Owner Eduardo Daja has been working in restaurants since he was a teenager growing up in Italy, and his time in culinary school only strengthened his passion for food. After culinary school, Ed stayed in Bologna to work at a family-owned restaurant. He moved to Utah eight years ago, and found himself missing his first love, food. For the past three years, Ed has been managing an Italian restaurant while also maintaining a career in tech and finally made the life-changing decision to open his own restaurant.
That big decision was made possible for Ed when he met Marco Cuttaia, Osteria Amore’s executive chef and partner. Ed’s training in Bologna, considered the food capital of Italy, and Marco’s upbringing in Palermo, known for its incredible street food, bridge northern and southern Italian culinary tradition in a way that’s never been done in Salt Lake City.

Great food, good friendly service. Second time there and both were very good.
We can not say enough good things about this place! Everything we ate was amazing, the wine we picked was so good, and the service was excellent. Our waiter, Ed, was so personable and went the extra mile to tell us things about the restaurant and food items. We were there for 3 1/2 hours, well past closing, and we never felt rushed. We will be back!!!! The only negative was it was a little loud when we got there, but only because it was busy! It quieted down later.
One of the best salmon ravioli I ever had. Bruschetta was also so good. Great service!.
Place is incredible. Ed always takes care of us too.
Food was incredible!
Went here for my bday with my beautiful daughter before Kevin Hart show. The noise was so loud from patrons w out masks screaming / laughing. Since the tables are less than 6 feet apart, didn’t feel safe which was a bummer.
We could’ve hear eachother speak.
I’d add sound proofing on ceilings, under the tables and chairs, curtains on walls, linens on tables, etc.
BUT our server was AMAZING, wine delicious, meals not as good as in past (guessing slammed n understaffed).
Manager was amazing and personally apologized about the noise and comped us dessert.
The food was good but not worth the price. The place was place was beautiful and comfortable. Not sure if we will be back.
Best authentic Italian in Salt Lake. Must try! We will definitely be going again.
The best restaurant in SLC, not kidding. Obv the best Italian food. Service is always personal and prompt, menu varies but is always authentic and delicious, value is a crime and the ambiance and setting are great. My 8th or 9th time there, and I've never felt differently.
We enjoyed another dining experience at Osteria Amore! Everyone greeted us and made us feel welcome upon arrival. Our server was helpful and knowledgeable...even suggested the perfect dish for a picky eater. We enjoyed the deep fried artichokes Estiva pizza to start. Both delicious. Our main dishes included the Favolosa salad, Bucatini, Osteria Amore and Sapori de Mare. All incredible...cooked perfectly and full of flavor. We rounded the evening with tiramisu and profiteroles. Yum. We look forward to our next visit.
The food and drinks were amazing! I tasted everyone’s plates at the table and I would order any one of them again. The service was top notch! Definitely a must try. I will definitely be back!
Our server was attentive and the ambience and table service was great. Every dish we ordered was delicious. We'll definitely be back?
I have been to this place before and loved it. However, this latest visit I was taking my sister to celebrate her birthday. They brought the birthday dessert to the table next to us. The cute older people that it happened to said when the server left, " I didn't want the young man to feel bad." We need to remind the server a few times to refill our drinks. Food was excellent. Service definitely was not.
My 63 birthday
Servers had great suggestions food was plentiful.
Enjoyed our dinning experience.
As always, the meal, service and atmosphere are on point at Osteria Amore! My wife, our guests and I were just delighted with our meals! The new pastas were fantastic and Ed our server was so knowledgeable. Thank you Edwardo for your hospitality, we love you mucho!
Marc and Amy Rosello
Second time eating at Amore and was just as fantastic as the first. This time I brought friends we spent time with in Italy so we could relive our experiences together. It was the perfect atmosphere and very authentic. They even have a giant Florentine style steak that they render fat over the top of. Amore's pizza spot on the same stuff I ate in a small mom & pop pizze shop in Torre de Greco, near Napoli where I had the best pizza of my life.
Todo muy bien
One of the best authentic margherita pizzas I've ever had. Served piping hot. Rice balls were great for the appetizer. Pasta was hand made and very good. service was great and everyone's food came out on time and together.
The food was delicious, our server was very attentive and prompt. Only complaint would be some overly loud customers at a neighboring table, who were pretty crass. Not language my family and I want to hear while eating dinner.
Amazing we loved it!!!
First timers- and we will be back!
Fantastic in every way.
Awesome as always! Great food, service and ambiance.
Igancio was the greatest server-the food was utterly amazing and this is now our fav place in SLC-we have been here both lunch and dinner and this is one of the finest in SLC!
Menu was great...the lasagne was awesome....I will go back for sure
Incredible (and I mean incredible) food at honest rates. 10/10 going back again!
I will never forget the honey on their charcuterie plate. Life changing.
Food was good , very authentic Italian. Shockingly the salmon was fantastic and the gelato tasted exactly like I had in Italy. However their service was very poor, and I understand service in general isn’t perfect due to Covid , but for this type of restaurant, the staff was very inexperienced , rude and disrespectful and definitely didn’t understand the concept of customer service and that negatively effected our overall experience. Which made it a very disappointing night and we will not go back .
The food was amazing. Best Italian I’ve had in a while.
Food is excellent, service was really good the first time I went and not as great the second time. Still highly recommended. Excellent food, attentiveness, and knowledgeable about menu gave it five stars the first time and second time 2 yr later food was still great but service a little less since Covid.
Food is pricey for the quality and amount. Venue is too crowded . It has a very casual atmosphere but the prices are high for what you get. Seafood pasta had hardly any seafood . Staff are super nice but the service need improvement. They collect your plate while other people at your table are still eating 😳
We have gotten take out during the pandemic previously so we were excited to sit in and eat. Everything was delicious and service was outstanding.
Perfect dining experience! The server (Kat) was amazing and so sweet. The food was perfect! The gnocchi and osteria Amore pastas are our favorites and the steak was cooked exactly as requested.
The service always amazing- I have never had an empty glass of water or had to try and find our server. You can tell the folks that work there are very interested in your happiness as a customer. The lasagna is always a safe bet. When seated in the large dining area the noise is pretty loud, but last time we were tucked away in a table in the back. Ambience is wonderful.
The food was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend eating there. We went for q birthday and they brought out a sweet treat. The pistachio Gelato was also amazing!
Love this place. Everything I’ve gotten off the menu is incredible. Easily the best pasta in the state (coming from me, and I’m critical). Get the Osteria Amore pasta!
