This is one of the best restaurants in Boston. The steaks are fantastic and the lobster bucatini amazing. Service is super nice - we love Philip! The warm mozzarella is heavenly. Top it off with great wines and superb cocktails and you will have a wonderful evening.
This restaurant is fabulous! The food was outstanding, the service impeccable and the entire experience of dining there was perfect.
Lovely evening. Sommelier was quite helpful.
This is my third visit and it was just as great each time. We were there celebrating a birthday and tried different dishes this time, which was hard because everything has been terrific. Not only was the food excellent but our waiter, David, was amazing. He gave great descriptions of the dishes and helped with wine pairings, just spot on! Thank you David. The key is the full experience at this restaurant, we prefer the high top booths in the lounge area which give prime viewing of the bar. Go and enjoy, just do not take my favorite table as we will be back! Thank you for another great night.
The restaurant is cool, modern/classic and fun all at the same time. Service and food were AMAZING!
Make sure you try the homemade limoncello for dessert. It was the best I have had a fun story being it.
Will be back!
Loved the atmosphere...wait staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and food was delicious. A little noisy but not bad. Decor is very warm and welcoming and booths are far enough apart that you can have a conversation. Bar looked great as well but didn’t sit there. Highly recommend!
Delicious, creative, memorable food; fabulous and friendly service; a warm, lively and elegant space.
This was our second dinner at Orfano and it has been disappointing. The menu is fantastic, but even with several days notice, it was not possible to make any alterations for an allergy, and so the only options were steak. It seemed surprising that no pasta, fish, chicken or vegetable could be prepared plain, if need be.
consistently awesome dining experience. Great service, great meal
Good eats and great drinks! Wished our server was a bit more attentive (we waited a while to get the bill, and never saw a wine list when we asked for one). The fried calamari could have had more... calamari (it was mostly veg). Enjoyed the pasta dishes very much!
We had a mediocre experience with the food. The food was OK but not much more than that. There is no creativity not an attempt to provide an elevated dining experience. The pasta was OK but nothing that you can not get in any other Italian restaurant in the city. The sward fish came with minimal side dish that forces you to buy some additional sides that are nothing special.
First off, the service was great. The food was ok, but the quality was not in line with the prices. The garlic bread was excellent. The Cacio e Pepe didn't have much pepper flavor. The Parmesan Mousse was VERY salty. The lobster in the Lobster Bucatini was a bit on the chewy side. The Winter Sundae was good and interesting, but nothing special.
Disappointed on first time dining there
Calamari was basically onion rings not calamari
Garlic bread cold. Tasteless
Server unsure of wine list.
Entree was good but didn’t make up for entire experience
Very disappointed bc I had heard great things
Won’t be going back
Orfano offers a variety of dishes that are well-executed but nothing about our trip really wowed us from a food or service perspective given the crowded space of Italian eateries in Boston. However, upon receiving the check you realize that the value proposition Orfano offers is significantly above the majority of other Italian eateries and urges you to come back and experience more of their menu at a discount compared to the other pricey (or overpriced) locations throughout the city.
Get the lobster bucatini and thank me later ;)
Unfortunately the seating set the stage for a disappointing night. We were at table for two at the end of the restaurant. These tables are so close together it’s basically embarrassing to try to sit down. One couple next to us literally had to pull the table back over a foot to go to the restroom. The next couple instead simply asked to move and I wish we did too. Couldn’t have a private conversation to save your life and pretty sure I almost knocked over the neighboring table’s wine glass trying to sit down. Even the servers seems to struggle to serve those sitting on the banquet. Additionally, these seats are directly across from the emergency exit (significant draft) and two sever stations. If the food had been amazing, I could have forgiven the rest but it was just ok. I was excited to try the parmigiana mousse. It was good but I assumed it was a spread that was served with some bread. No. Ate it like it was pudding. Server never suggested something like the garlic bread to accompany it. Demand a table or a booth if you plan on visiting.
Place was fire. All day kehddd. Get the cacio e Pepe .
James Beard Award-worthy service, Hospitality, food, and quirky sophisticated decor
The lobster pasta dish was luke warm and just ok. Very pretentious indeed. Good luck. Restaurant like this with ok dishes and very pretentious value during recessions will be facing difficult time. Remember Boston diners always look for good value and tasty food!
Outstanding in every aspect. Our food was exceptional. Who knew you could improve on a Caesar salad? I would highly recommend visiting Orfano.
Showed up for our reservation and they had overbooked and couldnt seat us. After waiting 15 minutes, I asked how much longer the wait would be and they said at least 15 more minutes, possibly 30. We couldn't wait that long so we left.
Wonderful experience. Food was great. Portion a little small for the price but it is worth it. Love the unassuming service and the location.
Bar area had a terrible odor of dishwater and portion sizes of pasta were very very small especially for the price . The tiramisu was terrible. I would not return.
Our reservation was to celebrate a family members birthday. We waited several weeks for the reservation.
