Original Joes never disappoints! Great food, great drinks, great service!
My friends and I enjoyed a leisurely lunch with friendly service.
The food including wine and dessert was outstanding.
My friends and I always can count on having a great dining experience at Original Joe’s.
Food was amazing as always! Chicken parmigiana and the carbonara, so good. Service polite and prompt.
Excellent food choices and drinks were great. Love the ambiance and decor. I definitely will come back
Very satisfying meal and attentive service. Loved the mussels, meatball and the red sauce was delicious. We sat in a comfortable booth in the back and while the restaurant is noisy it wasn’t a problem. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of all the food. My son had the veal Parmesan, his girlfriend the sole, my husband had the swordfish special and I had the Chicken cacciatore, all dishes were very solid. Like most restaurants, it wasn’t cheap, four entrees, two appetizers and 5 drinks for $350. Unlike most places in SF the food and service were worth it and we will be back.
The host was extremely rude that the birthday lunch began on a very sour note. It was so horrible dealing with this young preppy inappropriate man (well more like a boy) that I actually had to say something to management because of him.
My husband and I were visiting from Philadelphia and were in search for a great steakhouse and although the menu featured many Italian dishes, we decided to be flexible. Our meal was awesome! The sourdough bread is fresh and delicious, our appetizers were tasty and our entrees were prepared and presented with perfection. It’s too bad we’re almost 3000 miles away from this North Beach gem! Would definitely recommend to locals and tourists!
We had early (6PM) theater nearby, so we dined at Joe's at 4PM. Although Joe's was quiet at that hour, the service was great and the food fantastic. And because of the early hour, we decided to share both a starter (Caesar salad) and entree (veal piccata), both of which were excellent and plated separately. Highly recommend.
The food was mediocre but the service was superb!!
April 14, 2018... always fun to gather & dine w/old friends! Great food, special table#211, and always lively!
Great experience sitting at the counter next to the kitchen! The staff was very friendly!
Just what we expected and more...and walking into a full restaurant and right to our table was a great surprise.
Food and service were top notch.
Everything was good, but the waitress was extra specially wonderful!
Was not impressed with price given the unprofessional waiter and average tasting food.
OJ is one of favorite restaurants as we have dinner there about once a month for the past two years. The food and service is usually excellent. Decided to give Sunday Brunch a try last weekend. We were seated promptly and the server took our order in reasonable amount of time. However from the time we ordered it took over 45 minutes to receive our food. My wife ordered the hamburger medium rare and it arrived well done. It took us over 10 minutes to flagged down our server to request an refire on the burger. Waited another 30 minutes and told the server to pack the burger to go as everyone had already finished their meal. 10 minutes later he brings the burger and my wife opens the take out box to check and to her amazement the burger is even more well done then the first burger . I know it's not the server's fault but he could have been a little apologetic but nothing. On top of that my daughter's French toast was burnt on one side of course they plated the burnt side face down. She was so hungry and decided not to reorder. Oh well I guess we won't be having Sunday Brunch at OJ in the future.
Great food. Great service. Can’t wait to come back. Next time we are in San Francisco 🤓
Food was terrific - lamb chops and filet, mussels appetizer. We were able to get a round booth, which was fun and romantic.
The meatballs were unbelievable. Lasagna had great flavor. Fish special was delicious; the fish was cooked perfectly. Gnocchi was great. Large shrimp cocktail snapped with freshness, so good. Our server also did a great job.
The bar area was terribly noisy-fortunately we were seated in the other room but walked through the bar to the restrooms. I would not have been happy to have been seated in there!
Always good to go back to Original Joe's; and they don't disappoint. Classic; fast, high quality.
Our party of four was running late for our reservation time due to street blockage in the neighborhood.I called the Restaurant to inform them of this fact & truly appreciate the response I got, which was that they would see us soon!
The dining experience was great. We were seated & attended to quickly with beverage orders taken & Bread & Butter & water provided.Everyone had all their needs mt & were overjoyed with their orders. The food was excellently prepared & delicious. Our Waitperson was efficient & we all felt well taken care of. We will return!
Jan the Manager working on Easter Sunday was Great! Hope to see you again!
Everything was perfect. But a huge THANK YOU for using paper straws. It is heart warming to find a restaurant that cares! Every little step helps our City and our oceans!!
Amazingly good brunch although the menu has a bit of a limited selection. Good thing is the lunch menu is available to order from during brunch as well.
Always great food and service!
Service was unusually poor - not one of the “old timers”
I had the sole piccata and it was very good. My husband had the chicken marsala and he was not as happy, but it was ok. He should have had it with mashed potatoes and then he would have been in heaven! The portions were large for San Francisco. I wish I had a fridge in hotel room to save the extra sole. Oh well.
We are regularly go to Joes of Westlake. We seldom visit the San Francisco restaurant, but have. this particular visit we noticed the decrease in food volumn and increase of price. We order Chicken Marsala - very good, BUT the three pieces of small chicken was a bit to skimpy. We expected more for the $26.95 price. Parking was $20.00, so in our book this was a very pricey meal for not much.
Always great! Fantastic neighborhood spot, wonderful staff.
The best in all aspects-always a great meal, exceptional service and ambiance, my favorite place to eat in the City.
Classic fun place
100% would dine again. Every aspect of the meal was perfect.
Delicious food and a great atmosphere!
Good food, great ambiance. Loved this restaurant. Would go again every time I'm in San Francisco.
Amazing service and food. I was worried it was going to touristy and bad food. It was so great. And, even though you're in an italian restaurant, get the artichoke dip -- WOW!!!!
GO HUNGRY AND ORDER DESERT!!!
Joe's was amazing. The food, service, ambiance. It was all very memorable. A great last night in San Francisco. P.S. The chicken parm was the best I've ever eaten.
The staff at the OJ in North Beach is amazing! They were very attentive, food was promptly brought out and delicious, the manager even offered to refresh a cocktail that he noticed wasn't touched.
Outstanding service from start to finish!
