This restaurant is inside Eataly and we anticipated a great meal comprised of all the wonderful things they sell in the market, and based on recipes from the great chefs that created Eataly. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant is nice enough with windows looking onto the financial district.
The entre menu is a bit limited and quite expensive for what it is. The menu items are odd, and the descriptions are very misleading. For example Trecce Fave e Asparagi, housemade pasta with asparagus, fava beans, and pecorino romano, actually does not have whole fava beans. Rather, they are somehow ground up in the pasta - the table next to us asked and we were both surprised. Another example Passatelli di Mare housemade egg pasta with mussels, clams, baked cherry tomatoes, white wine, has an awful 'pasta' made of bread crumbs that was nearly inedible. Being in a place that features fantastic homemade pasta, you would never anticipate that the pasta in this dish was so weird and bad. Lastly, I asked for a side order of real pasta and was told that was not possible. Really!
We do not plan to return to this disappointing, over-priced restaurant. It had so much potential to be great - sad.
Okay I would say
The food is phenomenal. Overall good service but very slow- the main courses take a long time to come out & when it’s time to pay it also takes quite awhile to get the check. Cheerful servers, the view & the fantastic food keep me coming back though!
This place used to be top notch when it first opened, I was a regular there. I moved from the area and this was my first time back in over a year. I was quite surprised at how average it’s become. Food used to be great but this time I found it decidedly bland. It’s price point is wrong also given the quality of the food. Probably why there was no problem getting a reservation or a seat at the bar on Saturday night. Used to be lucky to get a spot at the bar, and it was empty.
Great service! Pretty room. Calamari and crisp fried veggie sticks were excellent. Rissoto was average.
Bad, very bad! The tuna carpaccio was a very little portion, bad and expensive. The gnocchi alla Sorrentina was bad, very cooked and overpriced. The ziti alla Genoese instead was hard as a stone. Mediocre restaurant
Always a great meal!!!
It was lovely.
We ended up here lat minute and loved everything about it. The food, service and view was spectacular
Was a restaurant I wanted to try the experience from begging to end underwhelming
Seafood pasta looked so unappetizing
11 in our group from Uk Miami & NYC no rave reviews
The service was SO slow--like our entrees came an HOUR later after our app--and they didn't even apologize. Food was mehh as well.
The Osteria is a good option if you prefer a sit down meal instead of the “cafeteria” type setting of Eataly. Service was on point. Will be back soon
As you can tell, I love this place! Took our friends there for dinner (their first time there) and it was a huge success - the food was excellent, as always; the wait staff were friendly and helpful, as always; and all of us ate too much ....... as always. So glad this wonderful place (& its more casual counterpart, Pasta & Pizza, are here!
We are fortunate to have Osteria della Pace here at 4WTC since our MediaMath office is located at this address. We also often cater business lunches via Eataly. Thank you for being where you are and offering a great dining experience.
Fabulous food great service just a little loud. Love the whole experience
Food was delicious & staff was attentive. We also had a great table- very comfy. The location is awesome right inside of Eataly.
Overall wonderful restaurant. Location is great. Floor to ceiling windows overlooking the reflecting pool and the Freedom Tower
We were visiting New York from SC and were told that we had to go see "Eataly". So we booked a reservation at this restaurant inside the Eataly area and we were not disappointed. The service was impeccable and the food was yummy, delicious and comforting. The pasta was out of this world and the breads were to die for! It was a terrific NY experience. We would go back there in a minute, given the opportunity.
Our reservation was at 2:15. Waitress immediately told us kitchen was closing at three and we felt rushed to put order in! No one alerted us to this situation of closing kitchen after lunch. We were allowed to spend time at the table after eating, however, thankfully. This was a reunion and friends had traveled a distance.
mediocre food in small portions, everything took a long time, however the view is spectacular, as is the entrance through Eataly
scrumptious, satisfying, worth many repeat visits!!
Although the original wine requested was out of stock another decent option was available. The service is very friendly and added to a very pleasant evening. Food was delicious. Looking forward to a return visit.
Fantastic ambience with a wonderful view. Great food, great service and an extensive wine list.
Delicious food. Convenient location. Right in the big Eataly market -- so you can shop after you eat. It's a bit noisy. The prices are stupid. The portions are modest. But the food itself is delicious. top notch. maybe not the best italian in the City -- but a solid entry in a category that's hard to stand out. Just come with your wallet.
Osteria della Pace delivers on the promise of a restaurant in Eataly - fresh, tender pasta, bright sauces and impeccable service make this a fair approximation of a meal at a restaurant in Italy itself. It's clear that care is paid to the food they serve and the environment they present it in.
Good for small get togethers. Good food and service.
great experience. the atmosphere was relaxed, food great and fantastic service. We chatted till they were pulling the chairs up in the table. Nobody said anything even if we did not order and just chatted. Fantastic experience all the time. I am never disappointed when I bring friends.
We dined on a Friday evening and were promptly seated. The window seating appears to be exclusively for four - too bad as we were only two. Because of the three restaurant set-up of Eataly, though in a separate room, Osteria was fairly loud. Add to this, was music that played so loudly that it actually detracted from the ambience. Mind you, I don’t think I have ever previously found music to be so distracting while dining. So it was quite loud. However, I will say that service was quite attentive. My pasta with beef ragu was good - not exceptional - but good. However my endive, pistachio and beet salad suffered from a dearth of pistachios! My friend’s octopus appetizer was good, but also wanting more octopus for the price. The expresso was excellent as was the coconut gelato. Would go again , but unlikely to opt for an appetizer or salad.
This place has very good Italian food, not spectacular but good and reasonably priced despite the location in #4 WTC. The ambiance is nice and if you are in the right part of the restaurant, the noise level is not too bad. I would go back here.
The wait staff was excellent, I would visit again. :-)
Real gem; great ambiance, cuisine and service. True dining experience for adults.
Staff excellent, even though they were almost ready to close. Very gracious. Foodwas fantastic. That's the second time we've been there when we went to the museum. Will go again
We have been to Eataly's Osteria 3 times in the last month. The first time was great. Second time the fish was not deboned properly and had a month of bones. Third time food came out cold and dry.
We will not return. Its a really great neighborhood spot unfortunately the food disappoints.
The restaurant itself is quite nice and service is good. As for the food, it is good and fairly priced - but overall average, really nothing outstanding. Bread served before the meal was slightly dry.
Was so glad to be able to get a reservation to grab a great lunch and a glass of wine with a longtime friend. Great place to catch up over an excellent salad. Service was excellent.
What a wonderful restaurant to enjoy Easter lunch at! The food was fantastic, I had an out of this world spinach, sage and butter ravioli dish! Salad was wonderful as were the desserts. The staff were super lovely. A beautiful setting tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Eataly. Will be returning!
Amazing Italian food - the tiramisu is to die for!!!
Wonderful from beginning to end and I will definitely go back!
Nice respite amidst the towers of Wall Street - great food and ambiance and excellent view of ground zero memorial.
The food, the wine and the service was warm, wonderful and excellent. My family enjoyed the proximity to the Tour of the Freedom Tower and the 9/11 Museum.
