Osteria 57 opened its doors in September 2017 thanks to passionate and hardworking entrepreneur Emanuele Nigro.
His approach to food is based upon the belief that all our experiences and relations are interconnected. The food we eat, the wine we drink, and the atmosphere around us, can facilitate and support the flourishing of our souls.
Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, on 10th street right off 6th avenue, the space is composed by a main intimate dining room with a bar, and the more private back room which is the perfect location for events and parties. An eclectic Italian menu composed of only seafood and vegetarian dishes is served at this new little West village gem on 10th street.
Osteria 57 will surprise you with delicious creative Italian food accompanied by a friendly service in a really warm atmosphere.
it was great evening! great ambience, food and service!
Our service was okay. The food was alright. The music was very loud. I would choose another place next time. The staff seemed to be rushing to get us out but there were other empty tables, it did not seem super busy.
Really liked my cocktail, and we got a nicer 2-person spot in the back where it felt more private. The food was good.
A wonderful choice for a casual meal. Food and service was outstanding. Generous portions.
Wonderful food - noise level was almost painful. Would love to go again but probably won’t due EXTREME noise
Fantastic from food to server.
There was this annoying feature that every 10 minutes they would come by and poor your Sparkling or Regular water. It became over-bearing at times. Other than that, portions were small, and while quaint, there was not so much to overall distinguish it from others.
So delicious!!
Great service and cozy interior! A bit too loud to be a perfect 5/5, and the food was good but not spectacular.
A super quaint West Village gem. It has a great neighborhood feel, and the crowd dining in the restaurant were all lovely. As for the restaurant itself, we sat in the front room. My only complaint was the tables were really tight to get in and out of. I understand they need to fit as many people in as they can, but it was a little awkward.
Our server was kind and attentive. We chose the Restaurant Week menu and the food was delicious. They definitely brought out the dishes quickly, but they didn't mention anything while we stayed after our meal to finish the bottle of wine. The portions were a bit on the smaller side, so if you want a heavier meal I would go for the pasta over the fish.
Great atmosphere for a date.
Amazing and sustainable food
First time at Osteria 57 and will be back! Delicious food, attentive wait staff, and great ambiance. The noise level was perfect, lively but didn't have to strain to hear my dinner party.
This was my second visit in the past year to Osteria 57. I appreciate that they focus on vegetarian and pescatarian meals. My only requested change would be a few meals in each category that were both vegetarian and dairy-free or without losing the feeling of creativity and luxury that accompanies the other dishes. That said, the food was good, the service energetic, and the ambiance is always warm and cozy.
We were initially seated by the cash register, which was a site of constant traffic and discussion about transactions. We asked to be moved and, instead of waiting for a new table, opted to sit and eat at the bar, where we were well taken care of. That was just fine with us!
The food was very fresh and very good with more than a few things I would like to have sampled from the fish family. The rice encrusted cauliflower appetizer was delicious and more than enough for 3 to share. My only nit-pick complaint was that there was no beer available on Christmas eve because they did not get a delivery. Send someone to the local deli for a few six packs and charge me the 7 bucks for my beverage of choice. Overall a good experience.
Delicious food
Coz
Excellent service
Delicious wine and a generous pour
The food was delicious and atmosphere was very comforting!! 10/10
Didn’t feel like waiting 5 hours at Via Carota so we found this place on Open Table. Had the most amazing meal!! This place kicks Via C’s butt!
The white truffle pasta was amazing, along with every other meal. You truly felt like you were in Italy. Will be coming back.
Main courses were good but appetizers were odd. Advertised a happy hour but then didn’t offer it at restaurant.
Went for a birthday dinner and had a wonderful meal. The service wasn't quite as attentive as I would have expected, particularly since I had noted it was a special occasion. We were also sat near the door on a cold, rainy evening, which wasn't ideal, but I guess someone has to get stuck there. Still, the food was wonderful and the atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for. I will definitely return, but would suggest being specific about any seating requests when you reserve.
