We think Orfeo is a hidden gem. Food is consistently creative, high quality and delicious and we have always had delightful wait staff who provide great service. And the prices are decent for Seattle.
Monday evening was a fairly quiet night at the restaurant- and perfect for good conversation. The food, as always, was fresh and delicious, and the waiter was attentive and friendly without being imposing.
I didn’t like they way they prepared NY strip steak and some drunk guy at another table insisted I worked there and demanded I bring their food hehehe. Crazy one off holiday night review.
I have eaten here thee other times and it’s good. Won’t order a steak again there tho.
For valentines day, the wait was crazy long after having a reservation, the service continued to be non-existent (clearly under-staffed). Drinks took forever, food was incredibly bland - was really sad given our love of this place (dating/wedding reception/etc).
On top of that, the 20% service charge applied was so undeserved for how the business conducted themselves that night.
Date night, hoped for a nice dining experience but just couldn’t get waited on well enough to order second rounds of drinks or ask questions or make requests. Food was competently prepared, though not amazing. If the service and ambiance were commensurate to the price, any imperfections with the food could have been overlooked; but they were not and the food wasn’t good enough to save the experience. Automatic 20% tip was not deserved. We won’t be back.
Really good service and great food. A warm welcome, a good menu and great food.
My family loved your restaurant. We were celebrating my husband’s 73rd birthday. Food, ambiance, service terrific. Even our picky 12 year old granddaughter loved it. We will be back and thank you for the wonderful experience!!!!
Great food, great service and a great place. Out with friends before going to a concert. Orfeo was perfect. Will definitely be back.
One of our favorites! Between our party of 3, we've been to Orfeo over dozen times. The HH food is consistently delicious, and well made. The well drinks are always a generous pour each time. The cocktail menu is just excellently curated with a great selection. The mussels always taste fresh, I did enjoy the fire roasted method before they switch to pan seared version but both are equally great. We have tried all the HH pizza, but the Fungi is my favorites. The eggplant jenga is just a great option for vegetarian, paired with the mustard aioli is really tasty. The antipasto also has a great value, I am impressed by the selection and the freshness of the bread. The restaurant has a variety of seating options, and it has a great lighting in most areas. It was just the perfect noise level that we can carry on a conversation without shouting across the table. I highly recommend it's HH food and drinks for a high-end dining experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Orfeo. We were seated promptly in the lounge where the tables were a comfortable distance from each other. The server was very attentive and helpful with the cocktail and dinner menus. We had ample time to appreciate our beverages before we were asked for our meal order which was much appreciated. Our food was well prepared -- New Yorker pizza for one and fettuccini al Bolognese for me. Lastly, Orfeo is one of the few restaurants in Seattle where it is possible to carry on a conversation without shouting. I highly recommend Orfeo.
Excellent service and the Food was outstanding. Never rushed and even let us sit at the bar for a nightcap even though they were closing.
Was disappointed at lack of veggie sides, but food we got was excellent as was the service. It was noisy on the first floor with lots of activity at the bar, but our group was seated upstairs and it was quiet enough to converse without shouting.
Had to wait for a while to be seated, even when I arrived on time for my reservation. Waitress seem stressed and did not greet us. Must be short staff and lack of training. Food was ok.
Plain and simple. Over 50 mins to get water, servers don’t care when they get automatic 20%. Food was decent
Booked Orfeo for NYE as we’ve not been. From the start the service was great - super friendly staff. The food was amazing. The menu provided a good mix for all dietary needs. We will definitely be back!
Outstanding food and service. Glad to have found this neighborhood gem. We were a party of 4 and all loved our starters and entrees. Recommend the wood fire cooked mussels as a must. Ample portions and nicely presented.
Restaurant is very nice, we liked the ambiance and service was awesome! Food however was disappointing for the price we paid.
Awful. Terrible food and ambiance. Pasta tasted like chalk.
Great food, lovely ambiance, and fantastic service.
