Osteria La Buca
What Insiders Are Saying
A classic neighborhood spot, with pasta worth driving across the city for.
Absolutely loved my experience here
Great place. We will be back again.
Great food and a great vibe for date night. Definitely would recommend!
The food was off the charts good. This was my first time for dinner but brunch is great as well. We sat on stools against a mirrored wall due to flooding, so it wasn’t as relaxing as it could have been. Not their fault. But service definitely could have been better. I give them a pass because the food was really that good. I will return.
Great valentine’s day date. She had the bolognese pasta and enjoyed it. I had the steak and frites and it was fantastic. Ordered a classic pizza with prosciutto for an appetizer, also really good stuff.
The food was amazing. We ordered the meatballs, carbonara, and bolognese. Cocktails were great too! Will definitely come back!!
We love Osteria La Buca. Been coming here for years and they have figured out how to keep things fresh but familiar. One of our favorite date night out spots.
Why too noisy. Table and chair against a door with a handle seemed an after thought.
Very uncomfortable. Won't go back
Amazing food, great service & super cute space. Had such a great time.
Always a great meal here!
Always the best! I've been coming to Osteria La Buca for years always leaving wanting more. There are so many favorites it's hard to chose just one; the carbonara, pappardelle, short rib ravioli or the rigatoni?!
Great wine list and the cocktails are always spot on! Thank you for consistently making each meal "special." See ya next time around!
The food was the heaviest Italian food I've ever eaten. It was very bland and it produced an uncomfortable feeling hours later. The seafood in my pasta was overcooked and chewy. Not desireable.
Been here a couple of times and both were very enjoyable. We sampled a lot and everything was well made with quality ingredients and quite tasty. They make a delicious bucatini carbonara by the way!
staff is all very nice and attentive. We were the last seated and never felt rushed to leave, even though we were literally the last people in house, which is very nice. I will go back.
Grabbed a quick dinner before a concert at the Wiltern. Excellent dishes including a gluten free pasta.
Outstanding, as always. It was my birthday/proposal to my lady, and there was no other spot even on the list. La Buca is the best! We are moving out of the area, but will be in whenever we can!
Staff was courteous but inexperienced but the food was very good and the prices are terrific.
Loved the food!!
The homemade ricotta with toast is amazing. The music is a little loud. the servers are very well trained.
Great food, great ambience. Tried to sit next to my Gf and was told “we don’t do side by side” that was kinda strange but otherwise...
Great food, great service, a little pricey and WAY TOO LOUD!!!
We’ve been enthusiastic regulars for some years now but the last 3 visits haven’t been up to previous standards. We asked if it was under new management and the response was that the owner wasnt as involved as in the past. Too bad. It shows. Still good but no longer running at the front of a very crowded pack.
Food is amazing, service was good, my only complaint is that we had to move tables a couple of times because we were upstairs and they have the AC AND heater going on at the same time, and the people that were sitting underneath the machines complained that is was to warm, so then they just left the AC blowing, and that made it really cold, people upstairs were wearing their jackets! I asked to be moved downstairs, and they were accommodating. So it all worked out!
Best Italian food in Los Angeles, super friendly staff, great ambiance!
Food was amazing. Pork meatballs are a must. The famous carbonara was a little more saucey than we expected, might try to order it "light on the sauce" next time. It was very rich so we were glad we also ordered the bolognese, which was perfection. We had a bottle of cab, and next time may bring our own since there's free corkage with the purchase of a bottle (would be better if there was free corkage in general, or it was less than $20). Service was great.
Only downside was we were seated at a single table next between two other single tables, very close together. I felt like we were at dinner with strangers, it was so close. Wish it was more roomy or we had had a better seat... service was good and attentive but that really detracted from the mood.
Everything about our dining experience was very good. As soon as we walked in, we had 3 people greeting us and wanting to take care of us. We were seated and both given a menu. Ordered the house made ricotta (MUST HAVE) and Italian creamed spinach to start. Both were amazing and my husband fell in love with both (he usually doesn’t eat vegetables so I was surprised he liked the creamed spinach so much). My husband ordered the bucatini carbonara and after one bite, was hooked. I ordered the papardelle bolognese without the pecorino. So much flavor and so filling!! We were constantly checked on to make sure everything was okay or if we needed anything. Our water glasses never made it to empty bc someone was always there to fill it up even if it was halfway full. Only downside is the parking. We decided to valet our car but saw our car was parked across the street. We could have done that ourselves if we wanted instead of paying $9+tip for valet. Oh well. My husbands new favorite spot for pasta so we will definitely be back again!
Simple but delicous food. Excellent service. Definitely going back.
The food has been delicious every time I’ve been here and it has a nice atmosphere.
Book online to get a bite to eat, upon arrival we had to wait to be seated - about 15 mins. We were quickly rewarded with the ricotta appertizer on the house to apologise for the inconvenience. Fantastic customer service & really understanding. The pasta was incredible! I had the bolognaise & my parter the carbonara. My favourite was the salted caramel desert!! The prices were incredibly reasonable for such quality. Will be back again when in LA!!
Great authentic Italian place!
High level of service and top quality of food.
Definitely recommend to go.
This is our favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. The food is outstanding.Everything they make is fresh, homemade and absolutely delicious.
Fantastic food and service and atmosphere.
We are biased as we got a terrible table. Wasn’t a fan of bread in a small paper bag being placed on the table, the presentation was off. Overall the entrees were fair. The highlight was the ricotta and jam starter along with the airated brownie mousse. Apart from that the meal wasn’t worth the price. The ambiance ruined the meal—no one wants to hear ac/dc while drinking wine by candlelight.
Love this place! It’s our favorite date night spot. If you get the the pleasure of being served by Guillermo you’ll definitely have a great experience.
By chance all five of us ordered the branzino and it was outstanding.
Beat neighborhood restaurant.
This was my second time at the restaurant. Excellent food, so delicious. The service is great and I did not feel rushed.
Upstairs is quieter than downstairs. Food is always delicious!
Absolutely delicious. The ricotta, mixed lettuces salad, bolognese, and sausage pasta were ALL FANTASTIC. We celebrated our anniversary here, and JANELLE made us feel most special. Hats off to ethe entire staff from front of house to the kitchen. We can’t recommend this place any more highly!
Delicious meal! I highly recommend the chocolate mousse for dessert. It is chocolate heaven. Great service! Very enjoyable dinner experience.
