Patio is lovely

We celebrated the long awaited re-opening of Toronto’s restaurant scene with an outstanding dinner on the patio at Oretta. Burrata pizza to start, warm olives and focaccia to follow. Polippo salad and two pastas rounded out our meal. Staff was attentive and even offered to move us indoor when the rain came. We shared a pistachio tiramisu - divine - for dessert.

Great food as always! Need to work on the social distancing for tables and wait areas. Didn’t seem like you took away any tables to allow for this. Server kept forgetting about us at the beginning :( which is not your norm.

Had the happy hour menu. Everything was absolutely delicious especially the mushroom pizza. Great patio and wonderful service.

All of our appetizers were delicious (artichokes, beet salad and calamari). We all enjoyed our main dishes as well. The steak and veal chop were perfectly cooked and the veggies were perfect. My husband enjoyed the ravioli, kids enjoyed the octopus as well as the margarita pizza. Desserts included cannoli (chocolate and pistachio), tiramisu, and chocolate gelato. We enjoyed it all! The serving staff were all professional and patient. They went above and beyond to help us celebrate our daughter’s 18th birthday. We’ll be back for sure!

Amazing service!

Food and service was amazing. The atmosphere is great however the acoustics of the room make for an extremely loud environment.

Great Food and Fantastic appetizer and drinks on the happy hour

Asked for the menu twice when seated. Cocktails took a very long time. Wine bottle did not.
Apps of crudo and calamari were fantastic.
Veal chop and branzino were good. Pasta was COLD, not warm but cold. No one came over when our entrees were served and we couldn’t flag anyone down to let them know.
Asked for the wine list twice again after having apps.

Wonderful brunch experience! Food and service was great looking forward to next time!

After a very sincere and heartfelt phone call from the manager, I have edited my review. Mistakes happen, first experiences aren't always the best ones but he was sincere and picked up the phone, which in my opinion was more important than something for free or ignoring a brutally honest review.

Most important feedback to take from my review:
ALWAYS ASK GUESTS ABOUT ALLERGIES - Not doing so in some cases can be deadly and fortunately for me I was able to get out of there and get an epipen but mistakes can be deadly.

Heard about this place from a lot of people. Server was slow, drinks took a long time to reach the table. We ordered our dinner about 20 minutes before a table of 6 sat down beside us. The table of 6 received there dinner before us. We are still waiting for our dinner... table of 6 almost done there entrees, still waiting for ours. The server comes by finally and asks what we ordered again. I’m assuming he forgot to punch in our orders. (Happens to the best of us he was busy) however no acknowledgement, would of loved a visit from the manager someone anyone. Instead a bread basket was quickly dropped off to us in passing. unfortunately because of how long the experience took because of the forgotten entrees we had to ask for the bill midway eating because we were late to our next meeting spot. Wanted to order some dessert for my friends birthday, however no time.
Too bad Toronto restaurants won’t really care about reviews like this because they’ll just say it’s one bad experience, look how many people

Great food, great service, fresh atmosphere. A choice place for lunch brunch and dinner

The one word that describes our dinner is "disappointing." We made a pre-theatre reservation SIX WEEKS ago for pre-theatre on a Wednesday evening. When we arrived we were give a table with high top seats that were incredibly uncomfortable. The restaurant was maybe 25% full. When we asked to move, there was a lot of fussing, and they began to set us up at a table of 4 instead of 5: I reiterated we were 5 so they gave us a slightly larger table right next to the kitchen (while about 8 tables for 6 sat empty.) They did offer to move us again "in a few minutes" but at that point we just decided to stick it out. It set us up for an incredibly cramped evening. The items on the happy hour menu are very good - some nice wine at good value, delicious calamari, and some good value smaller pizzas. The food from the main menu was good, not great, and for the price point there are MANY places in Toronto you can get better food. Our server was very pleasant and at times quite attentive...and then in the last 30 minutes of our meal disappeared. Items from the happy hour menu came out very quickly, other items took a long time, and it took so long to try to pay our bill we just paid in cash and left. I would only consider going back here for the happy hour choices, but even then, I think I would choose to take my business elsewhere.

