Orange Hill Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I had been to Orange Hill restaurant before for a lovely Valentine’s Day dinner so I was familiar with this wonderful restaurant. We most recently had dinner to celebrate my daughter’s 21st Birthday and it was a memorable celebration! Delicious food, scenic views, lovely ambiance and fantastic service! I would give a higher rating if I was allowed to rate higher than 5 stars! We will be coming back again!
This restaurant is definitely my new favorite. The place is very much a homey place to eat. It is extremely comfortable and the atmosphere is warm and casual. Dining outside is pretty much *the* way to eat there. The view is absolutely astonishing. Staff is friendly and accommodating. The only complaint I have is that it can feel small in some places. Other than that this place is certainly the best restaurant I've visited.
My wife and I really love this place but lately we've noticed that the standard for dinner attire has drastically decreased. A place like Orange Hill forfeits a significant level of it's elegance when men are allowed to have dinner in jeans, flip flops and baseball caps. I sincerely hope a proper dress code becomes apart of this luxurious place.
It was for a birthday 🎂 celebration. Our table was party of 12 and our table location was fine. Our waiters were decent but we had better. We didn’t get offered bread. Our drink order was taken too long and only passed out one drink menu for party of 12! I felt like i was looking for my waiter in the beginning too many times. My birthday girl thought 2nd waiter was annoyed with our table.
Most of the ladies were not happy with their steak or fish dish. Nobody complained because it was special occasion. The 3 course meal was a complete fail. I am sorry to give this review but head chef really needs to know. One out of the 12 ladies liked the 3 course meal. Most of us just ate it because we were starving. One went to fast food afterwards because she was still hungry ( she didn’t eat much of her dish). How do you mess up dessert?! We all in shock on this! Sorry Orange Hills.
Outside landscape needs to be improved GREATLY. Needs color with use of flowers. Very disappointing for an expensive restaurant with a view. Dinning tables are too casual (looks like lumber with thick coating of polyurethane laquer). Food is good, but needs improvement. The Anaheim White House beats all restaurants in Orange County in flavor and presentation of food.
I love going there! Love the view and the ambiance. My fav is the Patio. Ordered steak Dianne last visit, that was bust! Ordered Rib Eye this time, it was a bust as well. Appetizers were great! Spinach artichoke dip was great and so was. Calamari. Filet was ok, salads were great and their Mac & cheese was awesome! Their steaks are not that good. Will order something else next time, otherwise, service was great as well!
Orange Hill has a spectacular overview to the west. Combined with expertly prepared, highest quality, meats and fish you can't beat it whether it be for just drinks on the patio, a romantic dinner, or a special event for 100 people.
We have dined at the Orange Hill Restaurant several times over the years and always enjoy the view, atmosphere, food and service. This New Year’s Eve was no exception. Great view, excellent food and service in both the bar and restaurant. We love bringing our out of town guests here for the view and food. The scallops and Chilean Sea Bass were cooked to perfection and the service was excellent.
The only negative comment we have is that window seats were offered at $25 per person premium, which we felt was beneath the caliber of this restaurant. We declined on principle alone, and were definitely disappointed. Will probably not dine here again on NYE if this policy is continued in future. We noticed that several window tables were empty during the time frame we were there, which was unfortunate.
Not recommending this restaurant to eat at. We celebrated New Year's Eve there; the menu was EXTREMELY limited with absolutely NO substitutions allowed on anything. Example, the filet mignon listed a side of onions (I didn't realize onions were considered a side dish) and we weren't able to order a baked potato instead (even if we wanted to pay extra). Steak came with a side of 1 tiny carrot and 2 pieces of broccoli, steamed. The dessert we got consisted 3 small bland dry sesame cubes, 2 spoonfuls of chocolate pudding (listed as mousse) and a 2" cube of honey ice cream for $11.00; waaaay overpriced for what you receive. Also, if you desire a window seat, they charge $25.00 extra per person.
This is,a great lovely place to be! Food is delicious ! This is one of the best places to have a good brunch, or an amazing dinner with especial people and friends or family. This restaurant has beautiful panoramic views that make your mind fly away and dream. Service is excellent and very friendly .
My boyfriend and I came here for date night. I've always wanted to come here because I love restaurants with amazing views! We were greeted warmly upon arrival. And seated at the very edge of the patio, the host said our waiter would be with us shortly but we actually had to follow up with someone because he didn't show for at least 10 minutes. We asked to be moved to a different table, and they were able to accommodate us. The view does not disappoint! We ordered steaks, ordered them medium rare, and came to us medium well. We asked our waitress if they can double check our order in case we misspoke and said medium well instead. But indeed we did order medium rare. They took the steaks back to the back but our waitress returned with the same plates saying the lighting inside and outside is different. But suggested if we were still not satisfied maybe order rare. Which is what we did. We asked for bread while waiting. But the second steaks came way before the bread. Which was very odd. They then brought us the new steaks which weren't very tasteful at all. We needed steak sauce and extra salt. Staff was nice, but I might suggest just going for a hot chocolate and enjoy the view by the patio. You might be disappointed with the food.
