   The restaurant has a very cozy feel . The menu selections were disappointing to me. I’m not too fussy but found it hard to find something that sounded good to me. There were 4 of us and we started with a cheese platter that was reasonably priced and actually quite good. I got the pasta with chunks of salmon for my entree. I was very disappointed. Very little flavor...it just tasted fishy. The menu is non traditional, in my opinion. I was hoping for some Italian classics and there were none on the menu. There was no chicken cacciatore, chicken piccata, lasagna...etc. The restaurant was full, so I would imagine the menu appeals to many, just not me. My husband and I split a tiramisu for dessert, and it was excellent. One more thing....our waiter was incredible. He was friendly and polite. He did a great job and is an asset to the restaurant. If the menu was a little more of what I am used to, I would go back....but if it is successful as is, why change😊

   This is our favorite spot, but not in the Summer. Two of our dishes were very bland and the salmon with the pasta didn't have the lemon, garlic and white wine sauce on it. We never complain, I don't know why. The past with the eggplant puree was also bland and missing flavor. The carbonara was excellent. Wish I had ordered that. Oh well! We will go again, however, in the Fall

   Really dissapointed in this restaurant after reading great reviews. Nothing authentic italian in our experience. Being Italian I expected more . The bruschetta should be bursting with flavors but with little tomatoes and a grilled cheese over it it is far from authentic ...the caprese with burrata had a bitter taste and I had to send back the tortollone with squash filling and butter sage dressing. It was horrible ..the home made pasta was thick and dense and the butter sage heavy..The server, an older gentlemen ignored the reason I was sending it back and brought me a plate of spaghetti with a simple tomato sauce that I ordered in its place which wasnt that bad. He even asked if he should pack the tortollone to go and even when i gave him an emphatic no he pretended to be oblivious and to add insult to injury when the bill came he even charged for the dish I had sent back. I dont ever give bad reviews but felt I had to in this case.

   The wait staff looked a little nervous when they first saw our party of seven including a six year old and a three year old. They sighed with relief, however, when the adults ordered martinis and a board of cold cuts and cheese. The waitress was friendly and attentive, atmosphere warm and inviting, the noise level a bit energetic. The key to our successful dinner, however, was the food. Best lasagna Bolognese and spaghetti carbonara we have ever eaten. A bottle of pinot noir was light and moderately priced. Outstanding gelato, sorbet, and tiramisu. And the grand kids enjoyed their pasta with butter and oil and pasta with tomato sauce. Two of us were dining at Osteria la Civetta for a second time. All agreed that we would return. Make reservations well in advance. The restaurant is a gem.

    Excellent meal. The pesto pasta was the best I’ve had in years, so fresh. Grilled eggplant and zucchini were divine. Can’t wait to go back!
