Lovely place. The service is friendly and superb. The ambience is real French bistro. The food is very good. This place is reliably enjoyable.
Magical experience. Great food and wine- plus the ambiance is superb
They have a wonderful and underrated raw bar. I had the salmon and my daughter had the steak tartare. The tartare is one of the best in the city.
Great food and patio.
Second July 4 at this wonderful restaurant. I had cod special. Everybody’s food was great. Granddaughter had grilled cheese. Sh is only 16 months old and it was too well done. They made it again and it was better. The variety of cookies were delicious as were the berries. Excellent coffee!
Very cute French classic bistro, but the service was below par given the higher price range (they were understaffed that day I would assume) 27 dollars for a burger for lunch wasn’t justified, it was tasty, but not that tasty, the bread was delicious. Overall a good meal, but nothing write home about.
Great food as always but stumbled across a surly server.
Best steak tartare and tarte tatin anywhere. Actually everything is suberb! Chapeau!
First visit here for a special occasion and very disappointed. The ambiance and noise level were good and the service was very good, but each dish was a disappointment. Escargot was prepared with bread crumbs essentially absorbing all the melted butter that I and probably many others use to dip bread and the appearance with the parsley was like a solid green cover over the entire preparation, which in my opinion detracted from the presentation. My red snapper (which I eat from time to time) and which I typically recall as a light delicate fish (much like tilapia), was "meaty" like a swordfish or tuna and very salty as was the accompanying red pepper couscous. My wife's duck (requested well done) was also very salty and not crisp. The tart tatin was served in a "deconstructed" fashion (not so noted on the menu). There were slices of apple on a small very hard piece of crust (need a knife to cut) and at the other end of the oval or rectangular plate was a scoop of ice cream on top of the cinnamon crumble. It was O.K., but the atypical way in which it was served (without noting so on the menu) was a bit bothersome.
I was hosting my Milanese cousin / family to what I cherished , Orsay. What a mistake. The service was horrible.
Food alone won’t do it, you need a staff that genuinely cares for the patrons
Great food, great service.
We always enjoy the restaurant. Only problem seen on several occasions they serve undercooked fish. We all had raw salmon this night. They need to taste their fish
Service was attentive but not hovering.
And the food was excellent.
Had plans this evening as the final meal of our month in New York City. We have lived nearby and wanted to top off a great month with a great meal. We weren't disappointed. The steak was good the oysters excellent and the French onion soup was tremendous. Service was prompt and attentive. Table settings and interior decor which we have seen many times before continues to make us feel as if we are in Paris. We like this restaurant and recommend it.
Always great! Service, food, ambiance!
Average food; average age of crowd was 70. Great place to take grandma - she’ll love it.
A classic! Martinis on point. My friend ordered the Monday special, lapin (rabbit) and it was delicious.
Most reliable restaurant in the area. Delicious food, reliable and friendly service. Always take out of town guests who love it.
It was uncomfortably hot. Doors were open & air condition was not cooling restaurant. Would not recommend for summer.
This was the latest in a number of visits to Orsay- all enjoyable, but this one was the best. We had a delicious brunch basking in the sunlight at our outdoor table. Wait staff was attentive, but not intrusive. Food was great!
Overall food is fine, service was good, but I expected more from this place. They just shocked me when served foie gras with regular american bread for 99 cents...
Birthday celebration for our adult daughter. We sat on outdoor patio so there was street noise, but at 8:00 pm on a Friday evening it wasn’t enough to interrupt our conversation. Inside the dining room may have been louder. The food was excellent and the service was very good. I’d go again.
Our waiter was totally inattentive and the service was awful even after we got a manager to take our order. Fire alarm keep going off with the loudest, blaring sound several times during our lunch. No one from management apologized for the fire alarm disturbance. Lack of respect to patrons trying to have a nice dining experience or conversation over lunch. At end of our meal, waiter did not return credit card and we did not realize it until evening. We called twice to management asking them to look for it both the day of lunch and the morning afterwards and each time was told they don't have it. Finally, restaurant called to say they finally found it. Total disappointing experience.
Had a blast - great Peking duck!
Another wonderful meal! Always a pleasure to dine here.
First time here for brunch - delicious!!! Love this neighborhood place!
It’s a shame the food isn’t better because it’s a really pretty restaurant with great ambiance.
Excellent service in French tradition. We had Dorado cooked to perfection- moist and flavorful with crispy skin.
Nice day out nice time
The food here was fantastic. My waiter was lovely BUT-TOO BUSY TO Give the service we deserved for the price of the food. I would recommend to go at a less busy time- if there is one.
I had a wonderful lunch dining experience at Orsay yesterday. The ambience is warm and welcoming, and the service staff is most attentive and accommodating. The food is stupendous! I highly recommend Orsay to anyone who enjoys dining in a lovely, quiet place with fantastic French fare.
Classic French Bistro. The food was very good, if not inspired and it was a bit pricey. Definitely worth a try.
We like this very French Bistro, which is neighborhood friendly.
Great place! Thanks to the captain Cloudio, you are always the best recommending us a good wine
Great French bistro with wonderful food. Our go-to restaurant in the neighborhood. So glad it’s possible to sit outside for dinner again!
Dinner was excellent as was the service. On a nice spring NYC evening, the restaurant's decor really added to the experience.
Food and service were excellent. Would definitely return and highly recommend it to friends.
Excellent food and service. Started with jumbo shrimp. Shared 7. Delicious. Then steak frites (prepared perfectly) and roast chicken. Finally shared profiteroles. Had a bottle of Macon Villages. Or say has the feel of a French Brasserie. Highly recommended
For a neighborhood bite with nice atmosphere, it is a safe choice...however, the service can be spotty and some servers/table "attendants" have attitude, which is never a good thing in a service business.
UES mainstay. Solid French fare and superior service with the feel of a French cafe. In nice weather you can watch the world go by while dining outside.
