Great service and great food!
It was wonderful. The food was delicious and our server was very informative and fry
Just hours before our dinner reservation, I got a text saying the restaurant was not open. Apparently they decided to close because they did not have enough reservations. The hotel did make a reservation for us in town. The food at Alba was excellent.
Food was very tasty, however, I didn’t particularly like that for the set menu that night, all of the starter options as well as all of the main course options were pasta based. Also, my husband had the gnocchi as his main course and we were quite disappointed in the portion size, especially compared to my halibut/risotto dish. He literally could have eaten it in 3 moderately sized bites.
Great place for a special celebration. Amazing food.
Need a bit more attention to service. Ran out of wine ( had to pour our own) and water which shouldn’t happen. Didn’t check ion the food after it was delivered to the table. Took too much time to pick up dirty dishes. Not what we would expect From a better restaurant- which is what they are pro-porting to be. Not what I would have thought for a Fairmont a experience. Note, they were attentive to allergies.
Consistently great food and friendly, professional service. Felt very safe at the hotel given all of the COVID precautions being taken.
Overall very nice but exceedingly slow service. We think something went awry in the kitchen with our order
The service was great, but food was not worth the price. Disappointed in the menu and food
The experience of dinning here was awesome. The dinner presented was unique and tasty. Service was top notch.
I had an amazing meal. The squid ink tagliatelle with shrimp was so good I could have had another dish. It was pricey, but worth it for the food, view, and atmosphere.
The food was bland and portions were very small. No quality or value for the charge of $68. Very disappointed with this fairmont restaurant that describes it as comparable to Italy. Thumbs down.
This was our third dining experience in Jasper and it was the poorest experience by far. We ate at Raven and the meal was outstanding as was our meal at Fiddle River. Both were also great value. They are truly an excellent dining experience. We found the opposite at JPL. The most disappointing part was the quality of the meal - it was horrible. I ordered the seafood pasta meal and got two pieces of shrimp and three tiny pieces of squid. My husband and I laughed at it - it was a joke. It was not near the quality we have done to expect from JPL. We were expecting meals that were similar in quality to Raven and Fiddle Rivet because the prices were comparable.
The food and restaurant may come under the heading of "fine dining", but the setting is a "Lodge", and as such I found it to be very comfortable and welcoming. Elegance without pretension. The wine list was extensive but pricey, some more modestly priced options would be appreciated. Service was excellent, the complimentary amuse and granite dishes a welcome surprise.
Amazing food & service!
The menu choices were very limited and the main course was not cooked as requested. They need to offer a fish and poultry option. The dessert was a 10/10 - Chocolate Gelato with Chocolate and Hazelnut sauce!!
Our reservation was for 6 Red Hat Ladies from our Spruce Grove Chapter. A few times a year we like to dress up and attend a nice dinner. The ambiance is so nice here with the mountain backdrop.
We were a little disappointed in the cost of the meal with the limited menu and the extravagant cost of our drinks, but in all, it was pleasant.
Food was ok. Potato’s were lumpy and plain, desert wasn’t my favourite and thought was plain tasting as well. Me and wife ordered wagyu ribeye but wasn’t nearly as good as a wagyu as the 1888 steakhouse In Banff. Father ordered pork chop and only had 2 beers for drinks and came out to just under 400 dollars. For the price I would go elsewhere.
Server have no idea on what is on the menu. Our bill was 600 dollars for 4 people and you would think he knows what is on the menu and this server has no clue. Food was very average. Not impressed at all.
The food is very pricey for the quality. Presentation was poor and it really was nothing special. Our server was excellent and the best part of the dinner.
We don’t mind paying the price if the quality matches the cost... but this did not!
We loved everything but would have appreciated a little extra given it was an anniversary dinner. Our annual dinner to a different Fairmont each year, and most Fairmont's do something. Yet it is a beautiful place, the food was excellent and the service, very fine. The hotel and setting is amazing.
The view was beautiful, service was great, the waygu ribeye was done perfect at medium rare, the spaghetti and scallop were tasty but very disappointed that that you get one medium scallop.
Delicious food with phenomenal service! Could not have had a better experience. Julien was an amazing server! Would totally recommend. Great service, beautiful view, and delicious food.
