Wonderful dinner. Our waiter Marcus took excellent care of us. He had great food recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed this gem. Worth driving 2 miles from downtown.
Escargot ravioli was to die for!
Excellent service and delicious dishes. The food was prepared very nicely and the portions were just right. This was my second visit and it was just as memorable as the first. A very nice way to celebrate a special occasion. Worth the trip from Southern California.
Team went the extra yard to rearrange tables to suit our group size. Big thanks, was a great evening! Andy
Excellent high end Italian food. Subtle, delicious, authentic but at the same time creative. Very attentive service and a good vibe all around. In nice weather the outdoor area is charming.
We arrived early for our reservation but were still quickly seated. The restaurant was quiet and the setting was comfortable. Our waiter was attentive and had some great recommendations for us since this was our first visit. The mussels were very good as was the fava bean salad. The escargot ravioli and duck confit were spot on. Overall a great experience. Definitely worth a return visit.
For the price of the food, we found garlic peel in one of the dishes and the server acted like that it was normal. Very disappointed!
Always yummy. The chef knows how to balance flavor and flow with seasonal products.
I booked a dinner here to celebrate my one year anniversary with my husband. We've been to Osteria a year prior and loved the overall feel and food. In my reservation, I asked if they could play a song for my partner and I. I didn't think there was a way since there was no sound system, but before desert our waitress played my request on her phone! We highly appreciated her efforts in making our night so special.
The items on the menu are on the pricier end and some dishes are small compared to others so understand what you're ordering. At night they turn on the lights outside and it's beautiful, but be wary of the potential bugs flying around. Overall I would highly recommend Osteria if you're looking for an intimate, higher-end and delicious meal. Definitely try the creme brule!
Outstanding lunch with a special friend. Food was tops and service was efficient and very friendly.
There were only 5 or 6 table occupied that evening, so poor service cannot be blamed on them being busy. It was our wedding aniversary, so that is why we went out on a Monday. Our waiter was clueless about italian food and generally inattentive. After we ordered he came back to tell me they were out of main dish i ordered. After we finished the appetizers, he came to the table and said he would bring bread! All other tables had had their a long time ago! He took his time on this, so the bread came as i was finishing my main dish! He also poured sparkling water and then proceded to take the cap, so whatever was left in the bottle was no longer sparkling. The poor service however paled in comparison to the (lack of ) food quality. I had mussels: they were not fresh (many of the did not open when cooked) and the sauce was heavy . The main course was salmon, which came with 4 pieces of asparagus. The fish was ok but underseasoned and was difficult to eat without as little as a slice of lemon. The whole dish felt heavy. For dessert my husband tried the chocolate salami; was very fey, looked like they had it for a while in the fridge. Highly overpriced. Finally, the bill included an extra 2 glasses of wine, that our server removed eventually, but he was supercasual about it. It is the type of experience who makes one wonder why leave tip at all. Spending almost 200 for a meal for 2 should warrant a better experince than this. I cannot imagine wanting to go back.
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience dining outside at Osteria Fasulo. Our server Bessie was knowledgeable and very personable. Enjoyed all of our dishes, most notably the pappardelle. Look forward to returning next time we are in the area.
Simply outstanding!!! Can’t say enough this was by far one of the best restaurant I have visited.
Absolutely amazing menu and food. Mateo our waiter was very knowedgable about the wines and the excellent cuisine. Wonderful service. What a gem!! Searching for a restaurant to have dinner before an event at the Robert Mondavi Center. I took a chance and I found it online and I'm so glad I did!! Outstanding!!
We got a preview of the upcoming menu and loved our avocado pesto pasta! We look forward to the rest of the menu!
A very pleasant dining experience on a Friday night. Appetizer dishes with scallops and shrimp were delicious. Garden salads, refreshing and gnocchi special was very nice. Paired with a yummy Rosso di Montalcino. Wife loved the berry crepes for dessert. Server Mateo was attentive and personable. We’ll return!
Great food, small restaurant but well worth it
Amazing food. The salmon was outstanding. A little noisy because the restaurant was full and a family with kids were at the next table. Service was excellent!!
