Ospi is the sophomore restaurant of Jackson & Melissa Kalb, focused on Southern Italian cooking and way of life. The name derives from ospitante (“host” in Italian), with the expectation that guests will feel as comfortable at Ospi as they would at a friend’s dinner party. There will be plenty of house-made pastas as well as an expanded offering of pizzas. The beverage program crafted by Kalb features mostly Californian and Southern Italian wines and a full bar with a special negroni section. At Ospi, the pizza is inspired by the techniques of Antico Forno Roscioli which Jackson and Melissa frequented while visiting Rome. Focusing on Romana Tonda-style crusts that are cracker-thin, he is adapting a recipe that he feels will resonate with the LA diner. Jackson feels it extremely important to not take food too seriously. Take a trip to Southern Italy and be a guest in our home.

Loved it! We had an awesome server, Chris. But, I have to say, everyone we interacted with was great - friendly and helpful. The food was out of this world. I loved what we ordered and can’t wait to go back to try other great choices on the menu. And my cocktail was divine, fancy and delicious.

We've had many good meals at Ospi. We ate there last night with some friends. The food was very good, however the portions seemed very small and the price seemed extremely expensive for the meal. I was very suprised by the cost.

Our server was so kind, attentive and the meal was delicious. We had the eggplant, pizza, beef check ragú and spicy rigatoni. All fantastic, rounded out with the hazelnut mousse. Can’t wait to come back!

My daughter picked this place for her 20th birthday celebration. We had never been here before and it was outstanding. In addition, our server was wonderful and gave us a free pizza! The pizza was amazing with super thin crust, which I love. Wish they made it in a gluten-free option, but perhaps they had that and I just didn’t see it.

We had a fantastic dinner (party of five)! We started with the beef tartare and the Caesar salad. Both were delicious, and the greens on the salad were as fresh as they come! For our main dishes, we selected the mezza maniche, lemon taglioline, spicy rigatoni, butter chicken, and the dry-aged New York steak medium rare. Trust me when I tell you everything was divine! I highly recommend Uber, as parking can be tricky, and I promise you will fall in love with the place! Amazing mocktails and cocktails and excellent wine selection! Kudos!!

Great meal! Everyone enjoyed everything they ate. The service was great and the vibe was very cool. It’s a great place but I think it’s more expensive than need be which is why we don’t go often. I do enjoy this place however so will eventually be back.

We’d go back. All four of us shared a delicious array of dishes expertly suggested and brought to our table by a super knowledgeable server. On the other hand, we choose to sit outside and that was a mistake; we should have reserved a table inside. The outdoor seating space is just blah ambiance. Next time we’ll reserve a table in the restaurant.

This was our first time eating here. The staff and our waiter Chris was welcoming, friendly and helpful! The food was AMAZING and we can’t wait to come back!! Our favorite dish was the Spicy Rigatoni - alla vodka but really everything we ordered tasted GREAT!

Ospi is consistently great. The service is courteous and is not rushed and they take care of you. If something doesn’t work they will take care of it. The food arrives hot and delicious and the portions are large enough to share. Each appetizer is enough for at least two people and the menu options are creative and delicious. The beef tartare was savory and satisfying and unctuous. The Japanese eggplant was a wonderful balance of savory and slight sweetness from the glaze. Pairs perfectly with the garlic fettunta. Shout out to Brendon our server who recommended that. Highly recommend Ospi.

Everything about Ospi is incredible! Don’t let the Venice address deter you from visiting this restaurant. Ospi easily ranks in the top 10 restaurants we have been to in the whole world. The food was so good, we had to take breaks between courses so we could try as many dishes as possible! The meatballs app and spicy rigatoni are a must. Copione pizza is literally chef’s kiss. The service was beyond spectacular - shoutout to Kyle who took such great care of us! We sat outside and the ambiance was perfect. The only thing we would change is to move the restaurant to the state we live in so we could eat there all the time!

Fantastic very thin crust pizza. Excellent food; we loved the rigatoni (get the meatballs and add it to this dish), chicken was great, cannelloni full of flavor, ricotta gnocchi/gnudi dish was full of cheese (didn't skimp on stuffing). Limited salad choices so we skipped this. We made high carb choices and loved it. Wine list is small without a lot of less pricey options. The by glass selection was good. Service was excellent. Inside would have been too noisy, fortunately we were outside on the street patio and it was comfortable.
