Exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly servers!
Duck config consisted of hardly any duck meat. Just a sausage and tiny piece of duck meat.
Awesome food and service
We were at the restaurant doing high tea on Saturday. It happened that there was a photoshoot in the restaurant. Felt that the staff paid more attention to the photoshoot than to the customers. Our pots ran out of hot water couple times however, the waitress didn't fill it up until we tell them. There's also two entrances to the restaurant. Since they blocked one off due to the photoshoot, they should either lock the door or put a sign out to let whoever is coming into restaurant know for safety reasons. As for the food, the presentation was very nice. I just wish they have more savoury options. When it's time to get the bill, none of the staff was paying attention to us and we had to wait for at least 15 minutes before someone finally notice us.
Overall experience was just average. The food was good but need more surprising elements to keep it memorable.
Food was good and seasoned well. The beef tartare had good flavors and pork chop was cooked perfectly. I wasn't too impressed being seated next to a table of two when the restaurant was pretty much empty. The tables were so close to each other I couldn't help but hear all the conversations. I understand if it was busy or we had the same servers so it would be more convenient in the same section but neither of these were the case. I don't understand why out of all the tables in the restaurant the host sat us a feet from another table. She also asked us out of nowhere if we wanted to look at dessert menu when we haven't even received the entree. I just feel somewhat of a disconnect between the food that they serve, atmosphere and customer service.
Decided to go here for my birthday with the great reviews and comments on the nice touches they did for people's birthdays. I went around 2:00pm on a Saturday, the place was completely empty. The food was decent, booked a table through table and even said it was for my birthday but there were no special touches. One of the servers later stood by the door at the stand and constantly glared over at us...which made us uneasy and pretty much also ruined the experience. I wouldn't recommend coming here for high tea.
The steak is average.
Had a lovely experience dining at Origo. Both servers were attentive during our dining. Food was delicious.
Appreciated the special birthday celebration touches
Really good food, outstanding service. Probably the place to go in Richmond after the night market!
Food is awesome, service is perfect!
This is my second lunch visit to Origo and the food was just as delicious as last time. The waitress was very helpful in providing suggestions for my friend who ended up with the chicken strip and was moist and the oh my the creamy mustard sauce was en pointe. This time I had the mussels and clams which had a nice kick to it and as provided by other reviewers it could have used a couple of slices of bread to soak up the sauce. Although the fries are still good, the previous time was better because they were not cut as thick. The waitress said she would provide the feedback to the chef. Also they changed the placemats which is not for the better because the edges tend to snag fine knit clothing which it did snag my sleeve unless you kept your arm off the table... its in the details...Would have earned 5 stars otherwise. And definitely would come again to try the rest of the menu.
We just loved the Pork Chops! Five stars establishment!
Always an amazing customer service experience at Origo! Their afternoon tea sets are always spectacular, but I still love their dinner most!
Probably the most delicate French cuisine you can find in Richmond!
Great food and ambience. Loved the attention to detail and flavours. Better scones than Mason and Fortum in London, UK!
Great food and awesome service ~
You must try their pour over coffees. Definitely the best in Richmond. I also notice they have the ice drip coffee which I'm a hugh fan.
bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad service!!!
I was very pleased to discover a new restaurant in Richmond and it being French cuisine.
The food was excellent and I would definitely recommend it and will be visiting again.
Great atmosphere and design, attentive service, the desserts are really well executed and the tea is high quality.
Hidden gem in Richmond. French food done perfectly and excellent service. Staff were amazing and knowledgeable. Fine dining but not stuffy. Nice atmosphere. Food on the rich side but very tasty. Highly recommend!
Excellent service and quality food! Must try the pour over coffee.
Good food and a pretty good deal for Mother’s Day!
Everything was good except for the dessert!
Beautiful dining room with an exquisite event space. Came from Toronto to visit my folks and took them for a lunch. What a hidden gem it was. Born and grew up in Richmond but never expect something so European and elegent in the neighbourhood. I willl be back next time to try the dinner. Their wine selection oh boy, is the best in Vancouver if not in Western Canada.
Very nice restaurant and the best service we had lately. The food are light and tasty. The duck and the sablefish are both excellent choices for us. The Brussels spouse were the best appetizer. Escargot were only so so. If you want to get together with friends and have wine and don’t want to have tons of calories, this place is awesome.
Food was good and delicious, service could be better. We waited almost half an hour until the waitress finally take our order. We ordered the afternoon tea set. Great selection of savory and sweets, but very limited tea choices.
At first we were excited to attend the afternoon tea, unfortunately for the price, I do not think the afternoon tea is worth it, especially for anyone with a dietary restriction. They do not currently have a vegetarian menu option, but they said they could still accommodate us. Unfortunately this meant removing all the savory non-vegetarian options, without replacing them (ie we receive less than half the menu items, but paid full price). We did get a selection of desserts and fruits, both of which, quality wise were good, but again for the price were extremely underwhelming.
Staff were super helpful...especially when my gps misdirected me...I was talked right into the parking lot. Server(s) were friendly, knowledgeable and discreet. Food was exquisite.
If you’re looking for an expensive place to impress you’re date, than this is the place for you.
Service was good but was thrown off by some racial comments made by the male waiter.
Small venue , didn’t feel like a restaurant more of a cafe (if that’s what you’re looking for)
No parking from what we seen and took advice to cab it there. Not busy at all on a Friday night only maybe 3-4 couples eating so it got so quiet at one point that you could hear a pin drop. It did get noisier once a private room group entered and that’s all you could hear. I hear they have a good tea time event , might try that next time but will not return for dinner.
2 people , bottle of wine and a couple of meals with tip $250.00
We didn’t realize they charge cake fee for 3 person at $5 per person which as a bit disappointing but overall it was v. Good
Quality of food is good but service still has rooms to improve.
Very good food and excellent service. I will be back for more!
In summary, poor service impacted the overall experience at the Origo Club.
1. Luke warm drip coffee: please check the temperature before serving it to a guest.
2. Servers have absolutely no knowledge about teas and coffee that they offer to guests: their first responses: “I don’t drink coffee/teas.” I didn’t ask whether they drink them or not. I asked about what are the ingredients in a tea. What kind of notes I’m expecting from the coffee that I’ll pay $13. Going back and forth with no helpful information.
3. No explanation of food: you would think someone will explain what I’m putting in my mouth. No. There were missing macarons and other ingredients. Didn’t bother to tell them.
Overall, one of my worst afternoon tea services that I have been. If you only care about Instagram pictures and looks of the establishment, you will fit right in. This could be a place with potential but unfortunately, need to work on a lot of issues. I left with embarrassment after hosting a friend reunion. Such a shame.
My boyfriend and I had a fantastic time with their afternoon tea menu. Very elegant and tasty experience.
Amazing food and service!
Wow. The food as was amazing ! The decor was very nice and excellent service. Did not expect this gem to be in Richmond. Feels like a place that one can only find in downtown.
Love the new lunch menu. Great for business lunch. Pourover coffee is their specialty
The desserts were amazing. I enjoyed the tea aswell as cakes very much
