Another outstanding visit to the Orange Hill Restaurant. Quality food, service and ambiance. This place is awesome!!
Jim! Thank you for taking the time to inform us of your recent experience! We look forward to hosting you again.
Food good, waiter mediocre not professional service. What waiter lacked female manager saved the day. She was picking up the pieces he left. View wonderful!
it was nice, although we had a reservation and stated in that we request and outside table, we had to wait 30 minutes.
I made reservations a week in advance for my boyfriend and myself for August 18, 2019 at 7:45pm with especial instructions on a table next to the window with a nice view. Our fist time here, we checked in 10 minutes early and weren't seated until 45 minutes - 1 hour later while waiting in the bar area. While in the bar, I asked the waitress if she could make me a 'Black Manhattan' with a bourbon not too expensive but also not the cheapest. She said that she had the perfect bourbon and when I received my bill for my one drink, it was $30.00!! I just paid it without a fuss because I was hungry and already irritated. Finally when we got seated, we were seated next to a window that had a wedding reception as our main view. Again, I am hungry so I don't make a fuss about the seating. I ordered the Cape Grim Pasture Raised Rib-Eye and my boyfriend ordered the Miso-Marinated Chilean Sea Bass. 48 minutes later after receiving our food, I took my first bite out of my Rib-Eye steak and it was beyond salty that I refused to take another bite. I was going to ask the waitress if she could just take the dish back and leave the restaurant but my amazing boyfriend, was also extremely irritated with our whole experience, traded his dish with mine. We tried to make the best out of that night but this was the worse experience we've had for quite some time.
Excellent! Great Food, Great Service, Great View, definitely visiting again.
Was there on a Sunday, had reservations for dinner at sunset. They sat us at a fire pit, no table for our food. We didn't accept so we stood around waiting for a table, ended up sitting inside which is not what we asked for. The waiter was really nice, but the service was slow. We waited about an hour for our food after ordering. The view was awesome and we were able to see the Disneyland fireworks show. Food presentation was really nice and delicious. The bread was reheated I think, but still good. I ordered the beef ribs (amazing), but was still hungry after. Only served one rib. I'm not a big eater but one rib wasn't going to cut it. My wife ordered filet mignon, it was a little dry for medium well. She was nice enough to share with me since I was still hungry and didn't want to wait another hour for more food. Not sure if I'd go back. Bottom line it was- meh, ok.
Food was ok but the view of sunset fantastic
Service on Sunday was ok and food came to table not hot
Asked to reheat and good came back same temperature in two minutes
It was a great place to see sunset but nothing else
The food here has really gone down hill in the past few years. We ordered 3 different cuts of steak, all medium rare. Our flat iron arrived well done, petite filet was medium and dry aged New York was medium well. The calamari was dry and over cooked. The only thing worth eating was shrimp cocktail. Come here for wine and the view.
It’s a beautiful restaurant with amazing views. I thought the food was ok.
Good food, service was ok.
Fantastic views. Good food, but for the price, entrees should include 2 sides without an additional charge. Service was lacking. Our first server took a dinner break, and the server he handed us off to disappeared for 20 minutes until we asked a busboy to find her. She defended herself by saying she was serving 8 tables, and thought we were waiting for entrees (we were already done, and wanting to order dessert). Unacceptable amount for one person to wait on for an upscale restaurant.
We love the food and the service is great. We don’t get to come very often but this is one of our top choices.
Way overpriced, mediocre food. Slow service. Overall, a bad experience.
There was a bit of a snafu at first with our table reservation not being outside on the porch as we had requested. However the general manager stepped in and move some tables around on a busy Friday night and managed to squeeze Us in Where We belonged. Excellent service, excellent venue, will definitely be back.
The food was great! Much better than the pictures look. Staff was nice but slow.
We arrived at 7pm we had made reservations a few days in advance. Upon arrival they ask us if we preferred the fire pit seating we said yes and had to wait an additional 30 minutes. Then when they took us to our table it was an indoor table so I told her we were suppose to be at a fire pit table. We had to wait another 5 minutes.
So on that part very disorganized. Food we found to be salty. The steak was delicious. The view is amazing.
The reception staff was very nice.
The waiter was a little too chatty.
The shrimp cocktail was very cool - it was served on smoking dry ice!! That was really fun. But, it was all downhill from there!
The service was terrible. We waited for everything. When we asked for more bread we were told there were “6 people ahead of us” waiting for bread. Maybe I didn’t hear that correctly?????
We finished our coffee by the time we got the dessert.
We poured our own wine on a few occasions.
The price was extraordinary for the small portions and they were just average. The meat was a little cool when we got it. The plate was gigantic for a petit filet.
Everything - sides - was ala crate.
I am willing to pay for an expensive dinner, but I expect service, Cairo and great food. I received none on this occasion.
My niece and I had a very enjoyable time at the restaurant. Our server, Jason, was helpful, attentive and pleasant. However, the young man, who acted as the greeter, requires a little more training in how he speaks to the customer. He greeted us, two women, by referring to us as "guys." I explained to him that it would be more appropriate to acknowledge us as "ladies." His response was "that is the way he talks." He continued to refer to us as "guys" three more times as he seated us. I was surprised that he did not take my request seriously and I hope management will speak with him about this issue.
We visit OC each year, and returning to Orange Hill Is one of our favorite plans. The service this time, from Shain (?) was over the top. We have never been disappointed!
While at bar they told us table was ready. We left bar and then said they can’t seat us until all are Party was ready so went back to bar and they said they could seat us. Felt like musical chairs.