The table was horrible, the chairs were too low for the booth. Frankly it, the booth, is in a spot where seating should not be. If there was any chance we could have been seated some place we would have asked. The restaurant was very busy. The beverage service was very slow. The drinks were great and delicious, the wines were lovely. The wine service was sloppy. The food was very good all around with one exception, the expensive prime rib was thin and underwhelming..... I can only think how amazing the experience would have been if the service, the table could have matched the food. We will not go back!
Excellent Flavors, but why spend $450 for 4 and be rushed? Not again!
Orfano was very pretty, nice vibe, tasty just not amazing amazing, they’re chocolate cake though was amazing amazing !!
Ordered fried Calamari and it came out with a majority of fried blooming onions which weren’t even in the description of the dish
Hard to find the calamari part
Caesar salad excellent
3 pasta dishes came out on the cold side
Very tasty but didn’t have time to complain while eating because of a showtime
After the meal when the waiter finally made it around to us we mentioned all
He of course said let me tell my manager and I expected him to at least come over but instead the waiter brought over some gelato
Overall for the price and Tiffany’s reputation we were expecting spectacular
So needless to say we left very disappointed and underwhelmed
Highly recommended for ambience and friendly service as well as some very tasty dishes.
Decor was cool. Good drinks. But...
Service was SUPER slow. Portions were pretty small and underwhelming (besides the lobster bucatini which was delicious). Prices were far too high.
Great Resturant !
We went for valentines dinner. They had a special menu but for the most part we ordered from their regular menu. Great service. Highly recommend the martini cart where you get a great oral history of the martini.
Top notch ribeye
High quality olive oil that they used. I want to know where they source it from.
Absolutely great addition to the Big Heart Hospitality portfolio! Extremely hospitable, as to be expected with a Faison restaurant. Cocktails before our reservation were exciting to watch and delicious. The atmosphere was busy but not overwhelming. We got Meatballs All Raia and a valentines day special for appetizers. The meatballs are a must get to start you off. We then split the Fusilli Alla Vodka and the Rigatoni Bolognese which were incredible and the 4 dishes were enough food for 2 people easily. The server was knowledgeable enough with the extensive wine options to assist us since we aren't exactly picky when it comes to grape juice, but he did offer to get their sommelier to come and explain the options which is a great touch. By pure coincidence, we ended up at both Sweet Cheeks and Fools Errand in the same weekend so I was able to tell a lot of the Big Heart Team about how good Orfano was. The only thing that is preventing us from going right back is the price tag, although well worth the bill, it isn't something to indulge in regularly. In the meantime, you'll catch us at Tiger Mama and Sweet Cheeks. We'll be looking forward to coming back and trying the macelleria menu!
Can I give more than 5 stars? This is my new favorite place. Loved the food, loved the drinks, loved the staff, loved the ambience - it was basically the most perfect meal I’ve had in a long time!!
Service is attentive and friendly, food is really outstanding, especially the house-made pasta.
A lovely addition to the Fenway neighborhood.
If I could split my star vote, it would be cocktails 5, food 3.5. I would go back again just for the Martini Cart experience. The food was ok - we had the meatballs and clams as apps and they were nice. We did the duck - which was good Except for the herbed potatoes side that went with them. The potatoes had Zero Salt. We couldn’t even finish them. Thankfully our server had recommended we order another side with the duck - the mushrooms, which were wonderful and greatly complemented it.
Service is a standout - great waiter, great guy on the martini cart, and the sommelier recommendation of wine was spot on and a perfect pairing for the duck - so high marks all around in that regard!
We are typically at Orfano weekly and it never fails to not impress us with the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the staff. From when you are greeted walking through the door to everyone you come in contact with, the staff is welcoming and makes you feel special (Thanks Phillip)... breaking away from our norm, we added the sirloin to share at this visit and it was amazing! Always look to try the specials.... and make sure you try the bread sticks, wow!
Really fun place, great atmosphere, food was incredible!
We celebrated a family birthday at Orfano and had a blast. We shared a lot of food from garlic bread to pasta to sirloin to swordfish and enjoyed all of it. The chocolate cake and gelato were delicious, too. The wait staff and bartenders were friendly and appropriately helpful and added to our enjoyment of the evening. We look forward to our next visit.
Loved Orfano! Adam put such care into our cocktails at the bar, then our lovely waitress guided our dinner experience, from helping us with our appetizer choices and wine pairings. Asked her to surprise us with her favorite dessert at the end and it did not disappoint! The ribeye was fantastic, we'll definitely be back for pasta! New date night spot!
Cannot wait to go back for more incredible food! I do wish the waitstaff was a little more enthusiastic overall because it felt like the server phoned it in once gratuity was included. Definitely a missed opportunity since we decided to skip the entree course after pasta and head to another restaurant. Nothing was bad but it wasn't a really great service experience considering the price point and portion size. The food was better than the service for sure.
Food delicious as always. We were seated shortly after our reservation time, which seems to be typical here as it's a popular place and meal service is not rushed. Quality of food is outstanding. Cocktails delicious!
