Fantastic from start to finish. Get The Feast tasting menu. Excellent value and the wine pairings were a great complement. Service was very good and the atmosphere was fun. We sat at the chef's counter and were able to interact with the staff throughout the meal.
Amazing cuisine - top of Seattle. Service is warm and personable. Top on the list of recommendations.
Our first time here- we had the tasting menu with wine pairings. The food was wonderful, and the wine selections were all interesting and very well matched. The server was extremely knowledgeable. A note: the tasting menu was very meat-focused, which totally worked for us.
Such a delightful neighborhood gem and destination restaurant. We are lucky to have this addition to culinary scene.
Finally had the chance to visit Opus.
The food was delicious, and everything was carefully prepared and presented. Full marks for flavor and consideration.
The space is small and cozy while being very clean and somehow feeling more spacious.
The one drawback was the music volume. My party sat next to the window to enjoy people watching, but the music was loud enough to impede our conversation. We asked the hostess to reduce the volume, which she did... slightly. It was still difficult to hear my dinner companion. The music also felt a bit incongruous to the overall presentation of the dining room.
Not much to say other than impeccable! I've read great reviews and wanted to see for myself. Creative, fresh and delicious foods, amazing wines and service all in a sweet place that allows you to leave the Seattle bussel at the door. I'm going back for another round when a special dinner is called for.
I’ll be back
My boyfriend and I were very impressed with the food and friendly service.
The food was outstanding, service impeccable and atmosphere modern yet cozy. We loved it!
The food was artfully prepared from the seasonal menu. Flavors were great. Limited menu offerings.
Nothing but WOW! We did the Opus Feast and was hands down one of the better meals we’ve had in a while! Thanks Opus Co. for an amazing experience, see you again soon!
This was one of the best meals I've had in Seattle in years. I can't say enough about this place. The food is amazing, the people are exceptionally nice and the atmosphere is quaint and understated. Do yourself a favor and get the tasting menu - awesome!
The food was fantastic, but the real star for me was the wine pairing. I enjoyed the limited menu, and thought everything was delicious. The space is a little small/cramped, but I felt it added to the ambiance. A real neighborhood gem, perfect for special occasions or dates.
We sat at the Chef's Table and it was really great!
Celebrating my birthday at Opus Co was fantastic. I let them know that I'm a vegetarian when I booked, so when we requested the Feast tasting menu, they were prepared with some options for me. My omnivore partner and I both really enjoyed each course, and the addition of the birthday candle to my dessert added a nice final touch to the meal. This was my second time at Opus Co. and we'll definitely be back in the future for more special occasions!
Amazing restaurant from start to finish! One of the best meals I've had in Seattle. I can't recommend highly enough.
We had a fabulous pris fix menu on Valentine’s Day with the wine pairing. Inventive food and great service.
Great addition to the Phinney ridge neighborhood! Love the food and the team at Opus co.!
All in all, a good experience. The last lamb dish was not up to par unfortunately. The kale salad was very tasty, will go back for sure.
This place is phenomenal! As parents of a young kid we don't go on dates as often as we'd like. Opus was a perfect place to go where we could hear each other talk, and the service & food was exceptional. We had the kitchen plate us with wine pairings and loved everything that came out! I can't wait to go back.
We had the feast with the wine pairings. Would recommend and we will come again!
One of the best meals I've had in Seattle! (And I've lived here since 1959.)
I was so thrilled with the whole meal! The restaurants is cute and cozy, service attentive but not stuffy, and the food was unexpected and refreshing! I feel like whenever I eat out I'm not getting anything that creative but this place blew me away!
A classic Seattle dining experience. We sat at the counter and got to enjoy watching the preparation of all the local foods.
Imaginative and tasty food with charming service. As noted in other reviews, the volume of the music was just a tad higher than optimum for this cozy, intimate setting but it certainly won't keep us away. Staff was aware of our time constraints for the evening (pre-theatre) and graciously assisted us in keeping to our timetable. As the check box says, definitely "fit for foodies." I was even able to find close street parking without too much trouble. We'll return.
I have dined here several times. They continue to get better each time. The Chefs Feast is a must for the price. Favorite dish-massaged kale with Delicato squash....amazing.
We did their feast and it was almost too much food to handle...almost. The ingredients were great and the umami was on point. The staff were kind, yet not over attentive. We were able to sit at the bar for two hours and not feel rushed. I can't wait to go back.
