Fantastic food and wine! I have yet to taste a dish I didn’t like here.
Great food and a wonderful atmosphere. Very enjoyable!
It was ok. Nothing extraordinary. Wine corkage was way too high (25.00) for wine purchased at the retail section of eataly should just be a 10.00 service charge.
Arancini was dry and needed a sauce. Cheese board needed more bread. Service was ok. There is better Italian nearby.
I made reservations weeks ago. We were seated in a not so favorable area. When we asked to move closer to the window in a more open area, we were told they were all spoken for, but they agreed to move us a little more central. As we were seated we noticed 3 empty tables in the area we wanted to be in. They stayed open for almost the entire time we were there. Not sure why they insisted that we couldn’t be moved there, but for whatever reason, they didn’t budge. Very disappointing.
It’s a nice quick place for a pasta dinner. There are definitely more authentic and higher quality Italian places in Chicago but for something tasty, quick and under $30/person, this is a solid choice.
A little slice of heaven. Blah, blah, blah, blah,
The food and service in the dining room were very good. My low rating was about masking and attitude throughout the Eataly store. We are in the midst of significantly worsening COVID 19 virus because of the delta variant. In the dining room, some servers wore masks; others did not. On the first floor, behind the counters for candy and sorbet, the workers were either unmasked or wore their masks under their chins or noses. When we asked them to mask before serving us, they copped horrible attitudes and argued with us, then removed their masks as soon as they finished serving us. Likewise, behind the other service counters - coffee and deli - some workers were masked and others weren't. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for the protective behavior towards Eataly's customers. This shows an utter lack of training and supervision of the employees of Eataly during this deadly pandemic. We will not return.
It was great but our appetizer came out with our food. Other than that, it was fantastic.
Anthony and all the servers were remarkably personable and attentive!
Ate here with my kids. Overall they were happy with it.
As always Eataly was excellent. I wish we lived closer to go more often, but we still try to make it 2-3x a year as a special treat for the family. We love their Gluten Frienly options, the quality authentic Italian food, and the fun ambiance. We always go downstairs to pick out dessert after dinner and like browsing the wine section, cheeses, and great selection of quality ingredients. For special occasions there are fancier (and more expensive) restaurants, but this is the one we still love the best.
Outstanding and authentic food in a casual but pleasant ambiance with the electricity of Eataly. Can't wait to get back.
Very knowledgeable and attentive server. Delicious meal! Love Eataly!
We went to Chicago for the day and had a late lunch early dinner at Osteria di Eataly. The Aperol Spritz was delicious and the charcuterie tray was outstanding. My kids ordered the pasta and it was also very delicious. Our waiter, I wish I could remember his name, was so friendly, polite, and his timing was perfect every time he approached the table. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. Will definitely go again.
Delicious lasagna, tiramisu and Barolo Serralunga D’Alba wine. Wonderful meal. Fantastic and friendly server. My husband and I split the meal and dessert… very generous portions.
Went to the bar after dinner. There were hundreds of fruit flies on the cabinet over the back bar. NOT exaggerating. The bartender heard me as I pointed them out to my partner, and he immediately began dousing the cabinet with some cleaner. He told us it had taken him 2 months to even get that bottle of cleaner. I heard other employees talking - they had to travel from one side of the upper floor to the other just to get fruit for drinks/garnish.
The staff wants to be efficient, and are seriously working their butts off to provide everything they can to customers. The staff is truly thankful there are customers, and it's clear their attitude is not the problem.
We both used the bathroom, and were repulsed by how poorly maintained it is.
This place needs a top town cleaning, better maintenance and new management.
Eatly better wake up.
Derrick was an excellent server. Went out of his way to get ensure we got we ordered. Food was excellent and enjoyed by all members of our party.
Most likely the best Italian food I have ever had (and I work at an Italian restaurant, so I eat a lot of it). It was a great experience, everyone was so hospitable and helped each other out. Great service and great food!
