Chef Romano again accepted the challenge of running the kitchen of a brand new Italian restaurant at Solaia in Englewood. Romano remained at Solaia for over a decade, turning it into one of New Jersey's premier upscale restaurants.
In 2012 Chef Romano decided to go out on his own. He bought Milano Ristorante, and in 2017 changed the name to Oscar's.

We were going out to celebrate my Teens academic achievements and my daughter had to video tape her speech. They were very accommodating giving us time to tape and were very considerate about being quiet. The food and ambiance is always great at Oscars! We appreciate the accommodations!

The 3 course meal was delicious. The flavor, quality, and the portions were great. The restaurant week price fixe choices were excellent. The service was also very good. I would definitely go back and try their regular menu. I just wish they had more choices of wines by the glass.
Service was slow, didn’t have someone checking on us throughout the night... had to flag someone down just to get our check. Other than that food was good
The food was AMAZING. Every dish had such great flavor and our waiter had good knowledge of the menu and could answer questions. We had tasty and unique cocktails as well. Will definitely be back soon.
My family and friends frequent Oscars often because it is ALWAYS a comfortable/ relaxing atmosphere with great service and fantastic food. I recommend the salt & pepper shrimp for an appetizer.
Food was good. However, there wasn't a $23.95 lunch special. Also, when booking, only 11:30 and 11:45 time was available. We were the only party in the restaurant for our entire meal.
A bad experience from start to finish. I made an open table reservation to celebrate my birthday. Never acknowledged despite being part off the reservation and my aunt telling the waiter.
I had to practically beg someone to take my coat or show me where the coat room was upon entering. The service was some of the worst I have experienced as everything took forever to come out and no-one ever came over and asked how we were doing. The food portions were meager (when they finally arrived) for the cost. And as a last insult, the waiter who was asked to split the check put 1/2 on my card and the whole amount on my aunt's further delaying us from escaping this nightmare.
Some examples of food and drinks:
My son and I ordered a Long Island iced tea and we thought they went to Long Island to get it. When they finally arrived with the drinks they were practically clear, tasted funny, we had to send them back and settled on a beer and a glass of wine.
My son ordered chicken parm and it came with a very small piece of chicken and probably a little over 15 pieces of penne pasta as a side.
When I finally received my seafood over pasta dish which was supposed to be Fra Diablo, the sauce was bland and the Lobstertail was rubber. For $33 it came with two clams, two shrimp, and two muscles in addition to the rubber tail.
We had reservations and we were seated in the dining room and while there were a few tables it was not packed. After waiting 15 minutes with no one stopping by with menus, water, etc we flagged someone down and they brought over menus. After 20 plus mins with no one coming to bring water or ask us for a drink order we got up and left. The wait staff seemed disinterested and there was also a strange smell in the restaurant almost like burnt oil. I have never left a bad review for a restaurant before but I have to in this case.
We were there for very early seating so it was practically empty. Food was outstanding and Chef Oscar even came out to say hello.
Somewhat disappointing this time.
Valentine’s Day dinner with my wife that was great!
Reservation for Valentines Day, so we expected the place to be a little busy. However, the complete lack of service was utterly mind baffling. We were going to be 5 minutes late, so I called ahead just to let them know, and was told not a problem. If only I'd known.
Got to the restaurant and stood in the entrance for about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Finally a waitress comes up and says she just needs to take water to this one table and she'll be right with us, and if we'd like to take a seat at the bar and get a drink feel free. So we sat at the bar. Ten minutes later no bartender. Finally someone walks by, and we ask if we can get a drink. The guy rudely says "Well what do you want?" The actual bartenders comes back and takes our order -- I order a beer and my wife a cocktail. My beer gets poured, and then the bartender walks away without a word. The girl from 25 minutes ago finally must have delivered that water because she came back and said she could take us to our table now. We asked her about the drink we were still waiting for and she was completely flustered. Keep in mind we'd been here for at least a half an hour now with virtually no service. We get seated and everyone around us is talking about terrible the service had been. 1 couple said they'd been there for 2 hours and only just gotten their salads. The young couple immediately next to us offered us their bread with a comment of "You should take some you won't be getting anything else soon"
We wait about another 10 minutes and no one comes back to the table. Based on the service so far and the feedback from the other tables we decided to get up and leave. As we were walking out the door the rude waiter from before was leaning over a chair chatting to another table, looked up and must have recognized us and again rudely and sarcastically said "Seeeee ya".
Sorry to say, you won't. Truly a disappointing experience. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
Polished, welcoming staff. Willing to accommodate dietary restrictions by modifying preparation of my fish. The spiced bass was in beyond delicious!!
Been going to Milano's/Oscars for many years and never disappointed. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Rockland.

when we showed up for dinner with our reservation number, they did not have it. Fortunately we were able to get a table anyway. Either a problem with opentable or with Oscars. Food was mediocre

We came in mother's day and I know it was busy but the service was lacking. Food was good but very expensive and portions we're small. I left hungry. If it will survive you need to give bigger portions or lower prices.
I've been to Oscar's twice. Both times my meal was excellent. Our waitress was so pleasant and made the dinner even better. Great wine pour. I will return.

I visited Oscar's twice during restaurant week. After having lunch there and being totally impressed with the food and service, I returned for dinner later that week. The dinner staff was good but the waiter at lunch was just the best!

I had the lobster tails (4) in France Diablo sauce. Fantastic. My guest had half of a lobster stuffed with crab and shrimp in a vodka sauce. That was also excellent.
