Great service. Helped me to select a better wine bottle than initially chosen. They had great attention to detail. The food came out timely and hot and was delicious. Will definitely return.
A very pleasing menu in a beautiful room with wonderful service from beginning to end.
French onion soup was bland, Coq Au Vin was horrible — blob of mashed potatoes with 2 precooked chicken thighs and a drumstick cooked fairly quickly with a spoonful of gravy. Mediocre experience.
Clearly a neighborhood hang-out with well-dressed couples and families enjoying the excellent value bistro fair. Polished staff works as a team to deliver an enjoyable experience. Within walking distance of The Met.
Orsay is a favorite standby for lunches or dinners. The service is great and the food is delicious.
Great UES French Bistro
The osso bucco is out of this world. Ditto the Parmesan grits. We loved the duck foie gras. And the best floating island creme Anglaise ever. The champagne is delightful. We have always enjoyed a great meal here!
Pretty good. Was worried about some of the bad reviews but found it to be a solid establishment serving traditional French fare, including the best steak tartare in town.
The should be commended -- all excellent. Nothing bad here. Just a bit noisy, with Old New York dark wood paneling style (hence the noise, I suppose).
Orsay is always just perfect for classic French cuisine. Perhaps the best fries in NYC as well. I love the place and hit it once every couple of months.
Always a pleasure to go to our neighborhood gem!
C’est chouette !
Nice family place as well as date night
VERY NICE RESTAURANT.GOOD FOOD AND REASONABLE PRICES.IF YOU LIKE FRENCH FOOD YOU SHOULD VISIT
Our first time there and we will certainly return. We tried it for Restaurant Week Dinner and everything was delicious. We went early on a Friday and the noise level was perfect til around 7 when it was full and loud.
Was ignored after I sat and was waiting for my guest until I asked for a glass of wine. Wondered, were I a man, would that have happened?
Old school, classic place. Older patronage. Wait staff was not that engaged/ too busy. Food was decent to good.
It has become our delicious neighborhood Club, and absolutely a delight.
Just a reliable nice meal and service. Wish wine was. It so expensive.
Excellent each time I dine at Orsay. Had the Restaurant week special this time. The beef bourguignon was savory and tender. The poached pair salad was a combination as lettuces, blue cheese and pear that was very satisfying. The service could not have been better. There is an excellent selection of French (and other) wines.
Thank you for making our dinner and evening pleasant for our guests.
Food was mediocre and overpriced, it seems like Orsay’s glory days were in the past. Beautiful building though.
Great Evening! Will always recommend it to others
Very pleasant and classic French restaurant, as one would expect from the DeNoyer Group. Beautifully decorated and appointed, the menu is comprehensive, the food is quite good and the service is pleasant and professional. The maitre 'd team is especially considerate, and first rate.
I had dinner, followed by brunch the next morning, and expect to return to this dependable spot very soon.
Wonderful escargots and coqu van
Consistently good bistro fare in Parisian setting. Excellent and friendly service.
As always, when I dine at Orsay, I feel like I am in a wonderful Parisian Brasserie. The ambiance is charming, the food and service are exceptional, and the noise level is normal, so that one can have a conversation with your fellow diner, or group. I have eaten at Orsay both for lunch and dinner, and either meal is delicious.
The restaurant also has an excellent list of wine by the glass.

Felt like I was transported to a great bistro in Paris, bustling crowd at just the right noise. The staff was extremely courteous, attentive and efficient yet we never felt rushed. The food was delicious and portioned just right. There will definitely a return. Most enjoyable lunch!
Restaurant Week Lunch exceeded expectations. I went alone but will visit again soon for business or pleasure
We all had the chicken, which was average in my opinion. Not bad, but nothing special. Our side orders were not correct. Not sure if it was a language issue or just bad wait staff. I hadn’t been in some time and will not rush back as I found the dinner and service very mediocre.
nice service, food well prepared, and good value.
I had hoped the tuna tartare could be made into a tuna burger, but that wasn't; possible
The menu looked appealing. In the past a shared appetizer has been split in the kitchen. This time we were told the kitchen would not do this. The monkfish was not served in a whole piece but rather was sliced and cooked and placed on a bed of beans. The food was so hot it must have been reheated in a microwave. The beans were in a sauce called tomato but was of a muddy brown color and tasted mostly of salt. The special baked apple dessert was a disappointment. a rather small, dried out apple with some nice ice and a bit of crushed almond. Certainly not worth the $14.00 but would have been unappealing at any price.
Excellent food and service. We took a long time over lunch and never felt rushed.
I had a real issue with terrible sun glare. They could do nothing and did not offer to move me to a new table even when one was available . Waitress also neglected to bring part of our order.
A bit of Paris in New York. Masterfully prepared cuisine and a tempting array of wines, cocktails, and aperitifs. The beef melts on the mouth, the salmon is sublime, the oysters are plump, and the Negronis aren't too sweet. Orsay is everything you could want in a restaurant. Highly recommend for a lively night out and a great place for group celebrations. The ambiance is old world and chic.
Service is excellent. Excellent neighborhood restaurant. Will be back
The special of the day was roast beef. They were sold out by 730