Such incredible food here, most likely one of my favourites in the city. Really friendly staff and a beautiful atmosphere for a date or time with friends. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed the brunch special they have that is any entree item on the menu, a mimosa and dessert for $30.00. I enjoyed the mushroom ravioli. Very good value! I have always walked by this restaurant. Great spot for brunch, hope to check out the cafe next time I'm around.

Food was great but service was really poor. Indicated it was a 30th birthday and they did nothing except try to give us a table in a poor location and let us know another reservation would be coming in at a certain time aka... hurry up. Which would be fine except it was the slowest service I've ever endured. For $200 for 2 people on italian food it was not worth it. Pretty spot though

My wife took me to this restaurant for my birthday.
The food was really good and even our drinks where great.
So really my only complaint was the service wasn’t the greatest. I found they took a while to make our drinks and even our coffees.
The biggest complaint was when the waitress brought the dessert with a birthday candle to the table while my wife was at the washroom. It seemed like stupid mistake to make when all you had to do was look and make sure the other person was at the table.
I wouldn’t return for a special occasion again.

Pasta was insanely delicious. Pizza was perfect - service was excellent. Restaurant is gorgeous. Damien was our server and he is very sweet and professional. Loved it! Would go back in a heartbeat.

I chose oretta because I heard nothing but amazing things from friends. So I decided it would be the perfect place for my sisters birthday brunch! I’m so happy I chose oretta it was soooo delicious I felt like I was back in Italy eating on the boardwalk over looking the Mediterranean. Our service was phenomenal and couldn’t have asked for a better brunch! Thank you for the delicious food and very good drinks. You made my sister’s birthday a great one!

Service was good but only one server on the floor so took forever to get drinks or basically anything!! The manager was of no use and just followed the server around. Poorly executed.

We came here for my mom's birthday and were very impressed! The food was just delicious, ambiance was great and we all felt the service was exceptional. They were remarkably attentive and the manager personally brought a birthday treat for my mom which was such a nice personable touch. We would definitely come back. Thank you!

Adorable place with very good food, cocktails and experience. The right side of the building was very very loud and the service hasn’t very good. But would still go again!! The food was amazing!

Food was fantastic, server was sweet and pleasant through out meal, ambiance lively and noise level loud but conversation still possible. Only note was that service was very slow at times leaving us wondering what had happened to our server at times.

The food was basic. I had a pasta and felt like eating in my own home would have been a better option.

The main floor was a little dark, but overall our experience was wonderful. The food was delectable, the wine was delicious, and the service was stellar. I will definitely be bringing more friends/family here!!

This place is GORGEOUS inside and the food is amazing, we were impressed with every bite.

We went for Valentine’s Day, impromptus Friday evening late. The food was delicious with fresh ingredients and service was good.

TOO NOICE no a good place for date

Honestly, while the staff were nice, their logistics were a complete failure... had a reservation at 9:30 and had to wait 15 minutes before they tried putting us into some dead back room area after which they said they’d put us in the upstairs section, so we complained and had to wait another 15 mins before they put us up there and there were clearly like 5-10 tables empty, set up tables there already so idk... then took another 40 minutes at least before the food came so overall waited like 70-80 minutes from the time I get in to wait for a relatively soggy pizza. Again though, the staff were fairly nice and remade my drink which had a fly in it so given the occasion I’d have to cut them some slack.

I honestly was super excited to dine here on Valentines. I made a reso six weeks prior yet when we arrived they had booths available and we were seated in the middle of the dining room, I asked if we could move to a booth and they said no, as it was busy and Valentine’s Day, but then not even fifteen minutes later they seated two people at a booth. Then as a celiac I ordered gluten free Fried artichokes and the Octopus. I didn’t finish half of it and I was in the bathroom puking. Ben was our server and her assured me everything was gluten free. As aesthetically pleasing as Oretta is, I will not be returning and I will not recommended your restaurant to a friend.

Need to turn off the vents above tables upstairs. It was very cold sitting under them. Asked the server if they could be turned off. Came back on after 5 minutes and people had to put their coats on.
