Osaka Japanese Sushi and Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
We come for every special occasion. Mostly birthdays because the energy is fun and exciting, the staff is great, and the food is delicious. I love that you allow us to bring a cake and even cut it for us after the meal! Love this place and always recommend it to people.
The hibachi chef was wonderful. The rest of the staff was incredibly rude. From the greeter at the door to our waiter. The greeter simply pointed to a table when I arrived rather than showing me where the it was. The waiter snapped at us when we tried to place our order and we had to ask multiple times for water and drinks. They cleared plates while people were still eating. We had a 5pm reservation and were the only people there when we arrived so there was no excuse for the terrible service.
This is a horrible restaurant. Avoid at all costs. The service was terrible. We were seated 35 minuets after our reservation and did not get our food until an hour after our reservation. The performance of the chef was lame. When we complained that they forgot my daughters meal, they didn’t even rush it over. Go anywhere else. There are much better Japanese steakhouses.
The place looks great and the food is very good. Many choices and the way they serve is very nice. We only tried the sushi but the hibachi side seems to be very fun. Will definetly have to try next time.
The only unfortunate thing is that we came after 9pm. The place was empty and it seemed like all the waiter cared about was closing
I specifically chose Osaka to celebrate my son's 13th birthday and they totally dropped the ball. Two other people's birthdays were celebrated in close vicinity to us while we were dining. We had our meal and then we were handed the bill. My son had to go find a server to remind them that it was his brother's birthday and then they finally came out with a dessert and candle -- even though I reminded them before we were seated that evening and specified this when I first made my reservation through Open Table. I only went to Osaka for a festive birthday celebration for my 13 year old son. Instead, he was totally overlooked and his birthday was a complete afterthought. Food was fine.
Good food, but customer service was very poor. Waitresses and hostess very unfriendly. We showed up right on time for our reservation and were told to wait "just a few minutes" downstairs at the bar area. There was nobody else there. The hostess came down about 10 minutes later and said they were setting up a table for us. Another 10 minutes later we went upstairs and there was no table. We finally sat down 30 minutes later than our reservation time! There was nobody else waiting, they didn't seem too busy, so none of the 6 of us could understand why we had to wait that long. Their responses to our complains were pretty rude as well.
My wife and I went out here and loved it. We love us some hibachi, and as frequent movers we start looking immediately. This is our favorite place we've ever been, and we just moved back from Seattle. Great sauce, good dressing, rice and noodles on point. Meat is the same pretty much everywhere. Good prices for this type of place. Waiter was not very attentive, but cook was great.
Went for a friend's birthday and they went above and beyond!! The hibachi was AMAZING and the chefs were so entertaining and lively. The communal tables made it so you could interact with others, but also be within your own group. Would absolutely recommend going again--best hibachi in Boston!
Honestly was not that great. I told the chef and the server I was allergic to eggs, as their fried rice has eggs in it, the chef replied to me saying too bad and the server, told the kitchen chef to make me fried rice without eggs but the chef messed up TWICE and had me wait for 45 MINUTES for food. I received no discount for my meal or no apologies whatsoever. The chef made the food with no vibrance, the chefs around him were much better and much more exciting.
We brought my boyfriend's family here for hibachi dinner and it was an alright experience. We remembered the filet mignon and the scallops tasting better (needed more sear and seasoning) and this time there were a lot more families with children so the noise level was a lot louder than we experienced last time. The fried rice cooked with butter was still amazing and the hibachi fire tricks are always fun to see. We didn't get asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu (not sure if they have one because we got dessert with the restaurant week special) so we sadly skipped on that and just paid the bill. We did come in earlier than expected and they seated us anyway, which was super great of them. Overall, it was an okay experience this time.
Great place for large dinner parties. The food good was okay (rice was uncooked) but the chefs for habachi were fun & entertaining. The staff doesn't have the best communication skills. I had a dinner party of 15 and I had to wait all the way downstairs until everyone arrived. I had to ask the waiter to take appetizer orders when he should've asked us instead of standing around looking stupid.
