Ophelia's Fish House
Wonderful restaurant in Capitol Hill. The food is outstanding. The Sunday brunch is probably one of the nicest in the city. Great value and a wonderful staff. My favorite go to restaurant on Capitol Hill.
It was a great experience
Overall the management was attentive and took care of any concerns raised. He offered a generous discount and apologized for the inconvenience (pricing was not updated on Open Table). This was certainly not their fault. I appreciated his response.
Our waiter was great. Unfortunately, we waited a very long time to get our entrees (about an hour). Also, although my roasted seabass was very tasty, the potato served with it was black/charred and hard as a hockey puck. It was completely inedible. I was reluctant to have them make me a new potato because of how long it took our entrees to arrive. However, they insisted and luckily it came out fairly quickly. I was only able to taste it because I had already completed my meal, but I took it home.
We went here for brunch and the food and service were fantastic! I would definitely book Ophelia's again!
I like this place for brunch and their Po' Boy sandwiches are pretty good, too.
I was afraid with the reviews saying that the service was a little slow but I went anyway. I’m glad that I did. Our food came out so quickly they I questioned if it was preordered. The food was great.
The staff did a wonderful job! The food was very tasty. The only downside was the small glasses for the adult beverages. I believe bigger glasses would be better. Overall, great job! Will return.
Second time here and food was excellent again! Sit outside on the patio, felt safe from Covid and I will return again!!
I was looking for a location to meet a friend outside for drinks in potentially inclement weather. Ophelia's patio worked out perfectly.
Amazing seafood and great covered patio. Service was pretty slow but the food made up for it.
My server Amos was the best!
Food and drinks are amazing!!! Great service too! Definitely going back
We came for Sunday brunch! The food was fantastic and everything is very reasonably price. However, the service was extremely slow. We aren’t sure if it was something that day, but many people who arrived after us got their food long before we did.
We ate dinner on the covered patio, which was ideal for COVID era. Large menu with good variety. We shared a house salad, nicely dressed and plenty for 2. We enjoyed the shrimp po-boy and the swordfish with a flavorful creamy citrus sauce, although fish might have been less fresh than optimal. Service was very attentive and quick until we received main course, and then was totally absent, and we had to flag someone down to get a check.
Great spot for brunch. Friendly service. Love the shrimp po boy and crabcake sandwich.
Our party was seated and attended to promptly. Found and service and drinks were excellent. I will definitely revisit.
I attended for brunch with a reservation for 1:30 and outside eating. Upon arrival, I was informed that none of the outdoor tables were ready despite having a reservation. I was told it was due to existing parties not leaving after reaching their time limit. The manager was very nice and apologetic about the matter and provided us with mimosas while we waited. I was disappointed that it took over 30 minutes to be seated which cut into our brunch time. Overall, the food and service was good.
Impromptu dinner with my husband. We started off with crab bisque and crab/shrimp bisque. Crab bisque was very good. Crab/shrimp bisque didn’t have much shrimp and was a little salty. Our main entrees were the sea bass and fish and chips. Both were very tasty. Fish and chips portion was large. Main drawback was that service was slow and a little inconsistent, despite not being that crowded.
One of the best restaurants in the Hill neighborhood.
Second dining at Ophelia’s, once for brunch and second time for dinner. The brunch pancakes were the best I’ve had, light and flavorful. Scallops at dinner were delicious and well prepared. All four of us at dinner commented on how much we enjoyed our entrees, all fish dishes. Our waiter was helpful and attentive despite being the only one serving on the middle of the week night. Will definitely return.
Horrendous service. Disorganized, unfriendly and just a mess in general.
We met for brunch with friends from ND. They missed sea food and Olphelia’s had a lot of interesting options.
Enjoyed the scallops, though the room was a little chilly. We'll go back again.
The food was amazing and the service was great. I highly recommend for brunch on the patio which is heated during the winter.
The food was outstanding, and our server was very attentive. Highly recommend!
Excellent food, ambiance, and service. I really enjoy my dining experiences at Ophelia's.
We were a fairly large party and were seated in the outdoor patio. It was equipped with heaters but they were not turned on. We had to ask several times for staff to turn them on. They also had the ceiling fans going which made it cold as well. Our server was delightful and made up for the temperature but in future I would suggest pre heating the area if it’s to be utilized. It really took away from the overall experience. It’s a great little place that I will visit again especially when it’s warmer
We had brunch. The food was good, the bloodymarys were disappointing. There were served in small glasses, no garnishes, not even a celery stick and no depth of flavor. The eggs for the eggs Benedict were perfectly poached and tasty.
The food and service were amazing. I found the restaurant by pulling up the best seafood restaurants near where we live and Ophelia’s was the first to pop up. I had the flounder stuffed with shrimp and crabmeat and was able to change my vegetable from cauliflower to broccoli. My husband had the jambalaya. We only had one issue and it was the drink he ordered which he didn’t like but our waiter Alonzo was glad to get him a different drink. We will be going back and have told our friends and family about the restaurant. THUMBS UP 👍
Our waiter was not attentive. Never came back to offer us additional drinks. He did give my boyfriend some crackers because he was not feeling well. We had to track him down for the check. The place wasn’t even crowded. He seemed confused and was getting orders wrong.
Love Ophelia’s! The roasted calamari was a little fishy, but otherwise no complaints. Big fan.
Great brunch menu and great atmosphere. The outdoor seating area was warm with the heaters on but it is in between fall and winter. The food was excellent. Will be back for dinner.
Came inside and there was no greeting from the server at all.
Sat there unattended for about 5-6 minutes.
Server was wearing a bandage on hand and had dirty fingernails.
We got up, left and went to Matchbox
Our meal and service was wonderful. Staff was helpful, menu choices great and food prep nicely done
Everything was outstanding from the food to the service. My brother really enjoyed his birthday celebration!
I thought I had found an hidden gem. I expected a four or five Star dining experience with drinks created by a mixologist and delicious food created by a Chef. Instead, I am not sure if the quality of the food was subpar (such as, boxed/frozen) and/or the preparer was an individual, who lacked culinary training. This was the equivalent of what you receive at Red Lobster or Ruby Tuesday.
The service was excellent. The food was delicious. Pricey but so worth it.
