Loved, loved, loved!!! The food is excellent and our server was on point. Cozy atmosphere. Great restaurant!
We were urged away from the pasta, which is too bad, as it may have made for a better experience. Drinks were good, wine list is thin, Caesar was imaginative and good and potato side terrific. But monkfish was dry and timing over all was off.
With reservations, we were given table by the bar section and it was loud. Ribeye was good, cooked perfectly. Thought that clams in Linguine dish was either not fresh or slightly undercooked.
Ambience and decor are awesome! I felt the food was overrated from some of the reviews and hype recently.
6th time back and superb in every respect each time. Fabulous service, great creative food, and pleasant surroundings will return soon
Made a reservation and was unfortunately seated at a bar high top, not in the dining room. Wine service/sommelier was excellent; actual service inattentive. Food was good, but 2/4 dishes were lukewarm. Garlic bread and Parmesan mousse a must.
I think Orfano is my new favorite destination. Warm, delicious, stunning, phenomenal staff. I cannot wait to return.
Food came in under par for what we were expecting. Sommelier was excellent and the cocktails were great.
Orfano was fine. The food was on the pricier side (a single serving of garlic bread was $7). Portions were small so two dishes were recommended, which meant the bill was that much higher. If the food was outstanding, I could understand it, but it was all just fine, not something to crave or come back for. One of the apps we ordered, a parmesan mousse didn't come with bread or anything to dip with it (we asked for some bread and our server looked at us like we were weirdos for asking), so that was strange - were we just supposed to put our forks in it? The service was slow (food came out quickly, but it took forever to order in the first place, then took forever to clear our plates and bring us the check).
Excellent dinner and service. We will definitely be back
A new Boston favorite. Good food, great martinis, inviting atmosphere...with a noise level that allows conversation-a rarity these days.
Quiet, early dinner on a rainy Sunday evening. Our food was outstanding. I had the lobster bucatini and my wife had the swordfish. We'd each order them again. Handsome room, professional staff. Faison is a celebrity chef for good reason.
Incredible food and service! All the staff was extremely friendly and helpful from explaining the menu setup, to offering recommendations, to being perfectly attentive. Definitely recommend!
This is our first time at the game chefs restaurant. The food was ok. Nothing to brag about. Pasta was cold and we had return it twice to get it wanes. Veal chop also came out cold. It’s quite expensive for average Italian restaurant. Better choices are available in the city.
Just another wonderful experience at a great neighborhood restaurant in the Fenway. From the moment you walk into the door till you leave you are treated incredibly… Not to mention how wonderful the food is!
Great food, great location. The pasta dishes are really amazing. Go!
food was honestly OK- the duck was not rendered at all. our servers were so amazing and sweet but the food was just not great. even the garlic bread was burnt on both sides and the coppa cold.
We were a party of 8 on a busy Saturday night. We had to wait a bit for the table to open up but the manager explained right when we got there; then treated us to a bottle of prosecco, which was a nice token. We had a leisurely dinner at a great table but our server tended to disappear. I had a good view of the rest of the dining area and it seemed like he had a lot of tables, many of which had VIPs as Chef Tiffany came to talk to them, as well as the manager and sommelier. Food was outstanding, wine was excellent and the whole party had a great time—hard to do with a larger party. Overall 4star rating and I would go back!
Weak food. Another mediocre fiason joint.
FANTASTIC.... everything! David our waiter was as fantastic too! Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Amazing... Best pasta I’ve had in months.
Small portions and over priced. Doesn’t respect younger groups. Food was great though.
Service was extremely slow for a late dinner (9 Pm seating on a Thurs). Great ambiance and vibe, the place is definitely alive and fun for drinks with friends. Portions were tiny and the food was not as described on the menu. Small plates sizes for the price of a main course. Waiter was also rude but then hit on one of us, but that’s not a knock on the restaurant itself. Overall 3 stars, I’d go back down the line when the restaurant gets in a better grove.
Really delicious, great ambience, but very small drinks for such high prices (though they were also delicious). Would recommend having a glass of wine or cocktail before you come
This combo traditional steakhouse and high-end Italian place was a strange effort by Tiffany Faison and not an obvious plus for the Fenway. Start with the comically odd touches: the four-foot-high pepper grinder that released exactly zero flakes of pepper when called into service; the halloween-costume-like black t-shirts on the busboys featuring a weird imprint of a tuxedo; the impossibly un-reader-friendly menu with the bad font; the utterly undressed and unappealing side salad consisting of nothing but lettuce leaves; the undercooked pale and mostly unseasoned potatoes that accompanied our steak; the fact that when we ordered a second bottle of the same wine, this newly established restaurant was out of it, which was blamed on its being a Sunday, when distributors don't come (plan ahead?); radically different shaped wine glasses (why?) for another nebbiolo of similar price point substituted for the first; the "special" ribolla gialla white wine, which the service said he had taken notes on because he was so excited about it and then read his notes: "crisp, Italian white;" the overly attentive surface-cleaning operation that insisted on interrupting the guests' conversation to retrieve a stray knife that had not earlier been cleared.
