Valentine's Day Special Menus & More
Take your valentine to an authentic Parisian-Brasserie. Orsay is a beautiful testament to the French brasserie and the Art Nouveau period. The chef marries modern French and classic brasserie fare that will transport you to Paris.

Great Evening! Will always recommend it to others
Very pleasant and classic French restaurant, as one would expect from the DeNoyer Group. Beautifully decorated and appointed, the menu is comprehensive, the food is quite good and the service is pleasant and professional. The maitre 'd team is especially considerate, and first rate.
I had dinner, followed by brunch the next morning, and expect to return to this dependable spot very soon.
Wonderful escargots and coqu van
Consistently good bistro fare in Parisian setting. Excellent and friendly service.
As always, when I dine at Orsay, I feel like I am in a wonderful Parisian Brasserie. The ambiance is charming, the food and service are exceptional, and the noise level is normal, so that one can have a conversation with your fellow diner, or group. I have eaten at Orsay both for lunch and dinner, and either meal is delicious.
The restaurant also has an excellent list of wine by the glass.

Felt like I was transported to a great bistro in Paris, bustling crowd at just the right noise. The staff was extremely courteous, attentive and efficient yet we never felt rushed. The food was delicious and portioned just right. There will definitely a return. Most enjoyable lunch!
Restaurant Week Lunch exceeded expectations. I went alone but will visit again soon for business or pleasure
We all had the chicken, which was average in my opinion. Not bad, but nothing special. Our side orders were not correct. Not sure if it was a language issue or just bad wait staff. I hadn’t been in some time and will not rush back as I found the dinner and service very mediocre.
nice service, food well prepared, and good value.
I had hoped the tuna tartare could be made into a tuna burger, but that wasn't; possible
The menu looked appealing. In the past a shared appetizer has been split in the kitchen. This time we were told the kitchen would not do this. The monkfish was not served in a whole piece but rather was sliced and cooked and placed on a bed of beans. The food was so hot it must have been reheated in a microwave. The beans were in a sauce called tomato but was of a muddy brown color and tasted mostly of salt. The special baked apple dessert was a disappointment. a rather small, dried out apple with some nice ice and a bit of crushed almond. Certainly not worth the $14.00 but would have been unappealing at any price.
Excellent food and service. We took a long time over lunch and never felt rushed.
I had a real issue with terrible sun glare. They could do nothing and did not offer to move me to a new table even when one was available . Waitress also neglected to bring part of our order.
A bit of Paris in New York. Masterfully prepared cuisine and a tempting array of wines, cocktails, and aperitifs. The beef melts on the mouth, the salmon is sublime, the oysters are plump, and the Negronis aren't too sweet. Orsay is everything you could want in a restaurant. Highly recommend for a lively night out and a great place for group celebrations. The ambiance is old world and chic.
Service is excellent. Excellent neighborhood restaurant. Will be back
The special of the day was roast beef. They were sold out by 730
Always relaxed and great food and ambiance
I am a regular! Never disappoints
Wonderful French bistro - one of my favorites
Holiday brunch! Perfect space and a round table for ten! Perfection!!
New year celebration
We love Orsay. With children in tow their expert staff and management made everyone happy.
There’s very attentive service with a continental flair at Orsay. And the food is fine. This is always a great place to go for festive occasions (like the holidays).
Our Brunch at the Orsay was very very enjoyable. Service was great and our server was very attentive and helpful. Me and my cousin met outside it was easy to get to and we went inside together. Crowded and lively but we had our space. Fresh water and coffee was brought right away and breakfast rolls were offered. We had the Norwegian Salmon & Eggs - so nice with a Hollandaise sauce on top and cooked perfect! A side salad w a light vinaigrette and baked potato cubes were part of the course. We shared the Apple Tart and forks and large spoons were brought out - very fancy and nice. We had a 5 minute walk to the famous Frick Collection and were primed for the French Rococo rooms. I say - the Orsay is the place to go for your french fare.
Great bread basket and wonderful desserts that’s it
Christmas Dinner with friends
Yet another restaurant that we "used" to go to but haven't been back in some time. Had the occasion of a business meal there a short while ago and decided to have a family event there. The ambience has not really changed and one you get over the size - it is big - you can settle into the fact there you are using a small part of a larger restaurant. The service is attentive without being annoying - and while you can pick out the "regulars" based on how they are greeted and handled we did not feel neglected. The food is a cut above standard bistro fare and the variety well presented and prepared. The wine list is good although it take a bit of getting used to (don't want to confuse the 2 digit years with the bottle number - duh!). All in all we will be back
Love the food!!!
Orsay has that French flair. The ambiance is comfortably sophisticated. We sat in the enclosed veranda, so the noise level was fine. The food is quite good and for brunch try the bread basket (with luscious pastries) to accompany your main course. The service is attentive. It’s a great spot on the upper Eastside!
Nice neighborhood place. Food is always good.
We usually have a perfect meal at Orsay but they were off their game and the fish came out dry and the Halibut was undercooked. When they fell short and took another half hour to rectify, we thought they would do something to make up for this but when the bill came they over charged us and put an extra glass of wine on the bill instead of sending over either a round of drinks or dessert. We were not impressed
Food was ok. Staff super friendly and accommodating, fun and festive atmosphere, great for a group celebrating a special occasion...except for ok food. Not even the bread was noteworthy. Highlights were the onion soup and vegetarian tangine.
I’m sorry about the food because the staff work hard and are great!
Very good! Good food, excellent staff, the restaurant is very charming!
We had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner at Orsay. When I inquired about replacing the potatoes with more vegetables on the traditional turkey dinner I was told there would be no substitutions. So, I chose the roasted salmon. It was absolutely delicious with an interesting vegetable preparation and very tasty sauce. My husband had the steak and potatoes. To start we shared the always rich and wonderful French onion soup. For dessert, an apple tart with cinnamon ice cream and nice strong coffee with warmed milk. It was a very pleasant evening but I wish they had been more flexible about the potatoes on the turkey dinner.
We will definitely dine at Orsay again! The food is delicious, the ambience and decor French and the service is amazing. We celebrated Thanksgiving at Orsay and in spite of our large party and a full restaurant, everything was cooked to perfection, served hot. I highly recommend Orsay.
The food was plentiful and delicious and the service genteel. Even for a Thanksgiving prix fixe, we were treated as graciously as any other busy night.
Considering we were there on Thanksgiving, the staff was very well-organized and attentive and the food was delicious.
Slow service, fish entrees just fair
Excellent French Cuisine, but where are the mussels and frites?
