We had reservations, which we were seated promptly. We were able to sit outside which was perfect for the sunset. There was heaters to keep warm outdoors. The servers were great. Food: appetizers coconut shrimp and the brussel sprouts- delicious. Chateaubriand 20 oz. Steak - table side- show was amazing but the steak was just ok. I wish it had more flavor for the price but I'm thinking the price was more for the show. They light the steak on fire and trim tableside. The outside of the steak was tough and cooked more than medium rare. I'm not one to send anything back or complain but I feel it would've been much better med. Rare. Sides: baked potato and 4 cheese mac- delicious. Desert: salted caramel ice cream with date bread(not sure I forgot) amazing
Poor service and the food is lackluster. The view is gorgeous but not worth the price.
Anniversary dinner. Patio seating was lovely. Food was outstanding.
Spectacular view! Food and service was outstanding.
We were super disappointed with dinner. 4 of us celebrating my sons b-day. The service was super slow... 1 hr 20 min before we got our dinner. 7pm seating.. Unacceptable! We had a reservation with open table. They did acknowledge my sons b-day because I put that note in Open Table. That was nice. We ordered and the waiter came back to tell us they are out of $19 hamburger.. really?! So my son had to order a $38 steak. I asked if he could have steak and fries instead of potato fingerlings and vegetables because he’s a teen and was wanted a burger and fries and the waiter said no substitutions... I asked for a manager and of course she made the exception.. the waiter could have said he would check with the manager. Never mentioned he could get sliders on the kids menu.. The Rib Eye I ordered was super dry and the potato fingerlings and.vegetables were all shriveled up! Terrible presentation. The waiter never offered a salad for starters.. This was a 360 from their quality in the past. Even my cocktail wasn’t very good. They won’t make it, if they keep this service up. Prime location but not worth spending an evening there and spending a good bill on dinner! Waiters and waitress not all that friendly. They could have offered the steak at a burger price since nothing was near the price. Could have brought us an appetizer for the LONG wait.. no apologies..could of offered us a dessert on the house. Never even asked if I wanted another drink when mine was empty. All around terrible. Patio heaters kept going out. Such an issue with the waiters trying to accommodate. They need to ditch those and install gas rectangle heaters on the roof eves for the whole patio. Bathroom sloppy and no toilet paper. Very disappointed.
Don't order the Rib Eye Steak. Service was great very concerned about the small problem with the Rib Eye.
View was beautiful but the Ribeye steak had no flavor. Crab cake was amazing
What a beautiful view amazing and you can enjoy your meal ❤️
Wife’s birthday. Everything was very good
Nice view, good service, food average, but expensive, probably view is included with the price.
Expect to spend about $100 per person.
Our anniversary dinner was the best as always. Great food and great service.
Suggest they get more staff to clear tables before main meals arrive.
The view was incredible. Our reservation was at 2100, late enough to where we had the entire room to ourselves. We were able to see the Anaheim Disneyland fireworks in the distance while eating dinner. Excellent experience.
Our server Julien was awesome! The food, our server, our wine, everything was better than we had expected or would have hoped for.
We went for the first time for my boyfriends birthday and we absolutely LOVEEE Orange Hill! We will 100% be back again. Thank you !!
Great food and service
I order my meat well done and it was delivered to me still blood and pink, it was taken to make sure it get cook well done and unfortunately it wasn't.. could not eat my meat. Manager was aware and offered to make up to us.. but discounting our 2 drink wasn't pleasant at all..
Mattie and Ben were our servers and everything was great! The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. I’ll definitely be back soon.
Great views but terrible service.
The food was amazing, Karen was our server..Amazing! The view was beautiful we could see the fireworks from Disneyland in the distance it was all around wonderful. Definitely recommend
You go for the view - not the food. The service is great and the view is one of the best in Orange County.
