Nice evening. The pastas were excellent. The service was attentive. A bit expensive but still a good meal
i thought the food was good but our server wasn't exactly friendly. He wasn't mean or rude, just not particularly engaging. I almost asked for another table but decided against it.
other than that, all else was good.
so i'm not complaining about the service however i personally didn't care for our server. Not very friendly even though i think he may have tried. He just appeared to be bothered.
Went here with my fiancé (live in Brooklyn), and another couple from out of town. Food was good, service was also well. Upscale without being pretentious. A place to recommend to anyone not from the city.
Food was excellent, and Service was outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.
Lovely view and meal. The steak was outstanding!
I can eat here every day, service is good and the service is tremendous!!!!
Pretty mediocre risotto. Underwhelming on all fronts for the price.
Wonderful comfort food, ingredients were fresh, and service was great. Would definitely come back!
The food was very good, and the service and setting, as usual, were extraordinary. The sunchoke appetizer was creative and delicious, and the shared pastries for dessert topped off the evening as we closed the place down. Thank you for a memorable evening.
Location in World Trade Center and the ambiance of the restaurant was good, but the quality of food was very mediocre. Mario Batali should be ashamed for himself to put his name on this restaurant. The only saving grace was we liked the wine the Italian Maitre d'i recommended. New York is full of good Italian restaurant and I truly regret spending money there.
Good service, great location, but food was unremarkable at best and overpriced. If they were in another location they would never make it.
Excellent service from Jorge C. Food and drinks good too. Super cocktails and wine. Frittota and burrata great. Risotto tasty.
Great, fresh Italian food- friendly, professional service. Knowledgeable and approachable sommelier - thanks Chris!
How can you mess up a "pasta alla roccia" as we call it pasta with clams, mussels.
Well the pasta was not pasta but a kind of "cereal" in the shape of a 1/2 inch thick overly coocked spaghetto.
The shell fish was not freshly cooked but probably prepared hours in advance.
Melanzana alla parmigiana, reheated and tomato sauce dry.
The Pesce al cartoccio, presented in clear plastic and not in the typical oily cooking paper.
The food at Eataly is always amazing to buy. The quality of this restaurant was no different - amazing food. Service was excellent. The ambiance is casual and the noise level is high. But the prices are correspondingly “casual”. If you want a great italian meal in a casual setting, without making it a 2 hour ordeal, it’s highly recommended. Try the 24-month aged prosciutto appetizer - Best prosciutto I’ve had in 30 years, outside of Italy.
Most tasteless food! And they charged us $8 extra because we asked to substitute some tomatoes instead of a bread basket as we can’t eat gluten. That was ridiculous.
Not only was everything delicious that we tried (4 for lunch), but also everyone of the staff was friendly and attentive. The great view is jut a bonus.
Thank you to a friend
Great food and hostess gave me the table by window with view as requested. All our dishes were delicious. Waiter server was a bit distracted as we had to ask for black pepper 4 times and twice he gave us salt shaker instead of pepper.
Everything was excellent!
I feel like I start so many reviews this way… Wonderful appetizer... not so great entrée. I had the buratta which came with a lovely selection of finely sliced, very fresh vegetables with a very light dressing that was absolutely delicious. For the entrée, I was drawn to The ravioli, because it included Dover sole and ricotta. I am a huge fan of Dover sole. I would’ve been much much much much happier if it had just been on a plate. The ravioli was al dente to the point of being almost crunchy, ..... it was covered in almonds, which I never like with fish. And frankly the fish and ricotta filling was not only scant but pretty flavorless. The pesto was way too strong and oily. But the service was warm and attentive, the sommeliere/drink taker was terrific and brought me a lovely glass Of wine to go along with the dish. I think I will go back And try a different entrée.
We went for restaurant week to check the place. We’ll be back for sure. It is a very nice place , great service and the food was excellent.
My beet salad with radicchio and pistachio sauce was very good, ate it all. The pasta did great, asta cook perfect al dente.love the place
I have a feeling they were having an off night. That, or because it was a Sunday, the service was very slow and inattentive and the food was mediocre. I have had much better dining experiences at other parts of Eataly before, so I'm willing to believe that had I gone during more regular hours the food and service would have been better.
The food was fine, but not fabulous and the meal service took an incredibly long time. In addition, it seemed like they were understaffed as the waiter seemed be serving all the tables in the dining area.
Also, signage in the space makes it hard to find your specific restaurant.
I ordered the ensalada verde which was interested but seemed unfinished. I then had the spaghetti which was undercooked and crunchy in parts. My companion LOVED the fritattina and those around us seemed to enjoy their food.
It was the worst meal I’ve ever had in NYC- in fact it was cheating the customers. The restaurant week menu had no meat or fish or chicken -all they served us was a very poor salad and an insufficient main course, a few slices of eggplant for 30 dollars. Horrible unappetising experience!!!! I’m shocked at Eataly food!!! Will never ever go there again!
Service bad from moment we walked in. Food was mediocre. Cocktails we nothing memorable . Way too expensive for this kind of food and low level of service
Eataly is a lovely space with an amazing store located in front. The restaurant located in the back has incredible views of parts of the financial district. The Gran Tagliere was incredible. Our main entrees were so-so, fairly bland for my taste.
The menu could be expanded a bit. The wine by the glass can get pricey.
SHOUT OUT to the great staff and CHEF!! for making my rock star birthday so special!!!
Be careful on the wines - they are all priced at least 5 to 6 times the market price, and some of them aren't good!
Was surprisingly disappointed by this place. Me and my husband love Eataly and were really looking forward to a nice meal with my parents.
Service was extremely slow and negligent - it took 30 minutes to just get the wine and there was basically 20-30 minutes in between each course. Our server also forgot things like the wine list, when we asked for things like cheese on our pasta, etc.
Food was mediocre too and I'm glad it was restaurant week, otherwise I'd be fuming that I paid full price. Appetizers were the best part for sure - that's definitely something they didn't screw up. My husband ordered the fish (basically en papillote) and it came in this clear plastic bag and was ultra bland. They didn't try very hard with that entree at at all.
Won't be coming back here again. Not worth the time or money.
Food very good. Service collapsed mid-way for reasons unknown. Not impressed.
Food was mediocre. I had risotto with shrimp snd asparagus which only had minuscule pieces of the top of the asparagus. Overall flavor was ok.
Waitress never came back to check on us after food was served. Other person in party was not satisfied with order from restaurant week lunch menu....spaghetti with salad/pesto. Didn’t find it flavorful but because waitress never came until it was time for check we just pushed to side and we knew that we would not recommend for the future
Service was slow while tables around us were served at a faster pace; food was very good
The food was amazing and the service was exceptional
In a years time this place has lost it! The food was not good! Couldn’t even finish my salad! Bread & wine are the best thing!
We loved the atmosphere and authentic Italian vibe, but for us the food missed the mark and was a bit disappointing. The beet salad was tasteless, the risotto ordinary and the aubergine parmigiana was very oily. Delicious bread and green salad with pesto though! The bill seemed very expensive for what we had. A real shame as we were expecting great things.
Ok but would try other places nothing special
Good advice on wine. Starters were outstanding; main dish were solid. A bit pricey but it overlooks 9/11 memorial if you are lucky enough to get a table along the window on west side of dining room. I’d return.
