Ortzi is a Basque-inspired Spanish tapas bar & wine restaurant from James Beard-award winning chef Jose Garces located on the lobby level of the brand new LUMA Hotel Times Square. The forty-five seat dining room is built around an open kitchen focused on a rustic, yet elegant approach to the cuisine of the Basque country and Northern Spain. In the lobby of the hotel, Ortzi offers a more casual, first come, first serve bar and lounge serving the same menu as the dining room and centered around a beverage program inspired by the wines and spirits of Northern Spain and Atlantic France. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are served daily and reservations are for the dining room only.

The place is small but very attractive, modern and comfortable. Some tables are pretty close to each other wich gives it a Mediterranean vibe despite the contemporary design. I have never before had Basque food and I liked it a lot. I especially recommend the BUÑUELOS DE BACALAO and the PATACAS. Worth a visit!!

Excellent food. The croquettes are outstanding and the octopus and Cochinillo, superb. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I’ll come back here every time I can.

Plumped first this restaurant at the last minute and wasn’t disappointed. Nice place and good value... went for the squid and Serrano gam for starters both of which were nice. For main my wife had the duck and I went for the Spanish octopus. Both cooked very well ... duck was very soft and seasoned well and my octopus perfect... creamy mash paired the two dishes well and washed down with a house wine as original choice wasn’t available which was a shame. Nevertheless a good value place with good food. Would recommend

Our anniversary dinner there was lovely started with a glass of proseco on the house. Our paella was fun to share and our time there was very relaxing. Perfect way to start our evening out on the way to the theater

The service was excellent. The server was attentive but not intrusive. There were a number of excellent wine options. Our all around favorite dish was the Patacas. Everything cooked to perfection, flavorful, and excellent variety of mouth feel. Truly excellent. The other orders were small and underwhelming but The Cordero was also enjoyed.
