Road house food at gourmet prices. Expensive at half the price. Bland, un-garnished, unseasoned plain boiled vegetables, without even any Bernaise sauce on the asparagus or, for that matter, any sauce or any garnish on anything at all. Presentation was zero on a score of 1 to 5. Server never took drink order so all we ever had was water (even though the wife wanted to order wine), let the food go cold in the kitchen before another server brought it out 40 minutes later. $55 for an adequate but totally bland (although properly cooked) piece of blackened salmon, small baked potato and two boiled broccoli florettes un-embellished with any thing. Salad bar instead of salads freshly prepared and brought to the table. Property was so noisy that the server had to scream over the noise from the loud drunks at the bar. Faux rustic cabin decor is okay, but the hard walls only reflect the noise even more. Impossible to converse with my dinner guest. This place is perfectly adequate, as is the food, for casual dining. The problem is, it is charging prices suitable to a white-table-cloth mid-range restaurant, not a coffee shop. And, the lack of service made us feel very much unwanted.

Drunks, sauce, Road House, bland, screaming, Faux decor reflects more noise? So quickly, how did you get your glass of wine if you never ordered it? Your Raspberry Salmon (properly cooked) has a Raspberry glaze (sauce) over it. Béarnaise (sauce) is optional as some can't have it. The salad bar has been a part of our place for 52 years now (thought you can always request a plated salad). Walls, :40 mins, it's just too much. Cheers

We had dinner at the Ore House twice while staying at the Sheraton in Steamboat. We enjoyed both dinners. The first time we had the prime rib special that was advertised for $19.71. The check showed $2 more. The server checked and he said it was correct and speculated that it had something to do with the tax. They have a good selection of wines and we really enjoyed a nice bottle of Merlot. The second time we were there it was Prom night. Our table was not great, but food and wine were very good again. Service was friendly and attentive.

Service: Actual proper service. Not rushed, excellent timing with efficient and effective communication. Ambience is rustic with warmth and understated, ranch - woodsy -serene vibes. Proper "Ole Fashion" and trout was fabulous. Elk loin was perfectly prepared and seasoned. Excellent experience.

My 2 year old granddaughter is a steak connoisseur. She kept asking her grandfather for “more steak” from his 12 ounce rib eye. The salad bar is always well stocked and the rolls and cinnamon rolls are so delicious. It was wonderful to spend another birthday at the Ore House, it was my daughters 30th!

I come here often always amazing. This time I invited a bunch of my female friends for a ladies night, it was perfect! It was a slower night (Monday) so they let us just hang out talk, laugh, eat and drink, they made sure we were taken care of but no pressure to leave. Even when it's not a slower night they don't rush you! Food Is always on point and extremely tasty!

Three in our party. One loved their pork chop. One loved their 8 ounce steak. I did not like the Rainbow trout. It was over baked, thin, & very dry. I requested blackened trout, but spice didn’t help. I would NOT order again. The Salad bar is excellent!

Since we are locals we go to the Ore House for all are special occasions. The food is always excellent! The salad bar is something we really look forward to at every visit. We have even had staff parties at the Ore House. The staff is helpful and courteous with a smile on their face. We will continue to make the Ore House our "go to" restaurant for any event even just for a break in our routine.