All that aside, the serving staff was generally efficient (almost to a fault) and attentive. The pastas were excellent and well-cooked. The meat arrived a little luke warm, but the center was cooked as ordered. The wine list was obviously heavily Italian, skewing Piedmont, but with opportunities at a range of price points. What I craved but missed was something to distinguish this spot from, say, Mortons. Or Grill 23.
Excellent all around! I am adding Orfano to one of my top picks for Boston restaurants.
Fabulous food, delicious drinks, great vibe, love the eggplant velvet booths! Perfect for a special occasion, or making a regular day feel special.
We had looked forward to eating at Orfano. We were very disappointed. We made our reservations several months ago for Saturday night. And when we got there, we were seated at the back end of the restaurant in one of the four terrible tables for two. The waiter served our sparkling wine in a burgundy wine glass. That was a symptom of what was to come. The tuna martini consisted of five overly thick slices of tuna with a single slice of an olive. The plate was almost frozen as was the tuna. Tasteless appetizer. The lobster bucatini was tasty, but was served lukewarm. The chicken and monkfish entrees were just ok- nothing special. We love Faison’ s other restaurants, but this just wasn’t worth it.
This was our first time at Orfano (there has been much hype surrounding it). They start you off with breadsticks for the table but they give you the same number of breadsticks that there are people dining at your table. They were dry and kind of a pathetic welcome to the restaurant. For apps we got the meatballs they were delicious, the fried calamari but there was practically no calamari the majority of the dish was fried onions and lastly the calms casino but wow they were salty. Our entrees were delicious. We would go back but I think we would axe the apps they were highly disappointing.
Phenomenal place !!
Fantastic meal and service. Food was outstanding
Our waiter was friendly; he explained the menu and answered any questions we had. The drinks came with garnish, the presentation of a table-side pour and tasted great.
Everything we ordered was delicious. The Caesar salad is like none you have seen before and was amazing. The generous shaved cheese on top has the salad coming out in a bowl looking like a giant white ball. The avocado at the bottom of the salad makes it even more special.
The pasta and entrees continued to be a delight and satisfy.
A wonderful dinner experience we are still talking about.
Getting there, but still needs more time
It took forever to get our drinks. Food was really tasty but expensive for the amount of food. Server was nice, professional. But pacing of food was off. It was a little crowded on a Thursday night , but it seemed they couldn’t handle preparing the quantity of food and drinks they needed to keep things moving.
Tiffani keeps the hits coming. We love Tiger Mama and Fool's Errand so had to give Orfano a try. Gorgeous dining room, wonderful waitstaff, and original food items. The Parmesan Mousse is an ethereal, melt in your mouth experience - great start to your meal. The garlic bread is $7, but ours was over toasted, almost burned. The lobster gnocchi was AMAZING.
Perfectly curated wines to choose from, and stellar desserts to round out the meal. We will be back!
We asked for still water ( bottle) they said they only have tap or sparkling ! Really, for what we paid in such a restaurant you dont have still. I was very disappointed
Excellent food. The bar manager explained the Martini alla Cart as he made it, which was by far the best martini I've ever had. Service from everyone was excellent, especially our server Kenny. Very inventive cocktails. We'll be back.
We had been waiting to find a time to have dinner at this new neighborhood restaurant. The space is beautiful .... downright elegant. The bar scene is lively and the waitstaff is totally great. We liked most of what we ordered. We thought it was strange to charge $7 for a loaf of bread and the cocktails (while really good) are rather expensive and a bit on the skimpy side, at that. The wine list is impressive. The food was, in general, just a bit too salty but lots of great flavor. The shrimp cocktail was probably the best I have ever had (no kidding). Loved it. My pasta dish was delicious but the portion was small. I hope they will get some of these issues resolved because the place is great and could be even better with a few tweaks. Great addition to a neighborhood with FAR too many glorified "fast food" places. Nice to have an upscale place with waitstaff and attention to detail.
Great. Service was weak. Food forgot, cold coffee, ...
Tiffani does it again—truly awesome anniversary dinner. The dry aged steak is well worth it, as are the martinis. Pasta plates are small but our amazing serving let us know that beforehand,
