Owner Eduardo Daja has been working in restaurants since he was a teenager growing up in Italy, and his time in culinary school only strengthened his passion for food. After culinary school, Ed stayed in Bologna to work at a family-owned restaurant. He moved to Utah eight years ago, and found himself missing his first love, food. For the past three years, Ed has been managing an Italian restaurant while also maintaining a career in tech and finally made the life-changing decision to open his own restaurant.
That big decision was made possible for Ed when he met Marco Cuttaia, Osteria Amore’s executive chef and partner. Ed’s training in Bologna, considered the food capital of Italy, and Marco’s upbringing in Palermo, known for its incredible street food, bridge northern and southern Italian culinary tradition in a way that’s never been done in Salt Lake City.
Great meal and service. Thanks Nico for your great service
Beautiful restaurant, very good food and I'm picky. The service was outstanding, overall exceptional experience
Very cute place - love the huge windows. Great service - good food.
This was a very happy find! Really great food, friendly service, authentic cuisine. Highly recommend!
Osteria Anore is ope for business !!!
What a great evening. Eduardo and Seth treated us like family. The outside seating was just perfect.
Please come and have a good time with Amore.
Always great glad your open.
Everything about it was amazing! Beautiful patio seating, incredible Italian food, amazing staff! Couldn’t have asked for better! Can’t wait to go back!
Loved the fried artichokes. Good wine list. My ribeye was seasoned well.
I loved to atmosphere, service was great. The area we sat in was extremely loud and everything echoed, which was a little frustrating. The food was great, however, I ordered one of the specials, which was fish. The fish was brought out cooked with the head, fins, bones, etc. Although delicious, I did not enjoy picking fish bones out of every bite I took and sometimes scales. It was hard to eat. Great presentation, but it could have been simplified to enjoy eating it.
Delicious food and very friendly service. Wonderful experience.
Eduardo always takes good care of us. Before we go to Italy Eduardo asked us back so we can take notes of where to go, what to eat and who to visit.
Great location, incredible food/wine selection and kind service! Our new favorite!
My son took me there for Mother’s Day the service was absolutely amazing the food tasted More than a five star restaurant it was a beautiful day beautiful food beautiful service and I will be going back there at least once a month thank you for making my Mother’s Day so special
Wonderful dining here. Upon being seated by server Helios, we were served flavorful crostini with fresh cherry tomatoes, bursts and olive oil. My partner tried the gnocchi bologna de and the gnocchi were light as pillows in their flavorful sauce. We both loved it. I tried the veal scalloping in mushroom cream sauce. The veal was pounded out to perfection, lightly dusted in seasoned flour and sautèed golden. The sauce was unctuous without being heavy and various mushroom varieties added a nice chew and umami. We’ve yet to try dessert here because we just can’t resist the main menu.
Service is attentive but quite...leisurely.
Excellent dinner with exceptional service. Was a bit disappointed with $12 corkage fee though. We will return for another great meal and al fresco dining on their patio.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Osteria Amore. Great ambience; the food was incredible. We'll definitely be back.
Great to be back. Seth did a great job and nice to see Nico
The ambiance would probably have been better if there were more people in the place. The amount of food you get for what you pay is outstanding.
The service was excellent, bread with the salad very good. However, the salad dressing was bitter & mainly oil. I asked for some Caesar dressing & that helped. My main course was supposed to be spinach lasagna, it was not fresh, the pasta had a green tinge so I guess it was the pasta that had spinach in it. Meat sauce was ok, but I tasted no cheese in the dish. I was very disappointed all in all. I told the waiter it was all good, because he was excellent & I don’t think another dish of it would have been any better & there were no other items that interested me.
All told the meal cost me over $40 & I will not be back!
Absolutely delightful! The carpaccio may be my new favorite... to die for❤️ As always, we feel so welcomed and at home with our Osteria Amore crew!!!
Great evening, Great food with Great friends. Service was wonderful
So great to have a family run Italian restaurant in the neighborhood. The food was delish. I really love the veggie lasagne. The staff is friendly, and very familiar with the menu. We will be eating here often.
Great service, very tasty food - Saturday evening parking a problem, expensive, TOO LOUD.
Lovely place great food! Was sad the Greek restaurant closed but they have done an amazing job and the food is fresh and great. Make a reservation because they book up fast!
We love this place. The staff does an excellent job and the food is amazing. The best dishes are the simplest dishes. Best lasagna and best veal in SLC. Pizza is damn good as well. Family style is the way to go.
Osteria Amore was very yummy and it’s nice there’s an Italian restaurant close to University of Utah’s campus. The servers aren’t very attentive, but the food makes up for it.
First time - loved the whole experience - will be back!
Nice variety of authentic Italian food. Cozy and lively atmosphere.
Great food, fabulous staff. Some sitting arrangements can be a little tight, but a small issue compared to all the positives of this place. We can’t wait for our next visit!
Great waiter! The food arrived fast. It was delicious!
Service is beyond fabulous. Great ambiance. Noise level ridiculous. Go early to miss the crowds. Yummy Gelato. My daughter loves this place. It's my 2nd favorite Italian in Salt Lake Valley.
We shared the Arancini to start, then the Casa (pizza). We love the fresh ricotta with olive oil and tomatoes served with warm bread. For dessert we had the creme brulee and gelato (chocolate and pistachio). Everything was terrific and we were able to get in immediately on a Saturday at 12:30pm.
Lovely setting and amazing food! We'll definitely be back, it was a wonderful experience.
Food, service and atmosphere was great. Would definitely go again.
Although our pizzas were delicious, the noise level was unbearable. We could not relax and talk, so we pretty much just ate and got out of there so we could finally talk to each other.
Our food was just ok and it was loud. I will give it another chance though.
Great food, great service wonderful ambiance. Our second time to dine at Eduardo's OA and another superb dining experience. Greeted at the door by Eduardo when we arrived and thanked as we departed.
Eduardo has created our now favorite place to dine with attentive staff and delicious food. What more could you ask for!
It was very loud but fun!! The lights are too bright in the upstairs dining area~~~
Very attentive servers. Made sure we finished our dinner in plenty of time to make our play but we felt relaxed and not rushed.
The table was so small even for 2 diners. We had to continually shuffle items to make things fit.
