The Burrata appetizer was amazing! Large meals! Would be great to share between two.
Go for the food, but wear NASCAR ear plugs or better if dining inside. Really. The food is amazing and this restaurant is tops in Italian in the Burg. But there is zero ambience. The inadequacy of the sound dampening in the small spaces indoors makes you want to run away before your food has ever arrived. Two in our party turned their hearing aids down, finally took them out and were still miserable. Forget having a conversation at your table unless you can read lips. For God’s sake don’t add to the din by screaming at each other, as everyone around us seemed to be doing. This is an antique property, and noise remediation is difficult, but sadly until they fix the problem we will not go back unless the weather is mild and we can eat outside. Please go for the excellent food especially if you can order take-out and eat in the peace of your own home. You have been warned. I have never done a negative review for an Opentable restaurant before. Makes me sad to do so now.
Second visit and it was just a great as the first! Not only was the food delicious, but the owner and staff went out of their way to ensure that our experience was flawless, especially when it started to rain and we had to move inside!
A truly authentic Italian dining experience. Lasgna was superb, Rockfish was memorable, and house red wine was most commendable. Waiter was excellent and very attentive. Our first time there but we will definitely be back. 2 thumbs-up!
Consistently offering of authentic, slow food from different regions of Italy as well as standard Italian fare. Generous servings provided by friendly, efficient waiters. Intimate setting in Old Town Fxbg. What's not to love?
We thoroughly enjoyed our first dining experience at Orofino! Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and wines, polite, attentive without being overbearing, and very professional. We enjoyed our appetizers, salad, and entrees very much. The cannoli trio was delicious as well and the lemon gelato. We are already looking forward to going back to try the pizza! The only minor complaint is that we were hardly halfway through our appetizers when the entrees come out.
First, let me say that my wife and I love coming here, and we will come again. That being said, this was an anniversary dinner. I asked to not be sat next to the door (a bit noisome and hectic).
Well, we were sat right next to the door. We were sat and given menus, and at least 4 servers walked past us a number of times. I was hoping someone would at least tell us they would “be with us in s minute.” All we got was one server who walked passed us and muttered a “hmph” our way when he noticed us. We waited over 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us (or at least to give us water) before we decided to leave.
Again, we will be back, but we just thought this type of experience is a chance for an opportunity to teach better waiting skills.
Our go to restaurant when our son visits.
Made us wait for a table when there were plenty of tables available.
And they didn’t cut my pizza
Attentive service. Varied menu that accommodates vegetarians well. Loved the gnocchi with red sauce. Portions are huge (2 meal size). Ambiance is a little lacking but warmth of staff makes up for it. Good place for a business lunch given spacing of tables.
Our waiter was absolutely charming and everything was delicious and beautifully presented. You just cannot go wrong here! It is a little loud but with everything else being superior, I can get past that.
Love the menu layout! Each menu item corresponds with a region in Italy and I could take my own culinary tour without leaving Fredericksburg. Staff was very friendly and the food was delicious! Love it :)
The addition of the pizza oven has made a great place even better.
Everything was exceptional. Great food. Awesome staff. We will be back
Pasta was excellent. Enjoyed ceasar salad.
We had reservations yet had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. Once seated, the waiter gave us our menus and then forgot us. When we called him over he apologized and then forgot to bring drinks for one person and was very slow in responding. He also forgot to check on us regularly. He was nice but it seems he was forgetful. The food was good overall. We will consider coming back but if we experience this type of service again, we will go elsewhere the following time.
I had lunch at Orfino's during restaurant week. As usual, the food I selected was excellent. The portions were substantial and the service was excellent. The folks at Orfino's treat restaurant week as an opportunity to showcase their menu and establishment to the public. I would say that they were successful.
enjoyed the dining experience very much. Food and service were outstanding. High quality and value.
This is a favorite and we will return again.
Love this restaurant. Pizza is awesome. Owners are wonderful. We plan to come more often, not just on special occasions.
Awesome food. Friendly prompt service
Great food and service
Typically excellent food and service. This time we had a larger party next to us and they talked to each other so loudly we could hardly converse at our table. Disappointing
Pizza was excellent.
My DP enjoyed her lunch; she's a big fan of your meatballs. My Margarita pizza missed the mark; wet in the center and arrived bit cold.
Dining area had paint smell; probably due to the recent renovations at the restaurant.
Overall a ok experience.
Amazing restaurant, food and staff are incredible.
Great service. Eggplant parmigiana is the best.
New pizza oven is a hit. The pizzas were awesome.
Luka, our waiter was wonderful. The food was delicious. We ordered pizza and it was as good as the pizza we would have while living in Italy. They also had my favorite ice cream, straciatella.
Fabulous restaurant. So authentic southern Italian . I will pass the word.
We had reservations and were seated promptly. We noticed their newly installed wood-fired pizza oven and plan to come back to try it! For tonight we went with classic veal preparations. I ordered the Saltimbocca alla Romana and my wife got Veal Piccata (or something similar). Our server was outstanding. Our food was excellent. For dessert we had a cookie crust tart with sweet ricotta and blackberry preserves. It was outstanding. We've been here several times and plan to come back!
Great food and great service
As always, the food and service was impeccable!
The food was amazing!! Service was great! But, if you are looking for a quiet romantic dinner.. this is not the place. Very noisy and we hard a hard time concentrating on our own conversation from the noise level as well as the door slamming every 10 seconds. I would think about service coming in a different way instead of through the door where people are seated.
This was our first time visiting. They were accommodating from the start. We asked for a table where we could have conversation with our friends and it was a good location. Our waiter was very good and attentive. We had the stuffed ravioli special, the veal special and the rockfish. Everything was outstanding and cooked perfectly. We ordered a bottle of wine which they were out of so they substituted another kind. It really wasn’t that great, but not a big deal. I tried a glass of their sangria and it was very good as well. We will definitely come back for a visit when we are in Fredericksburg.
Great atmosphere....food is out of this world every time I have eaten at Orofino’s! Wonderful friendly service! One of the best restaurants in the area!
Food was great!!!!
My husband and I went to Orofino for our anniversary the other night and we had a great experience. The server was great and very friendly! We loved our food too! We will definitely be coming back soon to try some of the other menu items.
We enjoyed celebrating a boss retirement luncheon with you....the food was delicious!
We haven’t had pizza this good since our last vacation in Italy! Thin, crispy, delicious crust, mouth-watering sauce, perfectly spiced. Delizioso!
