I've been to Orsay before, and was taking a date for her birthday. We had a wonderful time. The atmosphere Friday night was very cozy and yet very vibrant. The place gets loud, but not in an annoying way. The wait staff are excellent and warm. It has a very Euro feel to it, which was just what I wanted--and she found it delightful, and said she'd love us to go back sometime soon. Great food, great wine, great night.
Food was mediocre
Excellent. Great French bistro. Lively atmosphere. Consistent good food and service. High noise level. Close seating. Pricey deserts. Good wine selection.
Always excellent and the best captain in the city.
Always a pleasure! I've continued to visit over the years and never disappointed.
Good location (close to subway), good food, good service, tasteful and stylish decoration.
Great service, food and wine. Thanks to Claudio for always being very attentive with us
Always consistent. Great steak au poivre
Excellent pate. One of my favorites
Lovely and festive but with old world charm and impeccable service. Yummy cocktails followed by their famous prime rib. Truly a memorable meal.
Un peu trop bruyant mais franchement c'est un tel régal que l'on fait abstraction du bruit. Demander une table côté bar pour plus de calme.
Fodd is delicious and the service is friendly.
Ordered steak medium. It came out well done. They did take it back but the toothpick said medium and unless I said something they would have left it like that. It was taken back but really they should not have served it. I thought that was a turn off!
Easter brunch - very crowded but well managed and good service. Food excellent as always and everything in the order for four was correct and prompt. Well done!
My family & I very much enjoyed our Easter Brunch at Orsay. Everything was wonderful - the food, service and atmosphere! We will definitely be back!
Once again perfect for Easter brunch!
Wonderful professional staff took great care of us!
One of NYC's "authentic" bistros well worth the walk from Museum Mile. In the midtown moderate price range-- on the order of $70+ for lunch with wine. Sidewalk lining tables year-round. Quality ingredients, a mid-level by the glass price list. Heavy on the salt shaker. Ask them to hold back.
We met up with some French friends that we haven't seen in a while. They even loved the food. Everything was perfect. The lamb special on Thursdays blew me away and I didn't even know I liked lamb until that night. Highly recommend.
We go there often after Sunday mass. This Sunday, it was very crowded so service was a little off but our waiter tried. The front desk girl at the coach check, that was a different story. She actually told me, “I am very busy and I have many things to do” when taking our coats. She walked away and took our coats later. I was left at the front entrance wondering if she was taking the coats or not. She needs major attitude fixing. She is the first person customers meet when entering the restaurant. She sets the expectations. Yes I understand the place was very crowded and she was overwhelmed but we as customers have nothing to do with that. My thoughts: If it weren’t for customers she wouldn’t have a job. Maybe we should find another career where she doesn’t deal with people.
It was pleasant...they gave a quiet table int he corner, where I was able to have a pleasant, quiet conversation....hopefully, they will remember this table next time...The food and service were outstanding ! Will absolutely return !
Food was good, as was service and ambiance.
Excellent dinner/excellent service
i go to orsay very often and always enjoy it. this time I ordered the plat du jour of roast beef and i was sharing it as it is a large portion. i asked the waiter to give us a bone... he ignored us and sliced the meat very thinly without a bone.. my partner then asked the maitre d about it and he listened and never came back to the table...
Really good food and service, but too expensive for a French bistro.
Excellent as always
Food is excellent, but expensive. The Steak Frites is a better value than the Steak au Poivre. No reasonably priced wines, but beer is a good option.
Authentic piece of Paris in NYC. Excellent brunch options - Eggs Benedict and the Prime rib served Table side with lashings of horseradish sauce is why we go back often!
Lively and not too noisy. Service was good. Food was not too good.
From the time we arrived until we left, we were well looked after. The service was amazing. The same is true of the meal....amazing. It was a very pleasant experience!
The waiter was fine, but the rest of the staff was unprofessional. The noise lever was dreadful. I couldn't hear my dinner companions because of noisy table to every side.
Food was very good, but as is all too usual these days, the service was overly intrusive. Sometimes, less is more.
Traditional upper eastside atmosphere. Food was excellent.
Been going to Orssy for 20 years. Live everything about it. You will never be disappointed.
Great place, very helping people, staff very caring, and all meals were delicious. It was Wonderful
The food and service were impeccable. I highly recommend this elegant restaurant for a fine dining experience or for special occasions.
Orsay always provides a beautiful atmosphere, delicious food and exceptionally professional service.
The food and atmosphere were really lovely, albeit a little pricey for the portion sizes, and the service was good - attentive but not intrusive - albeit confusing (greeted by at least 2 people before being seated; a 2nd server asked if we would like to order drinks after we had already ordered drinks from our main server). The Eggs Norwegian melts in your mouth - eggs perfectly poached, freshest salad dressed with a gorgeous vinaigrette, and just right potatoes - divine! The hollandaise sauce is light as a feather. A very nice place to splurge on a special occasion meal.
Enjoyed the meal very much. Food was very good. Waitress was very friendly and very knowledgeable . Enjoyable bistro experience.
Fabulous food from soup through coffee and dessert. Lamb shank/saffron risotto - delicious! Coq au vin - not a bit left. Excellent wine, service. We will be back!
We have been to Orsay several times. We always enjoy it. The food and service is good and the atmosphere transports you right to Paris.
