Orestone Manor is an independent family run classic country house hotel & restaurant. The magnificent Georgian manor house is set in the pretty South Devon coastal village of Maidencombe, with spectacular sea views over Lyme Bay and beyond.

The award winning restaurant has a warm and inviting ambience with views over the terrace and countryside beyond. Our chefs have created wonderful menus with the finest local meats, freshly caught Brixham fish and vegetable produce, some of which has been grown in the hotel gardens.

The setting is fantastic beautiful building good decor and fantastic food and service I will definitely when I am back in Devon I will be there for dinner I would recommend that whoever like steak should try the fillet steak is one of the best I ever had

We chose this place through Tripadvisor as it was on the way to Torquay. It was raining and so we needed somewhere to enjoy a lunch where we could park no problem. The food was lovely especially the pistacio Franzipan tart with Raspberry sorbet. I chose fresh hake which was excellent and my husband chicken. The service was lovely. I would highly recommend it.

Our fifth visit in the last twelve months is evidence of our fondness for this delightful family-run establishment. Lunch on the tranquil sun-kissed terrace passed blissfully. The delicious risottos and a classic Eggs Benedict set us up for the outrageously yummy Orestone Mess. Yes, we’ll be back again soon.

This is fine dining with a friendly, family feel. We thoroughly enjoyed our celebratory meal, from our drinks in the bar, through to coffee in the lounge afterwards. The venison was beautifully prepared; the starters and desserts complementing very well. We hope to be back for more.

This was not our first visit, so we were disappointed on this occasion. Whilst the waiting staff took account of food intolerances when taking our order, the kitchen made a number of small mistakes which, had the intolerances been full-blown allergies, could have caused problems. Both the steak and the venison we found to be on the tough side and not of the quality that we would expect from Orestone Manor.

Your Feedback is welcome. I Apologise, a Chocolate stick decorating your Sorbet due to a communication error. We have reviewed our system to prevent further problems. We only serve Fillet steak the most tender cut to ensure best results Please let us know if on the rare occasion it is not quite as good. we would change it for you. Venison, our menu recommends served pink. On request we cook it on but while acceptable it will not be the same texture as cooked pink. We hope you will return again.

Orestone Manor failed to mention they were closed on their open table page and when they phoned to tell me they were, in fact, closed they were not particularly apologetic. In addition, the didn't seem to change their settings on the online booking sites so more people are likely to be let down in a similar manner. Their food might be nice but I shan't try to book again for fear of being let down last-minute in a similar manner.

This was the first day of being closed. closing open table was on our list. we were monitoring so we did call you back within a few minutes of your booking to minimise any inconvenience. We did apologise to you. We did shut down process that day but being our first time we got it wrong but no other person had tried to book as we were monitoring our e mails as well. Your review score seems a little extreme. where you would go with a score if you actually had a poor experience at a venue

We had a very pleasant evening with friends. The food was delicious, the staff were attentive but discrete and the surroundings and atmosphere were very pleasant.