Chris, the manager, was great. The rest was average.
Great food. The service was excellent. Good value for money.
The food was really good. Other things that I didn't like were:
We requested a booth when we made are reservation through Open Table. When we arrived, the maitre'd told us the booths were all reserved. When we left an hour and a half later, there were still open booths. In the beginning of our meal, the server tried to rush us. In the end, we waited for 15 minutes to get our bill.
This place was very expensive and not worth it. I got a $45 prime rib and it was like rubber... the mashed potatoes were watery and the Brussel sprouts were super oily. Definitely not worth the money. The atmosphere was very nice and our waiter was outstanding but that doesn't cut it when the food is poor.
We had a wonderful thanksgiving dinner! Half of our party was delayed due to the ferry and nobody had an issue. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. Everything we ordered was delicious. We loved the prime rib, puttanesca, oysters, mussels, antipasto appetizer and bread appetizer. Great wine list, extensive cocktails and they had exactly the Old Stove beer I love and wanted! It was everything we could have hoped for on a non-traditional Thanksgiving. Thank you!!!
Our server Dominica was so helpful and super tentative. We loved all the dishes she recommended..we loved it all!
Great food and cheerful service but too loud for our party of six to hear from one end of the table to the other.
Food was wonderful and great presentation! The person who sat us was wonderful and created another 2 top table for us to sit at. Waiter was new and could not describe the food or recommend anything. Very slow and not attentive. I would still go back as the food was good but would not want the same server. I saw other servers that were smiling and engaging with customers so know they do have more experienced servers.
I asked the server for no garlic or to keep it to a minimum in my dish if it’s there at all, and I ended up with a dish that was quite garlicky :(
Delicious, creative, perfectly prepared dinner. Service was outstanding.
The food just wasn't as good as we'd hoped based on other reviews. The Gracie's pasta was just buttered noodles and tasteless. My steak was good and well prepared though.
Visiting our kids in Seattle and celebrating our wedding anniversary, we choice Orfeo from Trip Advisor. It was among the Top 10 in the area. We would place into the Top 5! Mussels were amazing, all of our dinners delish and perfectly portioned. Next time we back in Seattle we'll be there for sure.
Owner Kevin was tending the bar. Very friendly and welcoming.
Outstanding food and cocktails.
We had a great meal at Orfeo. We were seated upstairs and we explained to our server that we had tickets to Cinerama at 8:45 and were hoping to draw out dinner a bit. We started with a lovely salad and wine. When I couldn’t decide on which red I was given two generous tasting glasses. Both would have been perfect ! Not once did we feel rushed and we enjoyed our pizza and conversation right up until time for our movie. I’d highly recommend this restaurant for its cozy atmosphere, great pizza and attentive service.
Food was great, service was inattentive, our food came out very poorly timed and we never got asked about drink refills or how our food was. Passed on dessert and had to wait for the check. Wouldn’t come back for an anniversary or event, maybe for a casual dinner.
Had salad, pizza, and a cocktail for dinner. Plus desert. Pretty casual dining at a restaurant with a slightly more upmarket feel. Food was satisfactory. Pizza crust was the best part. Fast service.
Great service and amazing food!
Our servers Kyle, Danielle, and the host (didn’t catch her name) were all very attentive but not overbearing. We had hoped for fresh oysters but only saw char-grilled as an option on the menu; they specially prepared them fresh for us, and they were delicious. The pasta and tiramisu were both wonderful as well. Service was excellent, and it was just a lovely time. Thanks for helping make it special!
Have been here twice for dinner before attending events downtown. The quality of welcoming and service, speed of service, and quality of food have been perfect 10's both times. We have sampled many of the appetizers and different entrees: seafood, pasta, salads, soups, ... all great! The space is nice without being too high-brow. The lighting is also definitely well enough to not need a flashlight to read the menu. We feel very comfortable here and absolutely plan to return again!