Everything was perfect. Interesting and wonderful food, great service, and layer back atmosphere.
This restaurant had incredible food and and great ambience. The chef was dedicated to each dish he procured, was humble and engaging. The food all felt fresh and each dish well thought through. Looking forward to going back when the next season menu comes out!
Amazing food in a wonderful atmosphere. My wife and I enjoyed every dish that was served. My favorite dishes were the lamb shank and sausage. We ended the meal with a delicious bay leaf ice cream. This was the best meal of our entire trip.
This was our second visit and it was just as great as the first time. Delicious & creative food, yummy cocktails & wine and great staff!
We did the tasting menu, and it was good, but not of the same caliber I've come to expect from tasting menus in Seattle. However, the price was reasonable, so the overall value was satisfactory. Next time, I'd probably order a few things off the traditional menu. The salmon and pork were the two remarkable things on the tasting menu. I also saw the brussel sprouts at another table, and they looked delicious.
After reading all the reviews, my wife and I were expecting a spectacular dining experience. We were disappointed. I saw no poor reviews of this restaurant, and as such, feel odd for adding one...but the experience was what it was...mediocre. We sat at the bar, which is our preference, in order to be able to experience the food being prepared. We ordered the chef's tasting menu, as many had recommended. The entire experience fell flat. There were solid dishes that were well prepared...salads that were well crafted, and one steelhead dish that was perfectly done....but others that were just bad. One pork dish was so embarrassingly overcooked, it should never have been served. I recognize that perhaps patrons screw up a kitchen, as I overheard one couple send back the perfectly prepared steelhead as undercooked, which may lead to the kitchen overcooking pork to appease certain clientele...but a quality restaurant that receives great reviews does not typically cater to such individuals. The wine list is decidedly local, to a fault. Not everyone wants to have overly oaked, high alcohol Washington wines as the only option available. The waitstaff was pedestrian...they had no report with any of the diners, including us. They did their job, but there was no passion for their restaurant or their work. Many have complained about the noise level, which was loud for a small restaurant, but that is but a minor distraction compared to the other issues. Maybe we just experienced an off-night, but I can't see that I'll give them another chance.
Amazing food. A wonderful experience to share with my chef friend. The ONLY downside was BLARING music that made it difficult to hear the server explain each dish and limited conversation.
This was a special occasion for us - a trip from Whidbey to SAM with dinner after. We chose Opus due to the reviews and were not disappointed. I highly recommend the feast - six courses, each of which was a new experience for us. My only regret is that we didn't have a recorder to take down the server's description as each was delivered. We'd start eating and immediately ask each other "What did she say?" My favorite - the pork belly. Tender and juicy with a crunchy crisp skin. This chef is a genius with flavor AND texture.
I'd read about Opus Co in the Seattle Times and was attracted to its description of a cozy environment with great food and an emphasis on preservation techniques and locally sourced food. I met a friend there for dinner and we enjoyed a terrific meal and conversation (although, warning, it can get noisy inside). The restaurant is a small, modern space with an open kitchen and a chalkboard mounted high on the eastern wall detailing the specific providers of the day's produce and meats. The menu is small but has a variety of dishes including meat, fish and vegetarian entrees and a few side dishes. There's also a good wine list including several by the glass and even a limited number of cocktails.
I had the lamb which came with pickled sunchokes, and also a delicious side of charred brussel sprouts with tahini. My friend ate the (very generous) half chicken that came with three small sides of various pickled vegetables. We traded bites and agrees the flavors were terrific and the presentation fun and distinctive. As he said, "I don't normally like brussel sprouts, so when I go to a restaurant I like trying things I don't normally like to see if they can change my mind. I like these brussel sprouts."
We ended with their carrot cake, bypassing the other option of buttermilk ice cream, and it made for a very nice end to the evening.
Small, intimate setting. Fantastic farm to table food!
Fantastic and well-informed staff, amazing food and drink, great ambiance. A great spot for a date or special occasion.
Birthday dinner was fabulous. Attentive staff, flexible wine pairings, and delicious (and reasonably priced) food. Fabulous experience. We will be back.
We had a wonderful dinner at Opus Co. The food and service were outstanding. The restaurant is small and can get a bit noisy, but it was still a wonderful dining experience. We thought the chef’s feast was a great value and just the right amount of food. We’re not foodies, but we appreciated the care and creativity that went into our meal.
