Mother's Day Menus & Specials
Come celebrate Mother's day at Orsay. We'll be offering a prix fixe menu including a basket of Vienoiserie, a choice of appetizer and a choice of entrée. Indoor or outdoor seating including our beautiful extended pergola.
Very nice atmosphere and very adherent to COVID guidelines. Great food is always nice too.
Hair in the appetizer. 20 min to get first drink. Won’t go back.
Great food, lots of outdoor seating, really good French food.
Excellent food. Bread outstanding. Good wine selection.
I didn't realize you were serving a limited menu outside. Fair enough, though I missed your Orsay salad.
Must say your hamburger, which both my companions had looked great.
The Black Sea Bass lived up to its reputation for being delicious. Wait staff was very good but they are overtaxed by the number of tables set up in such close quarters outside. The difficulty for them getting around the Plexiglas partitions takes away from the excellent service they are capable of. Still all in all a great dining experience and on we will repeat often.
We sat outside due to Covid, and the outdoor setup was as good as it could be. I appreciated the outdoor heaters. The service was good, but not great. The food was meh for the fairly hefty price. My Croque Madame was fairly burned on one side. All in all a nice place to go for a special occasion, but wouldn't go out of my way to go there.
The Easter brunch Prix Fix menu was delightful!
Ate outdoors so this refers to that. Very well organized for anti-virus measures. Actually much more pleasant experience than sometimes is, because fewer people! Lovely wait staff who were very respectful of the rules, and they are well set up with plastic barriers etc. The inside did not look crowded or worrying. Full marks!
I was happy to see many diners out on Easter Sunday. Although I was aware a party of five would be given 1.5 hrs. to eat, I did not feel rushed. I think the crowd subsided and we were allowed to stay longer. My salad was underwhelming and the salmon was fine. Nothing to write home about. The service was pleasant and overall I like the ambience of the restaurant very much.
Outdoor dining has been very good. The balcony works very well but the new constructions are ok too. Hats off to a big effort to stay open during pandemic.
Beautiful restaurant, great desserts, very accommodating to our kids (8 and 11). Would go back!
Had lunch with my family.
Tuna tartare average. Escargot average.
Oysters average.
Croque monsieur better than average
Beef bourguignone average, on the dry side
Salmon better than average.
1 sauvignon blanc
1 Bordeaux
Total $390 with tip.
Probably won't go back.
A good meal in lively atmosphere
The tuna tartare was superb. Only thing to say is that we asked for medium rare burger and got a fairly well done one-somewhat disappointing but minor compared to the overall experience.
Enjoyed the ambience and service.
Orsay deserves its reputation but needs to tone down their pricing. Charging $54 for a steak entree because my girlfriend couldn't eat entirely on her own is a bit rich. Also charged too much for drinks, but you can say that about most establishments in NYC. They did provide us with a complimentary glass of champagne since celebrating a birthday.
Date night
Always wonderful French Bistro fare. A go to restaurant for us always! Never disappoints
The black Seabass was out of this world, I’m considering returning just for that alone. The service was exceptional with being attentive when needed. Orsay is one of my favorite restaurants.
Food quality seems to be going down, quality of meat, freshness of food
The appetizers and main courses were excellent; but what ever you do, get the caramelized meringue dessert!
The 1 hour max stay is outrageous
Wonderful brunch outside on a beautiful spring day. Service was lovely. We shared delicious fries, my shrimp salad and sauvignon blanc were great, his smoked tuna salad was really good too.
Great as usual
FANTASTIC!!
There was a mouse on the floor that several stuff members were trying to catch while I was exiting the bathroom on the ground floor. My party tried to address the issue with the waitress and manager. Manager was avoiding us for the rest of our stay. No apologies from the stuff except " oh, it's New York". Very disappointed and concerned about sanitation issues, although service and food were nice.
Food was so bad! Steak au poivre sauce tasted like chemicals — could not eat it. Steak not cooked in sauce, in fact, as it’s supposed to be prepared. My friend had a hamburger—so rare he could only eat parts. Was the food ever good here? I’ve polled others who say not really. It’s such an attractive, convenient space—they have adapted to COVID like champs, even though the owner thinks it’s a hoax.
Consistently excellent food.
Ok so I ask for house Pinot ...and I find out later it’s 25$ per glass ..really? Steak was tough and no flavor. The scallops were great.
I don’t want to be tempted by the fries that come with the steak, so I ask for spinach instead. “Sorry no substitutes”. So I order the spinach and then he goes....”will bring the fries anyway as she might like them” Are you kidding me? So he brings them and of course she ate a few and I ate the rest. The point was we did not want to be tempted not overruled by the waiter.
Too much attitude and not enough value.
Table ready when we arrived. Appreciated that our previous request was honored. Food was delicious and service, was attentive. Definitely recommend
It would be hard to beat Orsay's Happy Hour ( 4 to 7 pm and 10 to 12 pm) half price menu. Service is top rate. Best oysters on the half shell I've had. My favorite restaurant in town.
Our server was so nice and accommodating.
The tuna tartar and roast chicken were perfect
We reserved a table for 4 outside well in advance s as and were seated 45 minutes late. That was the best part of our evening. It took us awhile to get wait staff to take our order. Then the service was quite slow. We had to ask servers to check on our order 2-3 times for each course. When food finally arrived at least 2 out of four orders were incorrect and had to be sent back! The food was mediocre at best. It was a very disappointing dinner.
Consistently good
We arrived a bit early and were graciously welcomed ! Service was pleasant and diligent and the food as always was superb !
We were inside the restaurant which was carefully arranged for best distancing - a total pleasure !
Merci Orsay !💖🌺
Delicious food with a beautiful atmosphere! Safe for an alfresco dining ! I enjoyed the dessert menu and the service was excellent.
It was lovely - and perfectly choreographed to eating outside because of the pandemic.
Every special request was met with resistance or a fee. We asked for nutmeg or cinnamon on a cappuccino and was told they dont have these spices. I was born at night, but not last night. Service was spotty as it started to get busy. Overall a decent French place. Surprised no foie gras or terrine. It is no Le Bernardin, but good.
