Das ORA ist eine charmante und einzigartige Weinbar mit Restaurant in der ehemaligen Apotheke am Oranienplatz im Herzen von Kreuzberg. In den schönen Räumlichkeiten sind noch die detailreichen Holzarbeiten und Deckengesimse von 1860 und den 1920er Jahren erhalten. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail wurde die Oranien Apotheke im Juni 2020 als ORA wiedereröffnet.

Bei der Qualität der verwendeten Zutaten gehen wir keine Kompromisse ein. Wir beziehen die besten verfügbaren Produkte aus biologischem, nachhaltigem und regenerativem Anbau, unter anderem von unserem eigenen Hof im Spreewald. Unser Fisch wird von kleinen Fischkuttern gefangen und unser Fleisch stammt aus Wildfang oder aus ethischer Tierhaltung.

For this price level I would prefer if the staff introduces the dishes I‘m about to eat - it‘s easy to forget what each dish includes. I was also a little bit baffled about the 7€ water… Otherwise the food was amazing and staff was friendly & polite!

An hour waiting for the first dish is too long. We complained about a fish that was too bland but got a snobbish explanation to why it had to taste of nothing. Not cool.

Unser Besuch im Ora war wirklich mehr als seltsam: Der Service wirkte unsicher, unprofessionell und sprach nur Englisch mit uns, was wirklich irritierend war. Das Essen war drittklassig, prätentiös und völlig überteuert. Das Essenskonzept war auch nicht leicht zu verstehen und alles wirkte irgendwie wie eine Expat-/Tourifalle.

Schönes Ambiente, guter Wein und interessante Gerichte, aber: das Sharing-Konzept ist unbefriedigend. Obwohl wir 3x das Sharing-Menü für 55€ bestellt hatten, wurde uns ständig suggeriert, dass das nicht reichen würde und wir wurden mehrfach gefragt, was wir noch dazu bestellen wollten. Vom - portionierten! -Dessert kamen dann auch nur zwei Portionen mit den Worten „ to share“. Fazit: das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt m. E. nicht.

Die ehemalige Apotheke sorgt für eine gute Atmosphäre. Manko ist die schummrige Beleuchtung. Man kaum die Speisekarte und Speisen sehen. Der Service ist ausgezeichnet. Insgesamt eine gute Erfahrung. Werde bestimmt nochmal hingehen.