Our first time here and we Loved Osteria 57!! So cozy, so inviting and SO yummy! The service was top notch as well. We shared a bunch of apps- especially loved the black truffle dishes. Everyone enjoyed their main course- absolutely delicious! Will definitely return;))
food was delicious, service was attentive and vegan pasta was the best! we had smooth wine and a vegan chocolate dessert. my friend booked her work holiday party there in the spot.
Food was excellent and the ambiance was wonderful!
We enjoyed the pizza fritta (fried pizza) and if you are like me and you are obsessed over dessert, I strongly recommend their dreamy tiramisu'. The place is quiet compared to most of NYC places and I found it very intimate
Great and warm staff. Miguel is amazing!
Interesting menu, vegetarian and fish, and delicious. Service was very good. The noise level was a bit high.
From the door, was welcomed warmly. The staff, especially Anthony, was super friendly. Felt like I was visiting an old friend. Loved the food selection which was creative and tasty. The drinks were ridiculously yummy. Definitely will return for more!
Wonderful atmosphere and fabulous food! This is a village favorite and we will return. We love introducing friends to this great find. Special was pasta with lobster and truffles shaved- excellent dish! The special cocktails are also imaginative and so tasty! Arrive early and sit at small bar to enjoy before dinner. Waitress was slightly abrupt and not so friendly but likely because the place was crowded and a bit hectic. Hoping for a tad nicer treatment next time....
Waitress put in the wrong order for fish course which kind of ruined it for us. Bread average, octopus was delicious, pasta with porcini mushrooms excellent. Seating was uncomfortable.
I went there for a warm and hearty brunch with my friend. Davide, our server for the day, went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We had a lot of fun! The food was incredible (especially the paccheri pasta and radicchio fonduta), the new chef Riccardo is clearly accustomed to a healthy and refine cuisine. I will definitely come back again.
Great buzzy neighbourhood joint. Fantastic experience.
Loved it! Went here for a birthday celebration. Great food and service & good ambience. Will go back for sure.
Two omnivores and a strict vegan were all very happy and able to meet on common ground and share appetizers. All three entrees were very different and all were outstanding. We sat at the only outside table and the service team was great - never felt forgotten, never rushed and very personable and accommodating.
Food was amazing, but service was lacking. They seated us half an hour after our reservation started and we had to wait at the bar with our elderly parents who were jet lagged and travelling from Europe. Also, thirty minutes after ordering desert, we had to remind them about it. They came back and said that they had suffered a computer problem and that the kitchen never got our desert order.
It’s too bad because the restaurant is charming and the food is excellent, but service should be at the same level and we had a feeling that they overbooked their tables or booked them too close apart.
The quality and flavor of the food, topped with the friendliness of the staff, provides for a feeling of home away from home!
The food was very good. Unfortunately the noise level was a bit high and it was dinny inside.
Great food, quiet, perfect to get away from the noise of the ciry
Great classic spot for a West Village dinner. Candle-lit atmosphere would make for a romantic date spot. Small restaurant overall but cozy. We loved everything we ordered, especially the ricotta and fig toast and the crispy cauliflower.
Excellent preparation and service. Very authentic Northern Italian food with wonderful preparation. Dessert was outstanding. Very nice cocktails. Bad music. Lovely restaurant.
The restaurant is a fish and vegetarian only but I hardly noticed the lack of meat. To start I had the mussels and beans which was served with a spicy broth [but not too spicy] over a piece of bread to soak up all the deliciousness. For my main, I had the branzino which is a popular option, and the flavors and crispy skin are probably why. Unfortunately, it's served alone so I had to order a side to go with the fish, and I chose the roasted fingerling potatoes [a special for the evening] which were just on the right side of crispy with grated cheese on top. Last but definitely not least was the ciocolatto for desert. It was vegan, though I wish it wasn't because I think the creaminess of dairy would have made it a little bit less grainy. Nevertheless, it was tasty and the graininess became less of an issue with each bite. Ambiance was great though a little bit cramped but I guess that's New York for you. Would definitely recommend.