Waitress was slow!
The staff told us they would let us know when our table was ready while we waited in the bar. They didn't and we had to check on it twice. We had a reservation and the waited over 15 minutes before we decided to check in on the table. Other than that, the view was exceptional, the waiter was attentive and the staff was friendly.
Food and service great. Decor needs updating, better lighting required inside. Could benefit from some landscaping in and around patio dining area
Went with 4 of my best friends to celebrate a friends wife recently announcing she was pregnant. The service was very slow, we were sat at a fire pit and not a table, the dinner took almost 2 1/2-3 hours to complete.
We have going to this restaurant since we were kids ..but today, when we went i experienced the worst service I have ever had .. Unfortunately we made the reservation to celebrate (Eid) i regret reserving there..
-Front desk service was very rude
-At the table, we didn't have any bread and when asked they said we are out of it .. then after noting that right when our food came they brought some bread to the table ..
-they were out of lots of food in the menu at 7:30 pm ..
-we sat outside after dinner and again when we asked for some drinks (coffee & hot chocolate) they said that they might not be able to get us some..
Food took an hour to come out
I would recommend for the view. The server was very pleasant. Waited a little longer than usual for the food, they comped us dessert. A little pricier than it should be.
They did let us move to the patio for desert which was nice way to enjoy the view and the fire pit.
It has been a long time since I have been to Orange Hill & it was as good if not better than before. Food very fresh & delicious. David was our server & was attentive. We couldn't be happier to reconnect with this great restaurant
The food was cooked to perfection.
Me and my wife we calibrating our four year anniversary your restaurant happen to be the place she said yes and we have eaten there a few times before. Unfortunately this Time was not good with service and timing for one our sever seemed high and not with it also getting my order wrong though I didn’t say anything because I was already tired of waiting to eat she went on lunch when we ordered dissertation and we didn’t get it until she came back which was about a half hour 45 min we spend most of the 3.5 hours waiting for food and felt we where there way to long getting there at 7 we unfortuanly had to cancel most of our evening because we didn’t get out of the restaurant until after 10 which was horrible.. if you have any further questions about our evening please feel free to contact me any time
Birthday for my daughter
Everything was fantastic starting with the view and ending with dessert! Perfect place to celebrate any occasion
Apparently lunch reservations on Saturday means a minimum brunch menu, with very little options for vegetarians. Not what we were looking for. Top it off, the bar doesn't offer appetizers. i guess we'll return to Orange County Mining Company. Service was fair to good.
Birthday brunch - limited meal option but they tried to make it work
Reserved a window table for 7:45pm and was told over the phone “for sure can get one”.
We then get to the front and the lady gives us attitude when I’m disappointed there’s no window table as I was assured there would be one for us. This lady then had the audacity to condescendingly tell me that window seats are merely a “request, not promise”. Yeah that’s cool, but then tell your patrons, and don’t be a jerk about it.
So we are then told we can wait for over 30 minutes past our reservation for a window OR be sat anywhere and that’ll be soon. So we say we will take any table as they stated we will be sat very soon.
We sat at the bar to wait for our reservation. Waited 30 min for a reservation. I got up to check and they said they are still waiting for a window table.
WTF. Are you kidding me?!
We said we’d take any table so we could eat. Mind you we didn’t order food at the bar because of this and we were STARVING.
Now they wanted to pawn us off to a random table after all that wait. Based upon the wait time we’d qualify for that “for sure” window seat.
Finally got sat and after 20 min still didn’t see a waiter. We walked out and Ubered to another restaurant where they will at least treat you with common decency and like a human for a $200 dinner, unlike Orange Hill.
Reservation don’t mean anything. Awful service. Never coming back.
Thank you for your feedback. As previously stated, our reservation policy is as follows; we will honor your time slot accordingly, and if you have a special seating preference (i.e window, patio, etc) then there is a chance that there will be a wait, as we can not guarantee every request unfortunately. Our host stand is very versed on this and I apologize if any member of our team did not communicate effectively. Thank you, Courtney Miller, Manager
Great view! Great view! Great view!
Beautiful view. Great service. Love the fire pits & the music.
I know you pay for the view but the food was great as well: kids loved the lobster mac & cheese and the steaks.
Good selection of fine wine.
Valet parking- tip is up to you but didn’t charge for the service- fist class service.
Would come back again when visiting OC next time.
Food was amazing!! Very delicious well worth the price. Beautiful view!! Great for special date. Can’t wait to go back...
It is a nice place but nothing outstanding, the best part of our time at this place was our server Julian, the food was just "ok", I loved the views we saw a beautiful sunset 🥰...
38 anniversary choice. Seated 30 minute after reservation into a nearly empty room. Family party seated right next to us why? in an nearly empty restaurant with theur 9 and 11 year old kids running up and climbing in empty booths. I told waitress she just said im sorry. Why wouldnt you reseat us or them somewhere else.
No management. Overcooked $40 dry lobster tail. Waitress was trying so hard but no support by her team. I was a waitress my husband a waiter. So hard if the kitchen is bad and management. We paid $300 for this. We came for a peaceful and upscale fine dining experience. We came 8/8/19 at 6:45. Jamie copenhaver
The New York steak was hard. Low quality beef. Expect better quality from a classy restaurant. The crab cake was good. As was the lobster pasta and the fish. The dessert was excellent.
The view from the restaurant is outstanding.
There was no staff assigned to remove dirty dishes between courses. Was forced to hail down staff.
They had 5 staff members at the check-in station. I guess one to check in guests and the other 4 to put in a light bulb
