Me and my Fiance were amaze by the food, service and everything! Our favorite Restaurante Español
My first time at any Jose Graces’ restaurants. The service staff was very friendly, waiter asked if I had been here before, & when I said no, he was very patient explaining the different parts of the menu....,tapas, charcuterie, main courses, etc. the fried artichoke amuse buche was spicy & crunchy at the same time. The foie gras appetizer was tasty, but in my opinion needed some kind of sauce. The olive oil & balsamic drizzle wasn’t enough. For a main course I had the bronzino, seared and served with chick peas & thinly sliced cucumbers. The fish was very tasty & fresh. Way too many flavorless chick peas. The dessert flan with pistachio was also tasty but a bit dry. The prices here are very reasonable. I’ll wait until the kitchen works out all of the kinks before I return.
I work close by and there is always a lively scene happening at the bar and lounge. I decided to give it a try. My nephew was in town and he is a bit of a foodie. I was not disappointed. In fact, it expected my expectations. I look forward to going again and again.
Great service and food. Will definitely come back again.
Always enjoy eating at Jose Garces restaurants , had my sister in law with us who grew up in Spain and she loved all the flavors!
Wow, what a surprise! Came in right before closing and food was wonderful!
Amazing food and excellent service by Freddy.
Food was wonderful
3 of us had bronzino
1 had steak
We all had the carmel chocolate sea salt dessert- decadent!
Phenomenal food, great wine and great service. Surprising being that it is in a hotel and at times square
Overall good experience. Lots of tourists and a hotel/show vibe but good food and quick service
Very authentic Spanish food with an artistic presentation. Also have a good wine selection. San Sebastián lunch specials are a treat.
I really love Jose Garces but this place was a big yawn. Food was meh and it had the ambiance of an airport lounge. Very disappointing!
We ate at this restaurant about a month ago and enjoyed it very much. We were going to the theater very nearby and decided to try it again. Delicious food, unusual recipes, good wine selection and service. I recommend the place and will definitely be back when I am in the area.
Another winner from Garces! Great food in perfect proportions with esthetic grace. Simple, small and quiet hotel restaurant with lovely and soothing decor and excellent service from when you walk in the door until you leave.
Only a limited brunch menu. They were out of the first two things that we ordered. Not sure why they didn't tell us they were out of things before we ordered. $12 for pancakes that barely had any fruit on it. Unimpressed and won't be back.
Server was condescending, food is a bit pricey for the portion size. Very tasty but servers should be a bit more respectful.
This was an amazing experience! The food was delicious. The staff was so attentive. The service was excellent. A perfect gem hidden near the Bryant Park/Times Square area.
I stumbled upon this place in my search on opentable. I have been looking for a good basque restaurant and this was great. With so many restaurants at this price point, this place stands out. The food options are great such that almost anyone will find something they like (everything looked great to me). As soon as I saw the plates, I felt the food was going to be great and it didnt disappoint. The coffee which they make themselves and the desserts were also excellent
Food and service were great! I am a good network groupie and this is a must!
Great menu choices for everyone and attentive service. . Convenient parking on street too. Nice touches, including great desserts!
The food and atmosphere was amazing. I would recommend this restaurant to friend and family. I’m an definitely coming back. Thank you all!
Found this gem perusing OpenTable for restaurants nearby while having a glass of wine at the rooftop lounge at the Knickerbocker Hotel. The food was outstanding - not a bad dish of several small shared plates. A perfect way to end our conference week.
The best paella ever. Perfectly crispy and so flavourful. They have a nice happy hour at the hotel bar and lounge where you can get apps and drinks for a good deal.
We had a delightful experience with the tapas selection. We are looking forward to our next meal which will be the tasting menu.
It was good, especially the cocktail!
It was our Anniversary
Excellent Spanish food in a beautiful space. Everything was perfect and delicious from beginning to end. A rare find for a pre-theater meal!
Well, I guess we had high hopes reading the other reviews online.
I have spent quite a lot of time in the Pyrenees and in the Basque region over the last decade and I love the area, I have always had good experiences in Basque restaurants and bars.
But unfortunately we didn't have a great experience at this restaurant.
There was a list of 5 french rose wines; great!
Except that only one was in stock, and none of the ones we wanted.
It went on like this.
If you are going to have a wine list, please stock at least half of the wines.
Overall a disappointing experience and I won't be returning.
I don't think the staff who we met had had much understanding of where the Basque region is, or its culture. Maybe some more pinxtos on the menu would help add some variety.
We visited Ortzi before going to theater. They serves tapas so it's ideal when you want to have something quick, but good, in a nice-atmosphere restaurant. Food was nice. It was not so crowded so we could talk without screaming. Definitely one of the option for pre-theater.
First time here and definitely will return. Interesting menu with something for everyone.
This was a great positive surprise. We did a lot of small dishes (tapas) and ended up in a phenomenal octopus paella. I added to my list of favors and plan to come back again and again!
Fantastic meal and great service.
Thoroughly enjoyed this meal, one of us did tapas the other the prix fixe. Cannot wait to go back
We had a great dinner! Amazing food and great service!
After theater matinee dinner
A wonderful new choice in the Theater District. Quick faultless service, excellent wines by the glass, tapas list allows you to create a meal that matches your level of hunger.
Beautiful dining room and service/staff was amazing!
Nice space very good food outstanding service . Loved the decor of this small but bright spot. Amazing cocktails and delicious food served with style and grace.
Wonderful—every dish delicious; staff was attentive and made excellent recommendations. It is a gem of a place.
Great food, great service, I really loved it. I celebrated my bday there with a friend and our waiter even put a candle on my dessert :-) I had a wonderful time.