Kayla, We are glad you got to come and witness the amazing backdrop we are so fortunate to work with and your service was great as well! We always strive for the food to equally compare. We just rolled out a fun new menu this week and would love for you to check it out! Thanks, Courtney Miller, Manager
Not so thrilled with des nass needs a diffeyssucr
All very good. Server was lovely but I've forgotten her name. Food took a while to come out but I enjoyed my skirt steak! We will be back.
Let's see...we have a restaurant in the city of Orange sitting atop a hill. Why don't we call it Orange Hill?
Fantastic! What Genius! Seriously, though, folks. If you want a romantic terrace with fireplace pits, outdoor heaters, and a view of the entire Orange County flatland with the Pacific Ocean in the background, this place is for you. The food and service ain't bad either, but those are just additions to the great view.
I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT - THE SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE ! THE FOOD WAS COLD AND NOT WELL DONE EVEN AFTER LETTING THE SERVER KNOW. ONLY THING GOOD ABOUT THIS RESTAURANT IS THE FANTASTIC VIEW FROM TOP. EVERYTHING ELSE IS JUST AWFUL !
We had to wait for a very long time for our server to bring us our drinks
Overall are great but service has to be improved. The view , the ambiance and the selections of foods are great.
Received incorrect food twice and entree was undercooked.
I have been coming off and on to Orange Hills since 1974! Always for dinner (graduation, etc) and I always enjoyed myself.
Saturday I came up for brunch (the first time in a long time, since I had moved to Texas for a while) and now live in Laguna Wood Village.
The brunch was $55 per person - no problem - but was bothered me is that I felt like I was in a Cafeteria! No ambiance at all! No table cloth, no flowers, no place mat - NOTHING!
The outdoor patio seating was great, with the view of the city. The food and cocktail were delicious.
Everything was great—- however our reservation was at 6:45 and we weren’t seated until about 7:15. We arrived at 6:35, which is ten minutes earlier than our reservation, and we surprised that even at the time of our reservation, we were not seated. A disappointment considering our meal ran late and we had somewhere to be after for my husband’s birthday.
So if you plan to eat at a certain time I would recommend making the reservation around 15-30 earlier than you plan to. Not sure if this is a common occurrence, but in my experience a reservation means the restaurant is expecting your arrival and has your table ready to go by the time you arrive.
However, our waitress was AMAZING, the bussers were extremely helpful, the food and everything else was amazing.
We have been coming for our birthday's and at least twice during the past 5 years and it's still the best and most exciting place I can take all of my guest.
It was a beautiful location, and we went right at sunset and everything was gorgeous, the entrance the venue, the deck. We loved it. There was a very loud family sitting right behind us so that was a little displeasing but that isn't something the restaurant had control over. Definitely recommend
Awesome experience. :) Megan our server was a sweetheart!
Great restaurant! Food was delicious, service was appropriately timed and attentive. Best of all I got engaged! Fantastic ambiance.
Still a great place to visit, a great place to eat and definitely a fabulous place to enjoy.
Big disappointment. Food was sub par and the atmosphere was lacking. No table cloths to create a nice clean look and feel in the dining rooms. The best thing was the view. Orange Hill has serious competition with The Summit House in Fullerton. Everything Orange Hill was not, The Summit House is.
Overall the experience was okay obviously the view was amazing but generally not the best service. I was very disappointed when we called days in advance asking to add just 2 people to our reservation and we’re told no. Then on the day of I called again hoping something had changed and again they said no. Then we arrive and there is an extra chair at our table and another spot where a chair could be added. I was very disappointed because we had to separate our group to come to dinner and it was not cool. The manager was nice about it but overall really poorly organized and the service was very slow.
Great experience! Great food and service!!
From the beginning. It was clear the staff was overwhelmed. And management had not staffed up for a busy weekend. Their fault. Not the servers.
The place appears old and tired. Furniture. Furnishings. Carpet Old.
I understand the history of the the place and nostalgia. But that should not prevent upgrading thing every so often. Profits can be put back in to the product and not just pocketed away
The table setting with slipshod at best.
For all the hype about the place it was extremely disappointing. Won’t go back