The meal was delightful. I have been many times for dinner but this was the first time for lunch. The linen tablecloths and excellent service made for a very special meal. Our server Mark was wonderful.
Consistently reliable, especially recently. Nicely remodeled, making the ambiance more pleasant. Food, especially the seafood (scallops and fish of the day) and the fresh pastas, were excellent. Good selection of Italian wines (and CA too), spanning a wide price range. More expensive than local restaurants, but it's the best in Davis/Winters/Sac.
We traveled 70 miles to try the food here and to meet friends who traveled as much from the opposite direction. It was well worth the trip. The food and service was excellent. We broke our usual budget but we will do it again as the food was outstanding.
The dining experience here is about as close to perfect as you can get in Davis. The serving staff is knowledgeable and impeccably trained. The food and ambiance is decidedly Italian, through and through, which makes this a perfect spot for romance. I always say, you know you're in Europe when the first question they ask you is "sparkling water or still?" Get a table under the grapevines and don't be in a hurry. They'll start you with a chef's taste from the kitchen and tempt you to linger with their imported desserts.
We have been going to Osteria for years now. We really enjoy dining with friends in the outdoor seating when the weather is nice. The food is always wonderful, the staff is super nice, and the service is great. We highly recommend it to everyone!
Exceptional meal ticked away in an unassuming location. The personal service and intimacy of the restaurant make you feel like a special guest in someone’s home.
If you LOVE Italian food and an amazing menu that will tantalize your taste buds, then this is the place to be!
Gnocchi with porcini mushrooms -exquisitely light and full flavored.
Beet salad gently dressed to perfection.
Seared ahi perfectly prepared for maximum enjoyment.
Lovely meal shared with and old friend!
We enjoyed the True Italian cuisine, white tablecloths and attention to detail! Can’t wait to return!
A nice meal, however my seat was near the kitchen which resulted in lots of kitchen crosstalk hitting my right ear as I was trying to hear my wife talk from across the table for two. Really enjoyed the clams and mussels though.
It was fantastic! The food was outstanding. We will go back again. We sat outside and our waiter was very attentive to our table. Highly recommend it.
Excellent and authentic Italian food. Incredible desserts that are creative within the Italian tradition.
Amazing outdoor set up !
A local "gem" this is always a good choice for a special occasions, that is getting more consistent and better each year. The scallops appetizer, truffled gnocchi and lobster ravioli were outstanding.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary with a late reservation and had a great experience. We had been to this restaurant once before but had sat outside on that occasion, so this was our first time dining inside. The space was intimate and quaint. The service was friendly and attentive. Our waitress offered tastings of the wines and provided recommendations for our meal. The restaurant emptied but we were never made to feel pressured to wrap things up. They even brought us a complimentary dessert in recognition of our anniversary. We will definitely return.
Amazing! Patricia was a delight and the food was spectacular. We split the pasta dishes and that worked well.
Special holiday dinner out with the family. Mateo was an excellent waiter. We shared oysters, scallops, roasted tomato caprese salad, beat salad, fettuccine, gnocchi, duck, and ciopinno, all delicious and all left full and happy.
Great food and wine; very attentative server. Good selection on the menu.
We had exceptional service from a young, dark-haired woman whose parents own a bakery in town. But then, we have always had exceptional service. The food was wonderful. We love eating in the courtyard in the summer, but the dining room is quite nice in the winter.
We loved the evening and look forward to another . I have had dinner and lunch there and both were outstanding.
This was our third visit to OF. The first two times were wonderful, so not sure what happened this time. After being seated, we waited almost 15 minutes before being handed menus. Our wine service was poor and intermittent. The food was disappointing, with salty gnocchi, bland pasta arrabiata, and goopy over-sauced pesto linguine. For the price we paid, it was pretty bad. One bright spot: a delicious creme brûlée. I don't think we'll be going back there. Sad.
I have been there several times and never disappointed. One of the best Italian restaurants in the region...
Pricy, but worth every penny. Come here for a special occasion.
