you his name because all he did was grunt the 20 minutes we were there. Two take out orders came in to pick up and he was rude to them also. Quite frankly, we were worried at this point. Thank goodness, we gave the dining room a shot. Andy made our night and the food was great. We shared a meat and cheese plate, two salads, four pastas and a pizza. Everything was spot on. Two of us were from out of town, but the other four were from nearby suburbs and said they would be returning for sure. We will return on our next trip to Chicago for sure!

As it should be the food was the star of the show on this evening. We enjoyed multiple selections from the restaurant week menu and found everything to be well prepared and presented. The homemade pasta dishes were particularly notable. Service was solid, but not exceptional. The noise of the restaurant made it challenging, though not impossible, to have a conversation.

The pizza was very good, service not good. We also ordered a pasta, came cold, but they did replace, took a long time and did comp the pasta. I think they need to hire more staff. It was crowded in the back of the restaurant and they could not keep service timely. Definitely think the pizza is good, also sit in the bar area, not as noisy!

I cannot say enough great things about Osteria La Madia! They make their own gluten free crust from scratch and its better than what we've had in Italy and Eataly. Everything was very fresh with excellent balance of flavors. Our server was quite attentive to my wifes food allergies beyond her gluten senstivity and didn't rush us which was nice and relaxing. Gluten sensitivities or not, the pie here is excellent and we look forward to return many times.

Went here for Restaurant Week and to celebrate a birthday. Food was amazing. The only thing that brought down my overall experience was the service. I was given the wrong meal by mistake (something with squash which i am allergic to) i let my server know and instead of just going back to fix it he repeatedly told me that wasn't what he wrote down. On top of that it was very slow. I am all for a food experience but 30 minutes between each course and no server to be found during each lapse was a little annoying. Overall I would definitely be willing to try again here as service can change. It is worth is alone for the spinach and cheese fondue.

Came here after the remodel with high expectations- food was bland and not good. Service was HORRIBLE. We waited and waited to put in every order and we were sitting for 30 minutes before being acknowledged. At the end of our meal (around 11:15pm), it became clear that we weren't wanted there and all of a sudden the server who had barely approached us all night long, came back twice within 15 mins to see if we were ready to "wrap things up" We left behind almost a whole uneaten pizza and left without even being offered desert. Naturally, we went elsewhere to get what we missed out on. Won't be going back and extremely disappointed. It was suggested that I check this place out for a small family gathering I was thinking of, but I'm really glad I didn't bring my family here before trying it out.

While it was unusually cold outside, it was to the point of being uncomfortable inside. Couldn't have been over 60 degrees. The tomato soup was nice, but my three pepperoni pizza barely had enough cheese to cover the dough, even though I asked for double cheese. I'm sure they have better days, but I was a bit disappointed I used up one of my only three evenings in Chicago here.
