First time visit to Orelle. The service was very professional and attentive but not intrusive. The food was outstanding and as it was such a clear day the views were superb.

Overpriced, basic food. Constantly bothered asking if you want a drink but multiple people. So disappointed. Service charge and charity gift added to the bill, I don’t agree with. It should be down to the customer not forced. Won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend.

Dear Nathan, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations and that you found the food and service disappointing. We always aim to deliver high-quality dining with attentive service, and it’s clear we missed the mark on this occasion. Regarding the service charge and optional charity donation, both are discretionary and can be removed upon request—we're sorry if this wasn't made clear. Your comments have been noted and will be shared with the team. We appreciate your visit and regret that we won’t have the opportunity to welcome you again. Kindest, Orelle Management Team

This is my 4th visit to Orelle and the most dissapointing , the staff were attentive the wine was good as were the starters but the main event the Sunday roast was extremely poor The meat we had beef and pork was chewy and dry and mostly inedible and the veg was lukewarm For dessert we ordered 2 cheese plates of 3 cheeses one of the cheeses was just the rind ! The meal for 3 was over £400 and for that price it should have been a lot better
    Orelle BirminghamResponded 1 day ago
Dear Lucy, Thank you for your continued support and for taking the time to share your feedback. We're very sorry to hear that your fourth visit didn’t live up to expectations. While we’re pleased the wine, starters, and service stood out, it’s disappointing that the main courses and cheese plates fell short—especially on such an occasion. For a total bill of over £400 for three guests, including cocktails, a bottle of wine, a carafe, appetisers, and dessert, the experience should have reflected far higher quality and consistency. Your comments have been shared with our kitchen team for immediate review. We truly hope to welcome you back and provide the standard you know us for. Kindest, Orelle Management Team

The food was alright and the ambience was good. But that only goes so far. The service was awful, out initial server was just so rude and condescending. Not all glitters is gold
    Orelle BirminghamResponded 1 day ago
Dear Princess, Thank you for your feedback. While we're glad you enjoyed the ambience and food, we're truly sorry to hear about your service experience. This is not the level of hospitality we aim to provide, and your comments are concerning. If you're open to it, I’d really appreciate it if you could contact me directly to share a bit more about what happened on the night. It would help us address the issue properly and ensure it doesn’t happen again. We’d value the chance to make things right. Warm regards, Orelle Management Team

This is the second time I’ve been here and I always get the same comments. The view over the city is unique. The service is very good, with one downside: no knowledge of the wine list. The food is ok. The main negative point is the extremely unpleasant sound environment: the music is totally inappropriate (style and volume) for a restaurant in this category. Fine for a bar but not for a dining room that would also benefit from some acoustic correction, given the high ceilings, to give it a more cosy atmosphere. The experience could be completely different. But that’s just my point of view.
    Orelle BirminghamResponded 1 day ago
Dear Pascal, Thank you for visiting us again and for taking the time to share such considered feedback. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the view and appreciated the service, though we’re sorry the wine knowledge and overall sound environment didn’t meet your expectations. Your comments about the music style, volume, and acoustics are noted and will be shared with the relevant teams for review. We’re always looking to improve the overall dining experience and truly value your perspective. We hope to welcome you back again in the future. Kindest, Orelle Management Team

I've been going to Orelle about every 9-12 months since it opened for personal celebrations and business meals. I have always enjoyed it and been able to favourably compare it to fine dining in London. I have reviewed it as such in the past. Last night a few things were lacking, from our bread - to nibble- being forgotten and not being available before our starters, to the flambé dessert being splashed on me and setting the rest of the dish alight, it wasn't the same attention to detail I've come to otherwise enjoy. In the past the bread was freshly baked, coming in small individual loaves, the butter was more substantial (it was too light like whipped cream), and the meals were well balanced. The salmon was excessively salty, and the chips a bit too dry. The Rum Baba dessert was served very clumsily with the alight rum splashing onto my arm, and around the dish and the flambé setting the honeycomb on fire, causing smoke and the after effects of burning. It was my daughter's 16th birthday celebration and she's always embarrassed when we raise issues, so I didn't do so there and then, but I am sure the team were aware of the mishaps on our table last night. So, disappointing, and I'll be thinking twice about whether to return if this is the direction of travel in Orelle's journey. All in, our meal was nearly £500 for 4 people.

Dear Marsha, Thank you for your continued support and for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. We're truly sorry your recent visit didn’t reflect the standard you’ve come to expect from Orelle. The missed bread, oversalted salmon, and especially the mishandled Rum Baba—on your daughter’s 16th birthday—are deeply regrettable. This isn’t the experience we aim to deliver, and we understand how disappointing this must have been. We’ve shared your comments with our kitchen and service teams for immediate review and improvement. We truly value your loyalty and hope to welcome you back to restore your confidence in us. Kindest, Orelle Management Team

Good. I hope in the future it’s less waiters being too intrusive and allowing customers to breath.