Classy location and ambiance
Excellent. Quite pricey for a small pasta dish - service excellent and food tasty
Beautiful location with weather cooperating. Service good and amiable. Portions except for meat options small. Veal chop very good, sides not exciting. Cauliflower unappetizing, potatoes goopy. Porterhouse good. Boar bolognese tasty but a little oversalted. Portion small for a main. Desserts attractive but too small and gelato wasn't creamy. Appetizers and desserts way too small portion wise. If the idea is elegant that's good but people still want their money's worth. The drinks and wines are always very good at a Fairmont.
We came here for our anniversary dinner and were very disappointed. The service is excellent but that's about all that was great. Our steaks were extremely undercooked and one of them was tough and chewy. Our brocolini was barely even cooked. The appetizers were good but really just 2 small bites. For a fine dining restaurant we really expected the food to be top notch. We provided feedback and the server and manager removed the additional charge for the meat which was appreciated. However, we ended up paying 68 dollars per person for the tiniest appetizer, subpar mashed potatoes, cauliflower and hard brocolini and ice cream for dessert. (We also thought it was strange that the hostess was the only person not required to wear a mask). If you are looking for a nice meal I'd probably avoid this restaurant and try some of the other places in town.
We enjoyed our dinner very much. The whole experience was just lovely. Our waiter was fabulous!! I think his name was Jason
Food was excellent. Flavorful and tasty. Wine very expensive.
The food was excellent and the service was an excellent balance of professionalism and friendliness and well the view was outstanding
The food is amazing. excellent service and the ambiance is perfect for families. I love the place. We will definitely come back to this restaurant.
When we visited, Orso Trattoria was offering a fixed 3 course menu. We felt very safe while visiting in these COVID-19 times, and the service was excellent. Lovely view of the mountains and lake at the JPL.
Tim, our server, was putstanding and able to answer all of our questions. Great service, great food, great location and a wonderful dining experience.
The menu is somewhat limited now compared to normal during these Covid times. Excellent level of safety precautions being taken. They prepare the best steaks you will ever eat! First class service in a dining room that offers a full view of Lac Beauvert and the surrounding mountain range. Definitely planning a return trip.
Carley was amazing! She made our two nights here so special. We didn’t feel worried about COVID and just enjoyed the service, food, wine and view. I would come back in a heartbeat.
We had a very good experience at Orso. Seated promptly and given a view table as requested. View and ambiance was great. Service was pleasant and professional. We weren't rushed but didn't feel ignored. My elk was delicious and while my wife's ribeye was tasty, it was too fatty, even for a ribeye. Sides were excellent. We felt it was good value for the price.
Fantastic food in a beautiful setting with top-notch service.
Excellent Prix fixe menu. Delicious food. Good wines. Knowledgeable and efficient service.
Service was okay. Food was poor to okay. Makes overall value for the high price very poor. Not sure if COVID has anything to do with it. Friends of ours had same overall experience the day before.
There are few places as picturesque as the Jasper Park Lodge. Orso is their fine dining room at the resort. The setting is a pretty room with huge windows looking out over Lac Beauvert. During COVID the restaurant was offering a 3 course menu for $68 with surcharges for the more meat centric dishes. We tried the bison tenderloin wrapped in prosciutto, the boar chops and a spaghetti with beef short rib. The food was yummy- not exciting or innovative, but tasty and the meat of the highest quality and perfectly cooked. Dessert was 2 choices - something involving Grand Marnier and chocolate cake - yum! and a rhubarb and raspberry sorbet - also yum and beautifully presented. The service was warm and friendly but lacking in professionalism and precision - we were given enough olive oil and balsamic in our little dipping dishes to start our own retail outlet and some was spilled sloppily on the table cloth. The waiter relied on us to pass him dishes rather than making the journey all the way around the table. A little too casual for their best dining. I know that COVID is making everything more challenging but I would have liked to see a little more imagination on the menu. Our starter was a glorified breaded and deep fried meat pie (beef, pees and mashed potatoes). With a bolder, tangier sauce to accompany it - may be. But I thought it lacked sophistication. The lamb ravioli was a nobler attempt. With just a little more effort this could be an amazing culinary destination for people traveling Jasper National Park.