Best pasta I’ve had since being in actual Italy! 10/10
A fantastic place for lunch and with a combination of the menu you no longer have to go to different restaurants so there is now something for everyone
We were totally disappointed in the quality of the food. Seems like this is mostly a tourist trap.
Disappointed we could not get a table by the window due to staff shortage. Why not shift seating to window area? Service is very attentive! My linguine with clams ( including bread crumbs ) was really good except they could have used less red pepper flakes. Going to Osteria is a Summer tradition and we will be back.
Food is astounding. The service was fine but as is expected when you are dining in this kind of environment
Several family members flew in for a reunion and ordered a whole fish, Pesce del Giorno, and Agnolotti del Plin Brasato, the house-made pork & veal-filled pasta in Urbani truffle pecorino and black truffle butter which were absolutely excellent and our tasty favorites. As a side dish, we ordered four meatballs that tasted like my Italian grandmother’s did whenever I was a child. Another favorite at our table was Ravioli di Ricotta con Mandorle, a house-made ricotta & spinach ravioli with toasted almonds and honey. Others ordered a Margarita pizza, spaghetti in tomato sauce and salads, the entire meal was worthy of a Michelin Star. Will definitely return the next time I’m in Chicago.
Everything great but much too noisy
My friend and I had a lovely dinner here on Thursday evening. The food was really good. Our appetiser of fritto misto was superb. Our mains arrived while we were still eating our appetiser which was disappointing as we knew they were just leaving them under the heating lamp until we were ready. Usually, restaurants wait till the appetisers are finished with to send out the main course. Other than that the our evening was very good.
Always wonderful food and service. And after you eat you can shop!
All the food was amazing and came out very quickly! Service was great! It was an awesome experience just walking though the entire place. I continually found myself asking, “why don’t I live here,” so that I could buy all the deliciousness that they have to offer!
Good was good. I didn’t think the pasta dishes we ordered were exceptional, especially for the price. Food could also not be customized (made spicier) as they are able to do in other Italian restaurants. We also stopped by gelato and they didn’t have 2 of the flavors we wanted that day.
The food was average and very overpriced. Some items on the menu were good, but the quality was variable with high prices.
Love Eataly and can’t wait until it opens full restaurant again 👌🏻
We’ve always loved Osteria di Eataly for its ambience, great food and very friendly service. But our experience today was so frustrating I don’t believe we’ll ever comeback to this place again. Today our family was asked to leave the restaurant by the manager on duty - Ryan due to baseless accusations of harassing one of the restaurant employees. It was a complete shock to us as we only attempted to get the name of the hostess for this review. She blatantly lied to us and refused to give us a table despite existing reservation. Ryan preferred to take full responsibility for this employee and took her side without even trying to understand the situation.
I guess after COVID it is so difficult to hire decent employees for key restaurant jobs, management prefers to change its motto to “The client is always WRONG”.
So, Italian food can be tough because there is so much variability in consumer tastes and in chef’s preferences. Their can be a real disconnect between what the consumer thinks is good Italian food vs. what the chef thinks is good Italian food. The food at this restaurant managed to bridge the gap using flavor and seasoning. Overall a great experience. The spaghetti al pomodoro, which is the simplest dish and the most complex to get right because of its simplicity, was extremely delicious. We ended up ordering it again (since the first one was devoured quickly).
The food was good but it was incredibly salty and a bit pricey for the quantity
Food was good. Very busy but good. Good options for kids
This is a bustling, energetic dining spot, with an emphasis on authentic ingredients and cuisine and a superb delivery of many different Italian staples.
The food was so good, but the service was not the great.
Felt like I was in Italy eating here and walking around, highly recommend!
This place was so disorganized. Half of our party’s food came out so far before the rest they were finished by the time the rest of the food came for everyone else. My son asked for spaghetti with cheese. What came out was plain noodles with a hint of sauce and no cheese. We asked for more sauce but none ever came. No one brought out any cheese to grate for our pastas. My bolognese was utterly tasteless. We had lots of dishes from appetizers and drinks just sitting used on the table and a server kept coming by but would only take one dish away at a time. Our server did not seem to know much at all about the men. I will never eat there again.
