The restaurant's garden is a lovely place for an alfresco lunch. Our group of three had 2 salads and one pasta dish, along with the delicious amuse-bouche and a shared crème brûlee. Our waiter was outstanding in attention to detail and prompt service.
We sat outside because it was a beautiful evening; so, the noise level was much better than inside, even with the boisterous group next to us. Our server, Patricia, was wonderful -- very attentive and very informative. And the food was terrific!!
We had a great anniversary dinner. J was a great server and the food was delicious, we’ll definitely be coming back!
Dining outside on a warm fall evening at Osteria Fasulo is casual, relaxing and elegant at the same time. Our food was perfect and Mateo, our waiter, was quietly friendly, informative, enthusiastic and meticulous. In addition to what we ordered, there were complimentary appetizers and a sweet bite of merengue with a fruit center before dessert and a glass of limoncello or sambuca to finish.
Most amazing meal we have had is such a long time. It was surprising what they could do with my polenta a mushroom entree. The textures and flavors were Unbelievable!
The dinner was outstanding, as was the service from Matteo. Such a great place and a wonderful ambience.
The food was wonderful, as usual. We had the pulpo (octopus) that was very tasty, along with the veal, salmon and the osso buco. All were excellent.
The waiter was beyond patient with my daughter who asked many questions to assess the presence of gluten or dairy. After the third round, she fessed up to her restrictions and the waiter never failed to be totally solicitous. So, she got a dish that was suitable and we all enjoyed the evening.
The outside courtyard reminds me of a country restaurant somewhere in Tuscany. Service great food great - highly recommend for a quiet relaxed dinner experience just like in the old country.
Some of the best Italian food anywhere, not just Davis or Sacramento or even Northern California. It's such a special place, a true gem!
Always fabulous! Great cuisine and staff. This is our go-to restaurant for celebrations and just a night out.
Creative Italian food, California style, on the most beautiful outdoor patio in Davis, adjacent to the charming Village Homes neighborhood.
The seasonal menu are always great. The wine list is varied and a good value.
RU Serious? Fasulo is Fab! The food is top notch. We are foodies and have dined at many Michelin rated places and Fasulo's presentation and taste is at least at par with those places without the outrageous prices. We love the fact that this little jewel is tucked away in Davis. We always look forward to our reservation. From appetizers, primi, secondi, and desserts, it's all delicious. We recommend you sample and share. Yummy.
This is my go to place for a very nice dinner. Everything was fabulous, ambiance, food, attention to detail.
The food was very good here and we loved sitting outside near the vineyard. It felt very much like being in Italy. The only real criticism is the cost of the meal - we paid $125 for two people and we had one salad, two pasta entrees, two glasses of wine, and dessert. It was a little steep.
Fantastic food, people, outside venue, just perfect!
My date and I shared our food. The dishes were nicely prepared and very delicious.
Our waiter, Matteo was superb and helpful when it came to choosing our food.
He presented a dessert treat to my date who was celebrating her birthday. Also we ate outside on a perfect night.I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to all of my family and friends.
The outdoor seating is quiet and allows for good conversation. Tables and chairs are rustic. The food is outstanding. The risotto was perfectly prepared and the salads freshest.
The outdoor area was very disappointing. Dry and dusty, tables, chairs and the ground covered with dry leaves and the planters bone dry and plants drooping. Not welcoming! Having said that, we opted for the inside as it was very warm outside.
Always fantastic food and service - truly a hidden gem.
Very attentive service, great menu plus evening specials, top quality, fresh ingredients in every dish, super wine list, great place for a celebration.
Food was delicious. Staff was attentive. Really enjoy that its off the beaten path.
Always top service when we go here. Special touches like a sample bruschetta and at the end a “goodnight kiss” meringue bite w fruit topping. First class restaurant!
They had closed when we came to celebrate my wife's birthday. They had not said that they works till 9pm, while my reservation was at 9pm. They called me to confirm reservation 30 min earlier i came by taxy from another part of city and went back. It is my wife worst birthday. She has not still forgiven me
We had an outstanding meal. The clam and mussel appetizer was superb, as were the gnocchi and pasta. Great dessert too. And or waiter, Jay, was excellent, perfect service and just the right tone.
