The food was nice and well cooked (as requested) it needed a little more of flavor but with some soy sauce and the sauces that they serve was perfectly fine, the person who prepares the hibachi was really funny and nice. My friends who didn’t try it before, loved it so we had a great experience.
Experience was great! I was looking for Hibachi in Boston and realized this is the only one! It was clean, the food was good, and the service was great!
Fair awful rude service and sushi not so good
Best hibachi in Boston. This is our favorite type of place, and this one hits the high notes perfectly. Great salad dressing, great sauces, good prices. We've lived all over the country, including Seattle, and our first move is to find good hibachi. Of allof the ones we've been to, we love this place the most. We're really into the food and show.
Fun and great value using dine out Boston pre-fix menu! The place is huge and dinamic
Four of us went there for Boston Dine Out week. The menu options were excellent, a great value, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our sushi meals!
Sushi were not fresh. Customers service could be friendlier. Food were OK. Not WOW.
Didn't do hibachi but the drinks were strong and the food definitely satisfied that hibachi craving.
The food was absolutely terrible. I ordered avocado salad expecting to eat avocado and when my plate arrived it was long oversized plate with a small dollop of wet iceberg, cheapest zero nutrition lettuce you can get that was coated with what looked like watery mushed avocado. I mean if they used 1/4 of an avocado per plate i'd be shocked! essentially zero avocado and wet iceberg lettuce that looked torn, not even cut. The salad was absolutely tasteless and disgusting. it cost you...what ....50 cents to make and you charge $6-7 for it? I also ordered miso soup and veggie eggroll. miso soup was ok and that I'm guessing is bc its literally ready made paste and hot water so its hard to f up. My eggrolls were soggy on the inside and again barely had any taste...came with a huge bowl of sauce and the serving again was tiny in comparison. I think it was two tiny rolls cut in half. For main dish i ordered chicken hibachi and it was mediocre at best....actually no, it was s*** as well. Chicken was hard and overcooked, vegetables soggy and greasy and rice was blah. It honestly looked and tasted as if a teenager stumbled in a kitchen and had a go at cooking. But I actually don't blame a chef I blame the owners for being completely ignorant in how to run a restaurant and who to hire as a chef. And if they like the food they make they shouldn't be in this business! Everything was extremely overpriced for the serving and the poor quality that it was. In short I'm appalled by this experienced and it made for the worst birthday dinner ever. And another thing...you classify yourself as Japanese steakhouse but your dishes looked and tasted Chinese which I dislike. There was not a single reminder of clean, healthy and tasty Japanese cuisine that I know and love. I will make sure i post this review everywhere I can because this place its so bad it needs to be out of business.
I waited for 45 min after my reservation time to sit down.
I ordered a starter that never came....
The food was good but the wait ruined the dinner.
Good food and service, but not great. Went for restaurant week and got the hibachi steak and lobster. The hibachi chef gave us a lot of food to fill us up. Fried rice was very tasty (my favorite) and steak was well cooked. The lobster was a little salty for my taste, but the sauces they gave to dip our food in tasted great. I gave this place 3 stars because of the cleanliness of the restaurant and the crowded and loud ambiance. My boyfriend's water cup had some white stuff stuck to the side and a lot of things around us were sticky. I would recommend this place as a fun night out with friends, but not if you're looking for a more intimate setting.
Went for the Restaurant Week hibachi prix fixe menu with my large group of 10, and the place was absolutely swamped. Although we didn't mind, everything did take a little longer to come out. Three of us got the same appetizer - two of them came out at the same time, but the third didn't come for another 20 minutes, after the hibachi chef left.
As for the food itself, I think the sushi was tastier than the hibachi. Might be my personal experience, but the entertainment has always been better than the actual food. Overall, still a good evening.
There's a cute lounge downstairs where that wasn't too busy early in the night and they had free karaoke on certain days of the week - I would come back to check it out.
This restaurant has really good food and service. I and my friend enjoy the time spending in the restaurant.
Food was good service could be better
Went for Restaurant Week and the menu was awesome!
Attentive staff, delicious food with creative presentation and great for date night. I love dining at Osaka in Brookline. Definitely recommended to friends.
Good over all, even though it’s the last date
. I told them it was a birthday and they never did anything. The waitress never checked on us once and i never got a refill. The food was fine we finished eating at 745. And the waitress did not come back until 820 and i then had to ask for the check which took another 10 minutes. It was quite disappointing
Sat on the hibachi side of the restaurant. Had a great meal and a good chef. Would definitely recommend coming here for dinner, whether it’s a date or with the family.
This was the third birthday party I have attended at Osaka. The Hibachi chefs are fun and friendly, and you get a large portion of food for a great value. Also, if you come in on your actual birthday, you eat for free!
Hibachi a good experience
Celebrating a birthday. Not a bad spot to go for fun.
Better for groups of people I think, but terrific food every time!!
great food, if slightly overpriced
Food was cold, rice bland, sauce sweet and vegetables soggy. The waitress gave me the wrong drink and poor service
Wonderful birthday dinner!
Awesome food as usual. Delicious.
Food was cold (which is weird because they cooked it in front of us). We paid extra for the noodles and they lacked flavor. Soup was very bland as well.
The cook made everything so fast, like, it was the fastest hibachi I’ve ever seen and they didn’t seem to use that brown butter they usually use at other hibachi restaurants.
Overall, extremely disappointing, especially for the small portions and the not-so-small price. Will travel to the suburbs next time we are craving hibachi.
Great and personable staff. Delicious food and huge portions. You get your money’s worth.
Delicious food, fun atmosphere! Very accommodating service.
Nice atmosphere had a great time for the new year. As a matter of fact I'm going back tonight☺
Great food. Very nice down stairs bar. Extremely loud and busy. Wait staff are terrible. They can barley understand you and never check on there tables.
Always good food and table-side entertainment at Osaka. It's our favorite hibachi in the area
Osaka was a great find. The food was delicious and nicely presented. The staff was generally pleasant, but I felt rushed at times. We sat in a booth that was near drafty windows and we had to wear our coats to stay warm.
We have been there a few times. It was recommended by a friend and we have loved it ever since. The food, the service, the timing is just great. Prices are good too.
We come for every special occasion. Mostly birthdays because the energy is fun and exciting, the staff is great, and the food is delicious. I love that you allow us to bring a cake and even cut it for us after the meal! Love this place and always recommend it to people.
The hibachi chef was wonderful. The rest of the staff was incredibly rude. From the greeter at the door to our waiter. The greeter simply pointed to a table when I arrived rather than showing me where the it was. The waiter snapped at us when we tried to place our order and we had to ask multiple times for water and drinks. They cleared plates while people were still eating. We had a 5pm reservation and were the only people there when we arrived so there was no excuse for the terrible service.
We have NEVER had anything but excellent sushi at this wonderful place. The special rolls are artistically presented and some are quite unusual.
This is a horrible restaurant. Avoid at all costs. The service was terrible. We were seated 35 minuets after our reservation and did not get our food until an hour after our reservation. The performance of the chef was lame. When we complained that they forgot my daughters meal, they didn’t even rush it over. Go anywhere else. There are much better Japanese steakhouses.