My husband and I dine at the Orange hill restraunt every year for our anniversary. Wee haven't changed the location because each time we go it is such a great experience and so nice. The view is stunning; it takes you out of the busy city and puts you, what feels like, the top of the world overlooking everything! Highly recommend it.
Nice restaurant with amazing views and ambience. Food was okay, with the Orange Hill burger the best of what was ordered. The prime rib was too fatty and the spinach artichoke dip only came with two slices of toast, but was quite tasty. Surprisingly good kids menu too. Overall a good experience.
We dined at Orange Hill on a Wednesday night to celebrate our engagement. We arrived earlier than our reservation so we sat in the bar area and ordered drinks. The waiter was very knowledgeable and recommended a great whisky for my fiancé. We were seated at a table with a great view and our waitress was very kind and attentive. We ordered duck tacos to start (yummy!) and then for dinner I had the prime rib and he had steak (can’t rememeber what cut) and they were so good we immediately decided to return again soon to eat. For dessert we ordered creambrule and it was to die for! The greatest surprise was when our waitress brought us a plate saying “congratulations” and two glasses of champagne. Thank you Orange Hill for making our night so special!!
The only negative thing I can say is we sat next to the loudest and drunkest group of people but it wasn’t bad enough that we asked to move. At least they were having a good night too, right?
The servers on the patio gave us no attention and there wasn't many people on the patio we had to ask for refills and plate clearing and they seemed to never see us when we tried to wave them down. When its a buffet and you aren't serving food there is no reason anyone's glass should be empty of water or ice tea or champagne. I have eaten there many times but this was the worse service i have ever had there on the patio.
We've been going to Orange Hill's brunch for years, maybe 12 or so, either at Thanksgiving or Christmas. We have always loved the views and the choice of quality food. The price has always been pretty reasonable, until recent years. We went this past Christmas for brunch. The views were spectacular as usual. We were seated at a great table. However, the price of the brunch has gone up dramatically, but they have cut all of the quality that they had in their food. The crab legs used to be huge sized. They are now scrawny with barely any meat. There used to be buckets of drawn butter for pancakes, waffles and crab legs. Now, you have to ask for drawn butter and they will bring you a small container full. There are no more pancakes being served, at least we didn't see any. The food choices have been more limited each year for the last 5 years. The help is not nearly as friendly as they were years ago. The desserts are almost offensively bad tasting. They've taken away the kid's bar bar that they had years ago and we didn't notice the ice cream bar this time that they've had the last couple of years. The scrambled eggs were dry this year and the bacon strips were much smaller and thinner than in the past. The waffles were over cooked and way too crunchy. When we got the bill, it said 3 @195.00 and the total with tax was $210.00 before tip. Very recently, the price was around $160 for three adults and one kid and the quality and variety of food was much better. This place is going downhill fast and we probably won't be back. We've estimated that for $240 including tip, there are much better choices for celebrating the holidays.
We went to for Christmas Day Champagne Brunch but disappointed with the quality of the food for the price we paid for this brunch. I would only recommend this restaurant for happy hour drinks because the views on the patio area are beautiful. Too bad the food is poor quality. Management should visit the Castaways Restaurant in Burbank....now that is worth the money and the views are spectacular
This was not our first trip to Orange Hill for Christmas morning brunch and it will certainly not be our last. The food was fresh and abundant, the options were interesting and well balanced, and the kids choices were excellent. The salads and fish options were very good and a welcome change from the heavier options (although still good). The little one liked the dessert bar and his mother thought that the do-it-yourself s'mores was fun.
Reserved a table from website. There was no notice about a Buffet style ONLY for Christmas Eve dinner. The resturant called me and spoke with me to confirm the reservation . There AGAIN was nothing said to me about the menu for the evening ONLY being a buffet style . When we arrived at the restaurant , the hostess told us the news , with no compassion , we were surprised and quite disappointed....
I have been going to Ornge Hill since I 2as in High School and have seen it deteriorating over the years. It use to be a very nice and classy place and now it is not, it is living on the past. We went for Christmas dinner and instead of finding a seasonal menu we got a left over buffet, everything was dry or over cooked, no care about the people or the Christmas time. I was very disappointed and most likely will not be going back.