This is certainly the best restaurant in Davis.. It has an outdoor court which is wonderful place to sit out on a warm summer night place . the food is excellent as is the service
The food is not inexpensive but is always very tasty and interesting. Tables in the outdoor garden add much charm to an evening of dining. Service is friendly, knowledgeable and not intrusive. Osteria Fasulo compares very favorably to the best European dining experiences.
Very unique, very authentic, very good food. Summer is nice because the outdoor seating is special. I know it is intended to be rustic but in my opinion the garden area could be a bit better maintained. Service was good and the atmosphere very nice.
The good was good. The prices were too high. We sat outside. The outside space had high points. Seating underneath a grape arbor!!!. Very nice, but the overgrown rose bush very near to me was overgrown as was most of the out door plants. Two lovely water fountains!!! But, the outside lighting was cheesy and old. Nice decomposed granite on the ground. The area has great potential!! I’m only being picky because the waitstaff seemed pushy about trying to get us to order multiple courses. And for the price of the food and the style of the food there should have been tablecloths outside. It really looked more appropriate for a pizza joint. To be fair, I did not see the indoor dining room. It may have been perfection!;) The house salad was $12.00 and consisted of greens and a ton of dressing. (Who does THAT anymore?)The bread was delicious as was the topping they served along side. The salad was presented in a Parmesan “bowl”. Labor intense but different and tasty. I had the ravioli stuffed with escargot. Delicious!! My husband had the risotto. It was so-so. Too soupy.
The had thoughtful “extras”. A little crostini with bean spread topped with half tomato as a chef starter. At the end of the meal we received their “goodnight kiss” which consisted of a tiny meringue with a spot of raspberry in a spoon as well as a pony of kumquat liqueur. Sweet ending.
Lovely outdoor courtyard and very good food. Appreciated server’s knowledge of dishes, serving size, etc. The whole experience was a bit rushed, as server asked for dinner orders before we even had a chance to order a glass of wine! We asked for wine and an appetizer before we ordered entrees and this slowed the pace. Not a super experienced server, maybe? Very creative dishes and nice preparation and flavor. Bread was delicious, as was a shared dessert. Nice atmosphere. We would dine here again when we’re back in town.
The dinner was lovely and the service was great.
I love this Restaurant but it looks to have into the arms of Amateurs. The Menu has lost its creativity and the service its sharpness. Someone needs to step in a save this fine jewel before lost to memory.
We've eaten at Osteria Fasulo several times and have enjoyed the whole experience. This time, there were some things that disappointed us. First, in the past we've been offered a free glass of Prosecco. Assuming this was still the case, we said yes. Imagine our surprise at seeing $30 charge for the Prosecco! Second, the food was not so good as before. The faro salad had only a very few grains of faro. The pasta in my dinner was over cooked. In the past we've gotten a small dessert when we've said we were celebrating our anniversary. This time we had to pay for it
We probably will go again, but I'm not so sure was I was before.
A lovely restaurant with good food and attentive service. I would definitely come back!
The BC oysters were tiny but very tasty. The ravioli was as usual wonderful and the bread matched well. A nice bottle Zin topped off another great meal under the grape vines.
Osteria Fasulo never disappoints! It is the only Italian restaurant that we have dined in the US that tastes just like Italy. Always fresh and delicious. It is a family run local gem. They change the menu seasonally and specials daily. The outdoor garden is quiet, beautiful and dog friendly. We love Osteria Fasulo! I have nothing but wonderful things to say about it. The fresh fish is always simple and perfect. The veal scallopini is my favorite. Highly recommend!
Great. Wonderful food and service
38 dollars for a charcuterie and cheese plate is steep...very steep. I haven't paid this much for a cheese plate even in San Francisco. Especially when there was 5 dollars worth of meet and cheese.
This was our first time coming and the food was delicious! I'm looking forward to my next dining experience!
I really like Osteria Fasulo. Some of their dishes are superb, some or kind of weird, good but nothing fantastic. I think with time one gets to know what their specialities are. Service is excellent and everything else is fine.
