Osco! Restaurant – InterContinental Montreal Ratings and Reviews
Mtl à table menu, a variety of interesting offerings, some included absinthe, which they are famous for. Desert was made with Cacao Barry chocolate - delicious. Ended meal with the absinthe digestive ritual, highly recommend it even if not a fan of absinthe. They even brought an extra desert with candle for my friend's birthday, very thoughtful.
Excellent service! Nous avons eu un serveur accueillant, professionnel et attentif.
La présentation des aliments était magnifique.
Nous avons profité de la table d'hôte à 31$ dans le cadre de Montréal à table. Excellente occasion de découvrir ce resto.
The place is not unpleasant at all and the service was friendly enough. The food, however, was of minimal quality. My 'Paella' consisted of a large heap of soggy rice in which a few shrimp could barely be found. Not impressive! Especially not for the price charged. I wasn't expecting haute cuisine in a hotel restaurant, but this was quite underwhelming. I'll make sure to never go back there.
Although we made a reservation, nobody was at reception to greet us. Turns out reservation had not been necessary, but we waited a long time for a waiter to see us and show us to a table. Food was mediocre and very overpriced for the quality, Although we stayed in the hotel for 6 days, we did not return to Osco for any meals.
The food was tasty and well dressed. The waiter was perfect from the begining to the end. And, I did not know they had special tables for couples. You can isolate your self fron the rest of the restaurant. It felt kind of awkward first, but it was original. Would recommend.
The food was delicious. We particularly enjoyed the Quinoa salad with kale, pumpkin and chia seeds, smoked cheddar, fresh herbs, raisins and squash; the halibut; the rack of lamb. All were very good. The service was okay; from the beginning it appeared that the staff needed additional assistance and was somewhat rushed, but they were nice and professional.
Our group had the breakfast buffet. However it was nothing to write home about unfortunately. The menu indicated that smoked salmon would be part of it and it was not. We had to ask the waitress 3 times before we even got it.
The breakfast is fine for someone staying at the hotel if it is already included but it is not something that we would go out of our way for again.
Service was very good. 3 out of 6 had the steak special, the steak was too salty, 2 of us could not finish it. Due to being allergic to dairy, I ordered my side salad without parmesan. It arrived with parmesan and the waiter took it back. To my surprise, there were still pieces of parmesan in the salad which led me to believe that they tried to remove it instead of giving me a new salad. Being that it was a salad as part of the dish (small) and the caliber of restaurant I found this very cheap on their part.
The food was good, but not great. The atmosphere was cozy and it was definitely convenient. Not crowded at all. Would have been nice if the fireplace actually gave off heat, it was just a fuel cell for looks. The burger wasn't particularly good but the fries were delicious. Nothing to write home about.
We were on vacation in Montreal over the Christmas period and wanted a special meal on Christmas Eve. Osco sounded like the right fit and it was close to our hotel - a necessity in the harsh winter conditions without a car. They offered a 4-course meal with a choice of soup, appetizer, main course and dessert. The food was tasty enough but some of it could have been hotter and the portions seemed a little on the small side. We ordered the lamb and turkey (going traditional), preceded by butternut squash soup and foie gras and smoked salmon as appetizers. Desserts were fairly forgettable (tropezienne pie and yule log). Drinks were expensive and they didn't have the best wine selection but overall it was good enough for Christmas Eve. The wait staff were nice and friendly and we were able to enjoy some live guitar and Christmas songs. There are plenty of other good choices to enjoy in downtown Montreal but this one wasn't bad.
